We are passionate about creating memorable rural experiences for our guests. As the team behind Flat Hills Café & Tourist Park, we love sharing the beauty of this property, our friendly farm animals, and the relaxed country atmosphere that makes Flat Hills such a special place to visit. Whether you're stopping for a night or staying longer, we want every guest to feel welcome, comfortable, and able to enjoy a genuine slice of rural New Zealand.
Why they chose this property
The Rangitīkei region offers some of New Zealand's most beautiful rural landscapes, with rolling hills, wide-open spaces, and a peaceful atmosphere that is becoming harder to find. Located conveniently on State Highway 1, Flat Hills provides the perfect place to break up a journey while still feeling like a true countryside escape. We love the friendly local community, stunning scenery, and the opportunity to share this unique part of New Zealand with visitors from around the world.

Flat Hills is much more than just a place to stay. Guests can enjoy a unique combination of accommodation, farm animals and animal interactions, family attractions, and café facilities all in one location. Meet alpacas, llamas, goats, sheep and other friendly animals, challenge the family in our giant maze, relax with a coffee from the café, or simply enjoy the peaceful rural surroundings. Our accommodation offers a convenient stopover between Wellington and Taupō while still providing an authentic country experience that guests of all ages can enjoy.
