We loved this cottage! We were a multigenerational family on the tail end of celebrating my graduation and it was awesome to escape to Hinch Cottage. Super gorgeous and great to immerse ourselves in nature!
If you're looking for a place to get away from the technical world and get back to nature and peace this is the place to do it. Such a charming place and so peaceful. The view in the fall would be something out of a painting. Loved it and can't wait to go back as soon as we can. Families or a couple the place is perfect either way
This is an older cabin, but it is a great value for the price. It had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean and we enjoyed our time there.

We have been offering this cottage to our guests for over 20 years now. The appliances and furniture have been updated on a regular bases. We have learned what our guests want in a "cottage in the woods" and we have tried to offer it.
Thank you for visiting us and we hope you and your family come back soon.

Perfect, secluded get-away!
This cabin was very clean and had all the amenities for preparing and cooking meals. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. A very nice place to come "home" to after a day of hiking or fishing nearby.
This is a great little cabin to disconnect at! The road is a little rough - glad we brought the truck and not the Prius. House had everything we needed. Almost zero cell service - so keep that in mind if you need service. We could send out messages occasionally in certain spots. Get your map in and out with screenshots before you head out!

Katie was out having fun during her stay so we did not find her around when we looked in on her. We will take that as a good thing.
Very well kept nice place a little hard to find . secluded no phone service or wifi
We lost power do to the storm that knocked out power for 4000 ppl
We made do w what we were given.
Very comfortable and cozy. The hosts were very welcoming and checked with us to see whether we needed anything. There is a charcoal grill and fire pit out front. The goats are really cute and freindly. The road was in good condition, but can be impassible when the water is high. About 40 minutes to the Merimac Caverns.
We had a wonderful time in this cottage, getting away from busy city life. We kayaked two days on the Meramec River which is very close. Nora and Sam were excellent hosts and I enjoyed hearing the story of this cabin and others on site (property in the family for over 80 years!) Petting the goats was another treat! The driveway was a little rough, but the gravel road was easy. We ate our meals outside at the table, and enjoyed a fire and the stars at night. The only problem was we forgot my suitcase and pillow! Make sure it's in your car...and not discover it when you get here.
House was clean. Has a rustic old time charm to it. A good place to get away from all the electronics in the world. There was very random phone service in the area. Good thing to warn your children if they live on the phone. A nice creek was nearby and was relaxing to check out. The river access nearby does not have a gravel bar but makes for a great fishing spot.
The cabin was in a great area surrounded by nature on the side of a mountain.
There was no internet or cell service, but there was cable so we were able to watch the NBA playoffs without the distractions of our phones.
The roads are very rough on the way to the cabin
Very basic cabin. Clean and comfy. The shower pressure is awful so they may want to change the shower head. We had a really great time! We spent the day at Blue Springs creek whic is pretty close.

Thanks for letting us know about the shower head. We have replaced it with a brand new one. Since we do not live in the cottage we depend on our guests to tell us about any problems they may encounter during their stay.
This house was very cozy, clean and comfortable. For me and 3 of my adult daughters, it was perfect. The view was gorgeous. One issue, a small map of the roads would have been nice because the roads are not marked. Had some trouble finding places and there is no cell reception for gps. But 5 out of 5 stars!!!
