What a view! Such a great location and plenty of space for a large family. Eagles above us and lots of sea life below. Well appointed kitchen with everything you need (even sharp knife’s). Would rent again if we’re back to Juneau.

Great House! Great View!

Unique, clean and comfortable. We spotted seal lions and eagles while exploring the beach and observed a pod of orca whales swimming by while enjoying brunch in the kitchen! The wood stove kept us cozy during our winter wonderland visit! We will definitely stay here again.

Spectacular home!

This home was spectacular! Spacious living area, comfortable beds, amazing views, plenty of privacy and the beachfront access at the property is among the best in Juneau. Our group of 12 enjoyed every bit of our time at the home. We will definitely look to book this home again next time we are in Juneau.

The host entered and exited the house during the day while were out. Numerous times during our stay. It seemed he was lurking around the home and in and out with out reason the entire time we were in Juneau.Kind of spooky.

We’re sorry this experience felt uncomfortable, as we want all guests to feel relaxed and at ease during their stay. After sharing your feedback with the homeowner, they’d like to provide the following: - During your stay, the area experienced severe winter weather with temperatures dropping to near 0 degrees. We noticed windows and doors had been left open and attempted to reach you before briefly entering to secure the home and protect it from the elements, particularly given the conditions and occupancy by an all-male work crew. - While you were away, we reached out to offer to light the wood stove so the home would be warm upon your return, which you appreciated and approved. - Guest privacy is very important, and this was an isolated situation taken with care for both your comfort and the home’s condition. Thank you for your feedback—it helps us continue improving and providing a more comfortable experience for future guests.

WOW

Gigantic house, tastefully furnished, fully stocked.Tons of indoor and outdoor space for kids to adventure, cozy fireplaces, and lovely neighborhood for walks to picnic areas. But the best part??? This view is INCREDIBLE. Nothing like it. Life is better on the beach.

10/10 experience - We had a large, multi-family group (11 individuals) that stayed comfortably in the Ruddy House. Richard, our host, was outstanding and shared history, insight, and his love for nature. We took advantage of the passenger van available to rent during our stay which was very convenient. Being a long-time resident of Juneau and having extensive experience in whale watching/outdoor excursions, we were able to join Richard for a whale watching excursion, and it was spectacular. The whales were incredible, but it was lovely to join Richard on his private boat for a personal, unforgettable experience. He worked very hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The cabin felt like a quintessential Alaskan experience filled with ocean views from nearly every room and quirky seaside decor. Little conveniences made the home feel very comfortable including soft water, a fully stocked kitchen, and great beds with blackout curtains in the rooms. An unexpected bonus was the tide pools each morning filled with starfish, sea urchins, and little crabs for our toddler to explore! Of note, this property has a steep staircase leading to the front door. It was not an issue for us as it is well maintained. It may be a consideration for those with limited mobility.
