Extremely unkept and dirty apartment
I would say that if this apartment were deep cleaned and the dead plants (that are quite alive in the pictures) be changed out for live ones, it would be as lovely as the pictures depict and worth the stay. The level of dirt and grime is intolerable - the toilet has a brown stain indicating no one has even attempted to clean it in months. The kitchen cabinets have mouse poop in them and don't even have a complete dish/glassware set to use if we did eat there. (We obviously did not eat there at all because it was too dirty.) The kitchen chairs were extremely soiled with huge stains everywhere. The floor was so dirty you could feel it through your socks when you walked. We had to place the sofabed mattress on the floor because it was so bent out of shape. The amount of dirt, old food and whatever else there was stuck to the floor under the sofa was disgusting. The sofa was also stained on it's cushions. The list is very long - and I have pictures and videos to show I'm not making this up.
We were not able to find an alternative place to stay last minute that was affordable. We couldn't drag our three small children around Paris to find somewhere else to stay in the three days we had. VRBO refused to be held responsible and the owner has not answered us. No one should be allowed to rent an apartment in those conditions and VRBO should be either responsible or an advocate for the renters.
I waited to give this place a review in case my inquiry with the owner or VRBO had been attended to but almost a month after staying there we have had no answer.
