We had a great stay. The house was exactly as shown on the website and the host was very helpful. She immediately mailed us some items that we accidentally left behind and provided us with tracking info. We would love to stay here again in the future!

Everything was absolutely magical from booking to check in to the experience of a beautiful beach house. The house is exactly as it’s described. The views are magnificent and everything you need for an amazing beach vacation. Thank you for an unbelievable experience. We will be back.
Love this part of Ponte Vedra and love the beach house feel of this property. Very private and perfect little house for a small group with a beach nearly all your own. Would highly recommend.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for visiting us again.
The photos of the property were exactly what the place looked like. Sitting on the porch drinking coffee and listening to the waves made it a great start for the day. Love this place!!
Perfect Old Florida style house right on the beach. Loved the "lots of windows, ceiling fans and big screened in front porch with an unreal view of the ocean". It was a very relaxing trip and I'd love to stay there again.
A nice clean little place with amazing privacy for a beach trip these days. The location could not be better! You can spend a whole lot more to have more house if that's your thing but if you're all about being outside and having room to roam this is the perfect place to do it. Nice place and really enjoyed it.

Hope you enjoy a great summer🌼
Come see us again soon
I’ve honestly never stayed on a beach that was so quiet, tranquil, and peaceful! I came here for a healing retreat and it certainly was a healing time. I especially appreciated that the property manager brought me fresh flowers on the very first day I arrived!

We are so happy you found peace at our home on the beach. Enjoy your summer and come back anytime.
This property is exactly as listed and promised, very clean and well maintained. Perfect for our TPC golf tourney weekend and beach getaway. Thoughtfully stocked and small touches all around. Misty is a fabulous communicator, check in and check out easy. Highly recommend! One small bathroom a minor challenge for two adult couples but easy work around really.

Thank you for staying at Oceanfront Hideaway PVB - we are sorry the weather did not cooperate, but we are glad you enjoyed our home. You are welcome back anytime
Clean, quiet, well stocked “old FL” beach home. Walk off the porch onto the sand. Plenty of comfy seating inside and out for snuggling in with a book. Super quiet beach…like it is your private beach. Less than 15 mins to groceries and restaurants. Enjoy a quiet, comfortable long weekend at this beautiful home just like we did. Thanks!

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay.
Thank you for treating our home so kindly.
Enjoy your spring.

Owner was very responsive to inquiries. The description related to the size/location and beach access are all as stated in the listing. It’s very private and the views and access to the ocean can’t be beat. The home is older, but i wasn’t there for stainless steel appliances and a garden tub. The property was cleaned prior to my arrival and all basic amenities were provided.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Oceanfront PVB. We hope you had a safe trip home and have a wonderful holiday season.
Let us know if you ever want to visit again.
The owner was very responsive and very nice which was greatly appreciated. Check in was easy. House was clean and tidy. This was the perfect little beach house for my visit to Florida to see my son and grandchildren. The house has everything you need to enjoy your time at the beach. The outdoor shower was nice and we really enjoyed sitting out on the covered deck. Dolphins were delightful to watch in the early morning and the sunrises were beautiful.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it if you like comfortable and cozy right on the beach.

So glad you had a great time …
Hope the rest of your summer is fabulous!
We (my wife, son age 7, daughter age 9 and I) booked the beach house for spring break. It was perfect for us. Right on the beach close enough that I was able to keep an eye on my kids from the screened in porch.
The house has everything you need for cooking in or grilling out. The private outdoor shower was great for rinsing off after a long day on the beach.
The house was very clean and close to Saint Augustine and the Jax Beaches. There are plenty of good restaurants within a short drive of the house. The check in and out process couldn’t have been easier.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. My kids loved it.

Thank you so much for treating our house so kindly. Hope you have a wonderful Spring.
Never had a chance to stay. Paid a week in advance and the day before my trip i recieved an email less than 24hrs before my trip that the room was u available and canceled still havent recieved my refund so paying for another place to stay was out of the question. My first time renting an a guesthouse for a vacation and i porbably wont ever again. Atleast a hotel can find you another room...
This beach house was a great little gem for my husband and I. We enjoyed our stay! The kitchen was fully equipped and we were provided plenty of towels. We loved how we could open all the screened windows and very much enjoyed the screened porch. We felt like we were home away from home.
A few things to keep in mind when renting this house, it is very close to the beach so naturally the wood and screen porch are weathered and worn from the sea mist. This is a perfect house for a couple or a family with older children. Young children would not do well in this house. There are no laundry options in this house - which would have been nice for us because we stayed here at the end of a 10-day vacation. The stairs leading to the house are very steep and it is a grassy driveway which we were not expecting.
Although the house seems to be in a remote part of the island, there are towns both north and south within a short drive if anything is needed.
Thank you for sharing your home with us!

