About this property
Ski, Red Rocks & Downtown Golden, Retreat
Summary:
Relax in this modern Scandinavian-inspired home with a furnished patio perfect for hanging out. Sleeps 4 with a queen bed and twin trundle. Minutes to Red Rocks, trails, mountain resorts, and great dining. The bedroom includes a Tuft & Needle mattress, Smart TV, desk with monitor and HDMI cable, closet, en-suite bath, fresh towels, toiletries, and a shared washer/dryer nearby.
The Space:
Located less than 15 minutes from Red Rocks and under an hour to Loveland Ski Area. You’ll also be just over an hour to Arapahoe Basin and Keystone, and about 1.5 hours to Copper Mountain and Breckenridge. Whether you’re here to ski or hike, you’ll find all levels of trails and outdoor adventure nearby!
As you enter the home, you’ll step into a foyer with an adjacent powder room. From there, you’ll walk into the bright, open-concept living room and kitchen, fully stocked with everything you need for your stay. The living area features a Smart TV with streaming services and opens onto a furnished patio—perfect for relaxing.
You’re also welcome to walk around to the back and use the grills on the lower level. The basement unit is rented to other guests, so please be respectful of their space when passing through—but feel free to say hello and make friends with your fellow travelers. Please note: it is up to guests to refill the propane if needed.
Upstairs, you’ll find the queen master bedroom connected to a full bathroom with Jack-and-Jill sinks, a shower, and a tub—shared between both bedrooms. The second guest room has a twin bed with a pull-out trundle. (Note: the listing states there is a bunk bed in the second guest room, but it is technically a twin trundle bed which can sleep two guests.)
A laundry unit is conveniently located in the hallway closet upstairs.
This home is 100% electric with solar panels and was designed to LEED certification standards, so you can enjoy a lighter carbon footprint during your stay. The backyard is landscaped with native wildflowers and clover to reduce water use.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire unit, including the kitchen, living room, dining area, patio, both guest bedrooms, and the laundry units. Please note that there are a few additional rooms and spaces that are locked and not accessible during your stay. There is proper signage notating what spaces not to use so there should be no confusion.
The Neighborhood:
One of Golden’s most alluring features is its proximity to attractions such as Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, the Colorado School of Mines, adventures like Lookout Mountain, Lariat Loop, great hiking and climbing, and exploration in the Rockies. Locals head to Echo Mountain, Eldora (near Boulder), or Loveland (near Georgetown) for a more low-key experience. We're also one hour from Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Winter Park, and Copper Mountain. This location is the perfect jumping-off point for exploring the best of Golden and surrounding towns, the Rockies, and even Denver if you’re craving the hustle and bustle of the big city!
Getting Around:
The Rocky Mountains are to the West, and Denver is South of where you will be staying. I-70 West will take you into the mountains and straight to the ski areas, while you can hop on I-25 to access Fort Collins to the North and Colorado Springs to the South. The 36 takes you to Boulder and eventually the Rocky Mountain National Park gateway towns of Lyons and Estes Park. Downtown Golden is a highly walkable city. In addition to nearby Clear Creek Trails, Washington Avenue and the historic 12th Street neighborhood are great locations to stroll. A car is recommended if you will be exploring the mountains.
