Awesome to hear you enjoyed your stay in our cottage which is located in Hermann's Historic District. There are lots of wineries, distilleries, shops and tasting rooms within walking distance of our property. Fall is a wonderful time to visit Hermann! Hope you can come back soon.
The listing was as described. Nancy was super responsive, but Renter take notice: I have rented MANY properties through online rental sites but have NEVER experienced the extremely extensive check in process like I did here. There were signs for everything but she walked us through every detail of the property on top of leaving a binder and the notes that already explained everything. Then had a contract to read and sign, THEN had to leave a credit card number that she wrote down(which I was not comfortable with at all), for incidentals. We were really just trying to get checked in quickly because we only had the one afternoon to shop, eat and attend our wine trail and it was already the afternoon. It was all just entirely too much. I understood she wanted to be cautious but other properties NEVER do this.
We could have used more blankets, as there was just the quilt bedding on the actual bed provided. Nancy was truly trying to be helpful, but as a suggestion, maybe just stick to the very basics and leave it up to your guest to read the binder. Just a couple suggestions.
The location was absolutely perfect and could walk to many restaurants, wineries and shopping.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay in our cottage and our great location. The confirmation I sent you when your reservation was accepted, clearly states: “A valid credit card is required upon check-in to have on file during your stay and you will need to sign a registration form”. As you can see, not everyone reads. This is exactly why I take a few minutes to show my guests around and follow up with a binder on the table in case they need to refer back on anything. I was more than happy to check you in 45 minutes early so that you could continue the wine trail that you had already started. I think that my 27 years of experience as a host is invaluable and I am always available if my guests need me. At check-in I told you that if you needed anything to contact me. I would gladly have brought you an additional blanket if you had asked. A bed and breakfast with a host on site, offers the guests a more personal touch, one that most of my guests welcome.
We had a great stay at the cottage! The host was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and her flowers are beautiful. The cottage was clean, cute, and comfortable. We were able to walk everywhere to eat, shop, and enjoy the wineries in town. We hope to return sometime.
