We brought our dog with us so the fenced in yard was great… Jim was very good at quickly responding to our questions. Loved that it is close to the road to Folly Beach that bypasses the traffic ofDowntown Charleston to get there.
We stayed here four years ago when we moved in our daughter to college and we stayed here again when we saw her graduate. Home was clean and cozy with lots of amenities
Just the right size for my grandson and me. The cottage was convenient to my family in the area, downtown Charleston and the beaches. It was quiet during the night. Thanks to the property owner the amenities.
Perfect for my family and pets! Jim is so thoughtful.

While this was my 1st review on VRBO, this house has been on another site for many years, www,airbnb.com/h/charlestoncottage. and has over 200 great reviews
This sweet little house was perfect for our stay. The backporch was an amazing place to relax on the warm evenings.
Jim was a perfect host and made sure everything we could possibly need was available. He gave great suggestions for our stay and was super responsive.
We will definitely stay at his properties again.

The homeowner was great about being in contact with us. He left some great information about the area, as well as some nice complimentary snacks. The furniture in the back porch needed to be cleaned, but we were there in the early Spring when it might normally be too cool outside to use the screened in porch.

Good house in bad hood
House was old but clean and located 10 minutes from Charleston. The neighborhood was not appealing at all. Multiple abandoned homes in the area.
The neighborhood looked a little sketchy initially, but we encountered no problems beyond some fireworks early in the morning and late at night, which happens everywhere on July 4th in my experience. Location was perfect for access to the convention center for a national dance competition. One bathroom was a little tight, but that was on us. Our host was gracious with the house having lots of amenities not normally found (dishsoap, tp, popcorn maker, snacks, laundry, etc.) We would stay again!
Jim's place was fantastic! Had everything I needed and more, he's really thought of everything. Just wish the weather had been better so I could have used the yard a bit more! My only "cons" were that the internet didn't seem to be strong enough to support the level of streaming I needed for video calls for work, the neighbor's rooster, and there didn't seem to be much in the area to do - but it is just a short drive to downtown Charleston.

I'm Glad Kelsey enjoyed her stay, she didn't mention during her visit, there was an issue with the internet If she reached out, i would have contacted the provider to see what was needed to get the issue resolved.
As Kelsey stated this is a residential neighborhood, so there isn't very much with in walking distance, but Downtown is just a few minute car ride.
We absolutely loved our stay with Jim, he was very good with communication and overall created a beautiful place for us to call home. When you arrive to the property he provides a well put together binder with everything you need to have a smooth stay. It includes a house manual that lists everything included with the home as well as recommendations from previous guests! As a treat we enjoyed the popcorn machine, if you have any problems with it, Jim will be sure to help. The location of the home can be deceiving at first but in the manual it gives history of the neighborhood which made us feel at ease and comfortable!

It is very important to me to provide a place that feels like home. The binder is a key element for my guests as it contains information about the history of the neighborhood and local recommendations by myself and other guests I have hosted.
Jim is one of the best hosts we’ve stayed with. His anticipation of our needs was amazing and we had everything we needed and then some - snacks, utensils, etc. We found extras throughout our stay and yet the smaller space still felt open and not crowded
The back porch was a lovely oasis with all kinds of activities available including beach items we could use including a cooler!
At first I had misgivings about the neighborhood but a quick call
To Jim assured me that the neighborhood was quite safe and after two nights there, I agree. So don’t let your first impressions scare you off!
In all we enjoyed our short time in Charleston.
Thanks Jim!

I love this review, its clear and informative. When Susan called me upon arrival I assured her everything would be ok, I provide a house manual and include a note explaining the history of the neighborhood, I strive for each guest to enjoy their visit to Charleston.
This rental met our needs perfectly. Lots of nice extra touches from the host. Location convenient to everywhere we needed to go. The house itself has lots of character and was so much better than staying in a hotel. Host was very responsive. All around pleased with the experience. If it’s available for our next Charleston trip, we will stay here again. Thanks Jim!
Very nice and clean place. Feels like home and has a good feel about it.
Owner very friendly and helpful. Will always be there to help and be in contact with you to help out. Also offers you good places to eat and things to do.
My husband and I stayed five nights in August. We really enjoyed this little house, the location was so convenient. We went to Charleston, Folly Beach and Johns island. We really enjoyed the fenced in backyard for our two dogs. The owner Jim was very accommodating and had a book full of suggestions on where to eat, play and relax. We would definitely stay here again
