Hi, I’m Simon – the house manager of The Beach Shack on Little Reef and a proud Port Douglas local. I love the tropical lifestyle and the adventure that comes with living on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. Whether it’s snorkelling, hiking, or just enjoying the outdoors, this region has so much to offer. I also adore the local café scene, fabulous restaurants, and boutique shopping that make Port Douglas such a vibrant destination. Outside of hosting, I run a fashion styling business and bring over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry to everything I do – from personal styling to curating beautiful spaces like this one.

I chose Little Reef Street for its unbeatable location in what locals call the “Golden Triangle” – a true slice of paradise. Just a 30-second stroll through lush, natural rainforest opens up to the world-famous Four Mile Beach, offering a beachfront lifestyle with unmatched serenity. The area is peaceful yet perfectly positioned, with iconic spots like The Beach Shack café just around the corner for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You’re also close to the local pub, doctors’ surgeries, and supermarkets – making it the ideal balance of tropical escape and everyday convenience.

I chose this property because it truly has it all – a spacious three-bedroom, two-bathroom beachfront home paired with a fully detached two-bedroom, one-bathroom villa. Located right on the edge of the world-famous Four Mile Beach, it’s a rare gem. I was instantly drawn to its quirky 1970s design, with generously sized bedrooms, a large open-plan living and kitchen area, and a layout that celebrates both space and character. The fencing provides excellent privacy and security, while the huge pool, complete with a spa and a fantastic entertaining area, makes it the perfect tropical retreat for families or groups.
