About this property

Upscale 4 Season Killington/Okemo Retreat with Hot Tub

The home offers five bedrooms, a sleeping loft, three full bathrooms, and is modern and spacious enough to accommodate up to 14 people very comfortably. This is a traditional Vermont post and beam style home with soaring ceilings that is flooded with natural light. The large windows provide exquisite mountain views. The entire space has been recently updated and is luxurious with tasteful décor along with high tech amenities. The home is located within a quiet and serene setting on 88 acres of privately owned woodland, while still close and accessible to the major mountains and all they have to offer.

Just steps outside is a 7-person hot tub which you can enjoy and relax in after a long day of skiing or hiking. In the evening, this is a fantastic spot for star gazing. There is a sizable open yard in both the front and back of the home which is a perfect location for some friendly family competition in yard games. There is a patio with sound system and enough seating for everyone. There is a firepit in this area as well and includes a gas grill that is connected to the house propane and a big green egg charcoal smoker/grill. The front of the home has a covered porch and features several rocking chairs for your relaxation. Along the side of the home, you will see a large seasonal organic vegetable garden which you are welcome to help yourself to the bounty of. Bordering the yard is woodland ready to be explored. We have ski/snowshoe trails winding through the property. Take note of the varied animal tracks that you will come across as it is not uncommon to see moose prints. These trails can also be accessed in summer and are bursting with wild raspberries, ready for picking!

Inside the home you find a spacious chefs kitchen that is fully outfitted and stocked. It includes high end appliances featuring a six-burner cooktop, indoor gas grill, double wall ovens, warming drawer, 2 diswashers an oversized refrigerator, wine cooler and high end coffee station. There is a large granite island that is perfect for social gathering. It has an Alexa supported sound system. The open floor plan extends to the dining room with it’s grand table, elegant lighting and stone fireplace. The living room provides a 76 inch smart TV, surround sound, DVD player and multiple games and puzzles. Above the dining and living room is a substantial open loft area with a sectional sofa that can be pulled out to a queen size bed as well as two queen sized futons in a cozy sleeping/reading nook. There is a wall of windows here where you can look out on the glorious green mountains view. There are 2 bedrooms on this level, both have queen sized beds and one has a deck with seating for two overlooking the back yard. There is a bath on this level as well which features multiple shower and rain heads. Back downstairs there is another bedroom and full bath with a jacuzzi tub. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer that is stocked with cleaning supplies. Additionally, there is a guest apartment that is accessible from the first floor, this includes a bedroom with en suite full bath with multiple body sprays. There is a bar area with a beverage fridge, large screen TV, Alexa supported sound system, games and comfortable seating, with a love seat that can pull out to a single bed. Upstairs is another loft bedroom which consists of one king bed and 2 queen beds. There is comfortable a mudroom where you can easily suit up for the activity of your choice. This opens out onto the garage area that can accommodate multiple vehicles.
This property is entirely setup for your enjoyment, all linens are high end and provided for you, along with toiletries, paper and cleaning products. There is even a back up generator in the unlikely event of a power outage.

The location is perfectly accessible to many area attractions. The VAST snowmobile trail can be reached in less than ¼ mile from the home. Access to the Appalachian Mountain Trail, Long Trail and Catamount trails are all within walking distance. There is an array of local farm stands, farmers markets and artisan cheese makers close by – it is truly and area of farm to table delight!. Swimming, fishing and boating can be found in many of the local lakes. Okemo mountain is a 25 minute drive and Killington Resort is a 40 minute drive. We are 3 hours from Boston and 4.5 hours from New York City

I grew up in the Boston area and attended Northeastern University and hold a degree in Electrical Engineering. I work in the high tech industry and reside close to Boston with my husband and two children.

Why they chose this property

I am an avid skier and snowboarder and spent years dreaming of owning a mountain home like this. In 2016 I was lucky enough to be able to make that dream come true. I own the home with my brother and his family who are also like-minded in their pursuit of adventure. We love that we can all comfortably share this home and create a tight family bond with all of our much loved extended family.

What makes this property unique

There are so many things that I love about this home. The kitchen is amazing, there is a "secret" pantry. Two of what appear to be cabinet doors actually open into a pantry area which has a great latte machine. It's so fun when a guest discovers this! I also am passionate my vegetable garden. There is nothing nicer than running outside and picking the ingredients for dinner! Being able to ski or snowshoe directly out the back door onto our own trails is something that feels otherworldly - it is incredibly wonderful to be that close to nature.
