About this property
Quiet Oasis in Darlinghurst - 2 bed 2 bath character flat on quiet leafy street
Our bright, character filled heritage Victorian two bedroom (two bathroom!) flat on a beautiful tree-lined residential street in Darlinghurst is a quiet oasis moments from fantastic cafés & restaurants, & is a great base for exploring Sydney & beyond!
20mins walk from city, 5-10min walk to train, and 2mins to bus.
A comfortable, character filled space for two couples or a family. Both bedrooms have reverse cycle air conditioning (heating and cooling), and there is a Jetmaster gas fireplace in the living area.
Please note that as this is flat within an over 130year old, timber framed building, sound will carry more easily than modern concrete built apartment buildings, and we ask guests to note that loud voices/ music etc WILL carry to our neighbours within the building, and also to adjoining neighbours in terrace houses next door. Please do not book unless you are LOOKING FORWARD TO A QUIET STAY. Probably not the place to book for a catch up trip with friends if you expect to be staying in and having rowdy chats and dinners. We don’t want your stay impacted by (rightfully upset) neighbours, and want our flat to be a good ‘fit’ for our guests and vice versa!
Please note;
- There are approx 10-12 stairs at the front of the building, off the street (all houses on our side of the street are set slightly above the street). As our building is a converted Victorian terrace house building, there are an original, narrow Victorian set of stairs inside our building to access the entry to our first floor (one level above Ground), two bedroom flat. Further, our two bedroom flat is over two levels, so there is an internal stair within our flat, as is seen in the photographs.
This flat is therefore unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues, some very young and older people, and unsuitable for anyone wanting access via a lift.
- only booked guests are allowed in the building. No visitors allowed inside the building.
- external building security cameras are used by Building Management to ensure only booked guests are accessing the building, and to ensure only the number of booked guests are using our home, as unapproved groups and parties are not allowed.
- no smoking or vaping is allowed anywhere in the building or on the building grounds, including the front steps and shared courtyard. We ask if you smoke on the street that you please don’t stand immediately outside smoking, as smoke blows back inside residential homes.
- there is a shared laundry with 2 washing machines but no dryer. We dry washing on the outside clothes line. There are a number of laundromats in the area if you need a dryer or prefer to drop your laundry off to be washed and dried for you.
