Gîte " Le Chai " Domaine Métairie des Gâcheries -Piscine-Dordogne/Perigord Vert

The “Métairie des Gâcheries” is a property featuring four cosy holiday rentals in a refined and peaceful setting with remarkable views, surrounded by hills and forests. It is located near Champagne and Fontaine, in the splendid, quiet, and relaxing countryside of the Périgord Vert. Set in a large, lush green space, the cottages will charm you with their comfort and offer a relaxing stay for the whole family: a large, secure swimming pool and beautiful outdoor areas with playgrounds.
On warm summer evenings, you can enjoy your private terrace, as well as the patio or the raised terrace with its fire pit in the inner courtyard.
Bed linens, towels, and tea towels are provided. If needed, a cot is available (upon request) at no charge.
At your disposal: parking, bicycles (including a tandem!), and children’s play equipment: swing, slide, trampoline, plus playrooms with a ball pit…
Three of the cottages are accessible to guests with limited mobility, featuring a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.
A hiking and biking trail runs along the property, perfect for wonderful outings. Many attractions (caves, castles, the Truffle Museum or Cognac Museum, abbeys…) and outdoor activities are nearby (canoeing, lakes, tree-top adventure courses…). Art and history towns such as Brantôme (the Venice of the Périgord), Nontron (the knife capital), Aubeterre, Villebois-Lavalette, Cognac, Périgueux, and Angoulême are nearby. And just over an hour away are Lascaux, Sarlat, La Roche-Gageac, Les Eysies, and Bergerac…
In addition to traditional markets and seasonal farmers’ markets, the truffle and foie gras markets are sure to delight you from November through February. And in the fall comes the season for mushrooms, which are highly prized in our region.
The “Le Chai” holiday rental, tastefully decorated and fully equipped with every comfort, features a private terrace, though you can just as easily enjoy the warm atmosphere of the enclosed courtyard with its patio to extend your evenings.
It is fully equipped and features four bedrooms, including one on the ground floor (accessible to guests with limited mobility, if needed) with three single beds and an adjoining bathroom/toilet, as well as a kitchen with a pantry that opens onto the living room, which features a wood-burning stove. Upstairs: two bedrooms with exposed beams (1 double bed and 2 single beds), as well as a small secret bedroom accessible through a closet—it’s the Narnia room!!! A bathroom with a toilet completes the upstairs floor.
Interior Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, DVD player, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, stove-oven, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, clothes dryer...
Bedding, towels, and tea towels are provided, and the rooms are made up upon your arrival.
