What the photos don't show is that the property is surrounded with junk and there appears to be a major lack of management. TV and internet were out for a good chunk of the stay, the TV needs to come with a manual as it's not at all user friendly. We had to leave a week early due to overflowing trash cans outside and lack of customer support. I do believe they are trying and understand some people don't need tidiness or internet/TV but for us this did not work.
Our stay at the historic farmhouse suite was overall a lovely experience. Even though the weather was gloomy all weekend, we still had an amazing time. The accommodations were really nice and pretty much perfect for what we were after. Philip was very communicative in the lead-up to our stay and gave some good restaurant recommendations in Marshall (Make sure you go to Whole Ox!)
The only downside was that the WiFi was out all weekend and cell reception is poor, so we couldn't even use cellular data to get around the area. Luckily for us, I am really familiar with the area and was able to navigate us around to a bunch of different attractions by memory. Poor Wifi service though is a fact of life out in this area, so it what it is. We got by with our mini-digital detox.
Would definitely recommend staying out here for a great central location to a lot of the great wineries and hikes in the area. Accommodations were clean and lovely. Just make sure you're a better planner than me, and look up locations/phone numbers before you head out.
Absolutely beautiful location! Next to several vineyards and sky meadow park! Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of DC! We will be back in October! Thank you Philip for this great Vrbo! You are doing it right sir!
It was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my boyfriend. We had a great time meeting the animals on the property (Beau the cow was my personal favorite). There were chickens, cows, sheep!! Watching the sheep run across the fields was just gorgeous (it felt like a movie). Watching the stars was such a peaceful experience (we don’t see much of them in the city). We brought our kitty and she loved the coziness of the suite. We did too! It had absolutely everything you needed!
Oh, and if you get a chance, check out the river nearby! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much!
The farmhouse suite was the perfect location for making day trips to Shenandoah National Park ( ~25 min. to Front Royal). Secluded in wine country, the suite was a great place to wind down after exploring the Park. The property was clean, well maintained, and had all the amenities that were advertised. Property management was quick to respond to texts for both check-in and questions during our stay.
What a wonderful property! The pictures do not do it justice. Everything was almost brand new, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the kitchen had anything every pot and pan you could think of to cook. Phillip gave great recommendations in addition to having a super smooth check in process. I’d highly recommend this property and would love to go back again!