In need of repair and maintenance
It was easy to contact the host, and we did find them to be responsive. The home is in an area that has lovely quiet beaches
I would be remiss if I didn’t share my concerns about the safety of this property. There is potentially a mold/mildew problem causing a musty smell. The deck is rotting and not only would be quite the bed of splinters for barefeet, but hazardous in my opinion as the boards bow and give when you walk across them. If you opt to visit this home please use extreme caution when standing near the railings. They are not sturdy. Flaked peeled paint is seen on multiple surfaces along with rust. While these are challenges of being in the salt air, a quick look around the area of other homes will show you that with regular maintenance and care it is that is avoidable.
When I addressed these concerns with the owner after one night a small portion of our rental cost was refunded. We are grateful for that accommodation, but somewhat disappointed in the amount they deemed a fair amount.
In the end we are home and safe.

Amy,
As you stated in your review, it was easy to contact us, and we were very responsive. That being said, if the condition of our home was so bad, why did you not report any and all issues to us as soon as you arrived?
To begin with there, is no mold nor mildew issue in our home! The roof was replaced September 2023, we have not had any water intrusion in our house.
Had you walked under the deck you would have seen that our wood decking is newer treated lumber and there are no rotting boards. The deck is very secure and steady. It was entirely replaced in August of 2020. The wood on the deck is hammered by winds from the sea and rain. It is repainted twice a year. There is normal wear and tear, which is constantly addressed.
Regarding the railings, you must have not been too concerned as both you and your adult son leaned over the railings numerous times and rested against the railings for an extended length of time.
Had you the opportunity to visit any of our neighbors ($6 million dollar homes) you would have seen flaked and peeling paint and rust - which is as minor as on our house.
We generously allowed you an early check-in and you did not contact us until 10:15 am the second day of your stay. When you described your issues, you also stated that you would be leaving in the evening of that day, after your husband and son finished visiting the Alligator farm. If things were so awful, why did you not go back home on the day of your arrival. After all you live here locally.
Check out time is 10 am. You did not leave until after 2:30 pm, which would not allow us time to clean the house and prepare for another guest. You were generously given back 2 nights refund. We contacted VRBO on the morning of your complaint, and they thought it was very generous of us to give you any money back.
We are consistently rated 5-stars by guests. Both the guests that stayed the week before you and the week after your stay rated us 5 stars!!! Maybe staying at the beach is just not for you.
The awesome: Peaceful location on the shoreline! Barely saw people. Missed seeing the turtle but there were tracks and a new nest one morning. Hostess is great. Texted useful information. Download Willyweather app. So accurate we subscribed during our stay. Screened in porch is awesome as it rained a lot. Older kitchen (70s?) but fully stocked. Extra linens, beach towels a plus. Beach chairs available in good condition. Spent our time on loungers outside. The not so bad: Disappointed to find we would not be able to use the garage like previous rentals. In our experience listings specifically state this when you cannot. The first picture in the listing is the double garage. We never did receive an answer as to who we could contact if we could not get in since we were arriving late. But owner kept in touch and code worked. Home is older as described by others. Bathroom needs remodel. It was fine for just my husband and me but we did not care for the super small shower. Hardware is rusted as described in other reviews. Ceiling 'mold' others describe seemed to be residual staining from a previous leak? Idk. House did not smell moldy and did not leak while we were there. Recommend painting ceiling. It's a little disappointing to see that for the price. The not so bad did not keep us from having an awesome trip. Overall hospitality and location are more important to us than the age of everything. Recommend for a couple looking for a quiet vacation.
This home sits on a beautiful section of the Ponte Verdra beach the waves crashing outside your door! We throughly enjoyed the sunrises each day and collected numerous shells on our daily walks on the beach . Diane was very attentive and even arranged for flowers to be there when we arrived that were just beautiful ! This is a little slice of paradise !
