Really liked the individual nature of the property. It had a lot of character. Although the owner was not present a colleague was available across the road who was friendly and welcoming and who we felt would have been very helpful had we needed anything.

Communication was smooth, and the stay went without any issues. They appreciated the unique character of the property and the availability of local support if needed. They would be welcome to stay again in the future.
We are grateful for the opportunity to stay in the house, it was cosy and warm, as per the description as well as being in a prime location to visit the the catlins. We couldn’t hope for any better. Thanks again.

The guests were easy to communicate with prior to arrival and kept us informed of their travel plans. They respected the property and left it in good condition.
The stay went smoothly, and everything was in order. We hope they enjoyed their time in the Catlins and visiting Lake Wilkie. They would be welcome to stay again.
The host was great, and there was somebody across the road to help us with our needs. There are chickens out the back and we arrived to find fresh eggs and milk in the fridge. Both bathrooms have heaters and heated towel rails and plenty of space. The cottage is charming and there is a very large deck off to one side with a bar table and chairs. Wifi worked well. Kitchen is well equipped. House is at the end of a small village - so you feel like you are on a farm but in reality you are only a couple of blocks from everything. There is a 4 Square supermarket in the village. We received keys for the front and rear doors. Very charming and you would be happy here. Note, no tv, but wifi is good enough to stream through your device.

The guests stayed for three nights and left the property very clean and tidy. They were considerate during their stay, taking care of the space and leaving everything in good order.
Communication was smooth, and the stay went without any issues. They appeared to enjoy the peaceful setting, the character of the cottage, and the amenities provided, including the well-equipped kitchen and reliable Wi-Fi.
They would be welcome to stay again in the future.
We were pleasantly surprised with this cottage. It's more spacious than it looks from the outside, having 2 bathrooms and laundry facilities was a huge bonus and the decor was an endless eclectic feast for our eyes! Constantly discovering interesting things to look at and read. Great internet connection, but no TV.... we played card games with our teenagers, roasted marshmallows in the fire and enjoyed Sparklers at midnight on New Year's Day. The kids even got a lesson in working the record player and they loved it! The property manager lives across the street and sne is absolutely delightful. Anything you need is just a phone call away. Location is also perfect for all the hikes and bays that surround Owaka, but unfortunately, we were rained out. The Museum was charming and there is a playground right around the corner. Quite a good one, with an under 5's area and a basketball hoop. Thanks for the memories Owaka!
