We had 10 adults and two children (under 3) and this property checked all our boxes for space, privacy, access to 'safe' swimming water and boat access. Truly a perfect spot for a large group that wants to hang together.

The lake views are stunning. The home offers lots of gathering spaces and the rooms are large. Everyone commented in the comfortable beds. The kitchen is well stocked with any supplies you need and tons of spices. The lake is shallow, clean and has a great sandy bottom. I recommend picking up some firewood on your way. Then sit back and relax. Your hosts are around and helpful. Kip even brought us gas when we ran out on our pontoon! I don’t recommend doing that! But it shows how willing they are to make sure your stay is great.

Had another great week at Higgins! Location is great and was very quiet and peaceful. Icemaker did not work but fortunately we were able to find ice at the nearby Dollar Store.

Crystal clear waters

Our family had a great week at Higgins Lake. A magnificent big house, stocked perfectly made for a fantastic week. Owners were very friendly and cooperative to insure that we had no issues. Definitely will return to this home, and recommend it highly!

Great Higgins Lake Rental!

This was the perfect house for a large group. The kitchen had everything we needed including two large refrigerators. The owners were great and very helpful. Thank you for sharing your house with us. We would definitely rent again!

Charming lakefront home. Beautiful craftsmanship in the house, with a lot of great seating for our large group. No swimmers itch from the 15 people who stayed here for a week. Owners very responsive and helpful!

Our favorite resort

This has always been a favorite of my family. The property is big enough to fit us all, but cozy enough to enjoy meals, games, and scary movies! The owners have always been very easy to work with. It's a bit expensive, but we're willing to splurge periodically because we love it! Thank you to the Shields family for sharing it.

Family Perfect

The lake view from the porch is spectacular! And the house accommodates many with the multiple bedrooms. Our 6 granddaughters loved the dormitory room. The owners were helpful and responsive. It felt like we were in a family’s beloved old lake house and we were lucky guests.

Up North - Lakefront Cottage

Great location for a mini family reunion. Friendly hosts were always available, although we didn’t need much that wasn’t already provided. The house is fully equipped with just about everything, and has plenty of comfortable gathering areas inside and out. Right on the water with a little sandy beach, and nice, clean and firm gently sloping sand as you enter the lake. It was the perfect set-up for our family get-together.

Forced Family Fun 4th of July

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location of the house was perfect and the hosts were staying in other homes on the property. Kip and Mike were very friendly and helpful. They were quick to respond to any minor issues that came up.We had the perfect family 4th of July week. We spent much of our time outside in the shallow waters just a short walk from the large deck. It is a spacious property and we had plenty of room for our group.This was one of our favorite family trips ever.

Higgins Lake Getaway

This is a lovely older home on beautiful Higgins Lake. It was a wonderful place for twelve family members to enjoy a week together. The living areas are large, and the kitchen met our needs for cooking three meals a day. It was wonderful to have two full size refrigerators. The lake is shallow, and we were able to walk out to the swim raft easily. We brought our pontoon boat and a paddleboard for fun on the water.

Beautiful home away from home

This really was a home away from home! From the time we got there to the time we departed, everything was just perfect. There were plenty of "goodies" included at the house, and we even got to meet Kip, the property owner, and his family. Very personable! Had a great conversation about the smoker that we brought since he's a collector of sorts. We're looking forward to returning again some day.
