Clean, well equipped house in nice location. Had a little trouble with the key pad for the front door lock, but i’m sure it will be addressed. Highly recommended rental.
Absolutely stunning location. If you want peace and quiet, this is your place. The place was spotless, comfortable and relaxing. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home.
The pictures really don't do this place justice. The view of the river is absolutely stunning. The house is clean and beautiful. Very comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

You won't be disappointed with this property and house. Very comfortable and all you need for a delightful getaway. Convenient to both Canton and Potsdam. Looking forward to returning!
The house was very clean, and had everything you would need! The beds were extremely comfortable, and the whole house was very cozy. The front of the house has big windows looking out over the River; it was a beautiful view and such a sweet little spot to spend a few days. There is a very nice hiking trail less than 1/2 mile away. We reached out to the owner about a concern and she was very communicative and helpful! A great stay; would highly recommend.
Lots of riverfront windows allow for a wonderful view of the Racquette river. Quiet location. The bathroom is small but manageable. Overall, we will come back!
The cabin was exactly as described. The property was super clean when we arrived. The kitchen and bathroom were very thoughtfully stocked with staple items. The 2 queen beds were very comfortable (we didn’t use the bunk bed to review it) The view of the river was gorgeous and the fireplace in the living room was very effective. The property manager was very responsive. We had a wonderful cozy week at the cabin of the Raquette River. Thank you!
This was a much needed respite from pandemic/remote school life for my birthday weekend. From the time we set foot in the door and saw the sweet birthday bear, candle and homemade cookies to snuggling in front of the fire watching movies and playing board games, this cabin was absolutely perfect. If you like to cook/bake when doing a getaway, this is a great place for that. I’ve never stayed somewhere that was better equipped for almost every possibility (tons of cook/bakeware and storage containers) and pretty much all cooking utensils you could need. The bar stools that were really more like awesome ADK branches woven together into stool were great for the kids to hang out with me while I cooked. One other excellent part that I loved was an abundance of extra blankets everywhere we looked. I’m always cold so that’s a necessity. My 8 year old had a blast turning the big closet upstairs into her play area and my 11 year old spent a lot of time on the river skipping rocks. We’re already planning on returning in the near future with my parents! (FYI there’s room for a couple to stay down off the kitchen and upstairs can sleep 4 between the twin bunk beds and queen bed- it’s a big room up there!)
The only issue we had was the bridge down the road is a steel bridge so it sounds like thunder every time a car crosses it. However, today it was closed and under construction so perhaps changing that? No matter, though, as we got used to the sound pretty quickly. Best stay ever and can’t wait to do it again!
Our family was looking for a secluded retreat that could accommodate our furry family member. We ended up driving over seven hours to get to this place, but we found it well worth the drive. The home was extremely cozy. It was very clear that the owners were out to provide their guests with a pleasant experience. This was accomplished with super comfortable beds, numerous comfy blankets, space heaters in every room, fluffy towels, ample Tim Horton's coffee for the Keurig, and all the kitchen necessities for some home cooking. The property was very thoughtfully landscaped. There was a great fire pit with the requisite Adirondack chairs. Little walking paths down to the super clean river, much-appreciated floodlights, and available canoes and a paddleboard were great touches. We didn't brave the watersports this winter, but we did explore the great hiking trail that we found within a five-minute walk of the house. This trail ended up being part of the Stone Valley Trail, an 8-mile loop with fantastic views of multiple waterfalls. The home was in a terrific location for short drives to take in the beauty of numerous other waterfalls. As you can tell, we really enjoyed our stay. For the sake of being thorough, there are a couple of critiques. The bathroom was on the smaller side with the shower tucked under the stairs. At 6'2", the shower was a struggle. However, considering that the hot water starts to run out after two showers, we weren't in there long anyway. Also, the bathroom would have benefitted from an exhaust fan. Any hot water made everything fog up. However, we made it work and split up our showers over the course of the day. The only other concern would be the lack of a door to the upstairs bedroom. The teenagers staying up there were woken up by the adults downstairs making their Tim Horton coffee. A nice barn door at the bottom of the stairs would be a great addition. However, these are small concerns that barely detracted from a wonderful stay. We would definitely return if the occasion presents itself.
This house is very cute and cozy.
They have a paddleboard and kayak that can be used for your personal enjoyment.
We were hoping we could use the bikes they advertised but the bikes weren't rideable, but we found other things in the area to entertain us. We took the dogs on a hike just two miles away and we went to the beach down the street.
The house was super clean inside so we wanted to make sure we left it even nicer than we saw it. I washed and dried their area rugs in the bedroom. They were so easy to wash. I swept, emptied the garbages and cleaned the porches.
The owner sent me two pictures of the rugs and demanded I pay a large cleaning fee to have them cleaned. Well when we were ready to leave at 11am our dog ran to me and got the area rug dirty, I left the houses cleaners our bleach and the rest of our tide detergent so they could wash it with the laundry. I knew it shouldn't have been a big deal. The owner didn't seem worried about it because I told her we washed them throughout the week and they washed nicely with a little bleach. She then went on to complain about a spot that was on the carpet which was from a spilled water bottle. We kept that place clean. We brought our own dish detergent and house supplies. We kept that place spic and span.
And she went ahead and charged my credit card the large fee, without my permission, because of a spot that was still wet when we left.
I can't say anything bad about this house because it is so comfy and cute, but I will say that I felt like they were adding extra charges on at last minute. We paid for the whole trip ahead of time and reserved their place with two dogs on the reservation. When we got to the house they sent us an extra fee for the second dog, which we thought we paid for in the beginning.
We had problems with their wifi and ended up spending a huge amount of money on our cel phone bill.
It's a lovely place, but I feel that they will look for any opportunity to charge you extra, for something or another.
I'm totally bummed it ended this way for us because my kids and I enjoyed our time there, but when they asked for more money twice on top of the service and cleaning fees, I feel was misled on the amount our trip would cost.
We had a wonderful stay. Cabin was better than advertised and extremely comfortable and clean! Well stocked and right on the water! If I had anything I would improve it would be the toilet in bathroom. Kind of slow to fill and difficult when 2+ people staying there. Otherwise it was perfect we will be back for sure 😊
The house was a perfect setting for our family to enjoy the celebration and stay together. We walked in and it was spotless and shinning...The 6 of us were able to stay together to enjoy as a family. It left us with a warm welcoming feeling.
We came together to celebrate a birthday at this beautiful house
The house was perfect for us. Everything was clean and comfortable. We loved being on the river. The (young adult) kids fished from shore and from the provided kayak and paddle board. They did well with small mouth bass!!
I loved the very close hiking trail, beautiful right along the water. We made a nice fire in the lovely fire pit, and had lots of available wood. Communication with the owner was easy .
I would recommend this property very highly, and I hope to return.
