Gabriola is a beautiful Gulf Island, and part of the island experience is that power outages happen a little more often than in the city. When this occurs, electricity, internet, and water (our well pump runs on power) may be temporarily unavailable.
We’ve got you covered with:
🚰 Emergency water for toilet flushing
🔦 Flashlights and backup lighting
💧 Drinking water always on hand
🍳 A power outage kit (coffee percolator, kettle, propane camping stove, and pans) — kept in the pantry by the entrance door
⚡ Generator backup available for extended outages (we’ll get you set up if needed)
Outages are usually resolved quickly by BC Hydro. We’ll always do our best to keep you comfortable until service is restored.
Although there is a fire pit available for guests, during the summer months on Gabriola, there is often a fire ban in effect. When there is a fire ban, fires in the fire pit are prohibited.
