🏠 The Space
Whether you're staying for one night or a little longer, you'll have the place to yourself, with everything you need to settle in, unpack and feel at home.
It stays cool in summer, warm in winter, and has everything you need to settle in and switch off. Perfect for workers, whānau stays, quiet weekends away, or anyone needing a slower pace for a few days.
🛋️ Lounge
After a long day, the lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
• Large comfy couch • Two La-Z-Boy recliners • Smart TV with free Netflix • Fireplace • Air conditioning

Whether you're cooking a full meal or just heating up takeaways, you'll find everything you need.
The kitchen includes:
• Fridge/freezer • 5-burner gas hob • Electric oven • Microwave • Air fryer • Rice cooker • Slow cooker • Electric frypan • Toaster • Kettle • Nutribullet • Hand mixer
Along with everyday cookware, utensils, serving dishes and everything needed to prepare a proper meal.

🛁 Bathroom & Laundry
The shower shares the laundry (or maybe the laundry shares the shower, depending how you look at it).
One thing guests regularly comment on is the water pressure. It's hot, reliable and perfect for washing the day away.
Available by request, the separate cabin is ideal for larger groups or guests wanting a little extra privacy.
It includes:
• One double bed • One king single bed • Dresser • Fully insulated • Double glazed
🏡 Warm & Comfortable
The lounge is heated by a heat pump, while the bedrooms have automatic panel heaters during the cooler months.

🌿 Good to Know
This is an older bach with plenty of character, so you may notice the odd creak as it continues to be lovingly updated over time.
This property isn't childproof and is best suited to families with children aged 5 years and over.
The water pressure pump sits outside near Bedroom Three and may switch on occasionally.
Because you're staying in rural Tolaga Bay, you may hear roosters, cows or horses from time to time.
Power cuts are uncommon but can occasionally happen on the Coast. Candles are provided just in case.
🏡 Security Cameras
Exterior security cameras are installed for the safety of our guests and the security of the property. They monitor the driveway and entrances only.
There are no cameras inside the house or cabin, or in any private guest areas.
🐴 About Us
Because we occasionally travel ourselves, some weekends require a two-night minimum stay. If you're looking for a one-night stay, feel free to send us a message. If we can make it work, we'll always do our best.
🧺 Optional Extras
Available on request:
• Cabin access (by request) • Mid-stay linen and towel refresh – $50 • Mid-stay full house refresh – $100 • Firewood delivery – $20 per night
Cabin access incurs a $50 cleaning fee plus the standard additional guest fee.
📍 Tolaga Bay
Tolaga Bay is a small East Coast community where life moves a little slower.
You'll find:
• Gas station • Truck stop • Food truck • Two dairies • Pub • Bottle store • Fish and chip shops • Lotto
Many guests choose to stock up on groceries in Gisborne before arriving.
What Tolaga Bay lacks in shopping, it makes up for with fresh sea air, friendly locals and the chance to slow down for a while.

Kia ora! My family and I live on a rural lifestyle block on the East Coast, making the most of life with our three kids, plenty of cats, dogs, and horses, and a love for the outdoors.
Why they chose this property
We’re local to the Coast and this is home for us.
We’ve built our life here around family, horses, and the slower pace that comes with living rural. Tolaga Bay isn’t busy or overdeveloped, and that’s exactly why we love it. It’s quiet, open, and gives you space to breathe.
We wanted to share a place that reflects that. Somewhere simple, comfortable, and welcoming for people coming through for mahi, tangi, or just needing a bit of time out.
What makes this property unique
What makes this place unique is how real and easy it feels.
It’s not a polished show home. It’s a warm, comfortable bach set up for actual living. A place where you can arrive, settle in, and feel at ease straight away.
It works well for the kinds of stays people actually need. Mahi trips, tangi, whānau time, or just a quiet reset. There’s space to gather, a fully fenced section for kids, and enough flexibility to sleep larger groups without overcomplicating things.
The separate cabin is a bonus too. It gives extra room and a bit of breathing space when you need it, while still keeping everyone close.
It’s simple, honest, and reliable. A good place to land at the end of the day.
