Misleading listing with no hot water: A disappointing stay

We were very disappointed with our stay. The cabin did not match the photos or descriptions at all. There was no couch—just two chairs—and the bed was a Murphy bed that wasn’t disclosed. The shower still had a razor blade and tape left behind. There was no fire pit or TV. The appliances were still wrapped in packaging with manuals attached, and there was no separate bedroom—just a one-room studio layout. Window screens were stacked on the porch, and one window was unfinished and had no privacy shade. The cabins were so close together that there was no privacy, including the “private” hot tub, which was right outside the neighbor’s window. People—both kids and adults—were constantly walking through the backyard, able to see directly into the cabin and even waving when awkwardly making eye contact. To top it off, there was no hot water for a shower, which was the final straw. We had booked two nights but left before the first night at 9:30 and drove 90 minutes home. We expected a comfortable, cozy retreat, but the space felt incomplete and uninviting. Had we known the true condition of the cabin, we would never have booked at this price or made the trip. As we were leaving, we were told “we know it’s a rustic stay,” but that is not what was advertised in the pictures or descriptions on the listing. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this property. Even though we received our money back and were offered a free night in the future, we will never return.
