The house is lovely. Nice big kitchen, yet it lacked a can opener and most of the pots and pans needed to be cleaned before they could be used. The fireplaces are beautiful, the sun rooms provided privacy and security for the little ones. We ran into some issues while the property manager handed quickly and graciously.
The listing is not accurate. There are many safety issues. The cabin is very beautiful. The location is breathtaking. However, it’s not very taken care of or clean. I visit the emergency room upon returning home because of an infection that I received from the hot tub.
We came out with a few friends and our kids, the place was perfect for our large group. The owners were easy to contact if we had any questions. We came to town for the Renaissance Fair in Muskogee for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We love the location on the lake. The view from the house was incredible. The kitchen was our favorite part of the house. Everyone could congregate and enjoy. The bar set up in the kitchen with a mini icemaker and a wine refrigerator was a brilliant idea. I love that there were two refrigerators. One in the kitchen for food and one in the basement for beverages. We love the view of the lake from the hot tub. The hot tub was big, clean, HOT (which was perfect). Our family built lasting memories.

Great house, but there may have been bed bugs.
The house was nice and seemed clean, but everyone in the house was getting bit by bugs in there bed. Babies and kids and adults all woke up with bug bites all over them. They did not look like mosquito bites and we hope we did not bring bed bugs to our home. They need to consider treating the place. Also the ice maker in both the fridge and dedicated ice machine was “broken” and left us with no ice for the weekend. Other than that, you have to walk a quarter mile up a hill to throw away trash. They did let us light fireworks which was awesome.

We take all reviews seriously and had the property inspected by a local pest control company. The company found no signs of bed bugs in any room in the entire property. I’m sorry you did not have ice, if you had let us know we would have brought you some.
we loved the whole property, the owners were very responsive to all of our questions throughout our stay. we had our wedding in the new barn and everything worked out great! we do hope in the future they put up outside lights on the walkways from the venue because it gets pretty dark in between that and the cabin.

The location is beautiful. The home is gorgeous. It provided the bones of a wonderful weekend getaway. The devil is always in the details. The home wasn't cleaned to a standard I've come to expect of VRBO listings. 1. There were mouse droppings in some of the kitchen drawers (one of the best kitchens I've seen at a vacation home, btw) 2. The grill was unusable. 3. There was mystery liquid dripping from the ceiling. 4. The trail to the lake was overgrown and made up of unsteady stones. 5. The hot tub wasn't sealed properly. 6. There was a large knife at the private waterfront. 7. The main deck was dangerous, with missing and rotting boards. 8. There were wasps nests near multiple entrances (this happens, would be understandable if other issues weren't present). 9. The lower level fridge smelled bad. Ultimately, it felt as if the hosts put less effort than required into maintaining the property, which could be great with a bit of care and attention. Despite this, we had a wonderful time and did our best to leave the place better than we found it. The property is gorgeous and we'd love to spend a weekend in this place again if those issues were accounted for.
1. The house had Roach traps and mouse traps everywhere. Even by the bed in the master bedroom were their mouse traps and roach traps 2. The back door that leads to the backyard locked us out five different times. It was not us, the lock is flawed so that sometimes when it shuts it automatically locks3. There are mouse droppings in the kitchen and under the kitchen sink4. Towels were not available in every restroom5. The toilet in the master bedroom broke during our stay and was not repaired. 6. There Outdoor deck has holes in the wood, which caused some of our family to tripThose are the facts about the house, but the worst fact about our experience, is that the owner keeps his hunting dogs in metal cages in close proximity to the home. These dogs are well fed, however, they are just left there in their cages and the Owner only feeds them once a day. They bark and cry from their terrible situation. It was incredibly cold when we stayed there One night it was 23 and the dogs were left outside in that temperature. The water in their cages was frozen. I did address my concern that the animals were not being in a safe situation, and the owner told me they were absolutely fine. I Pointed out that they were shivering and that it was going to get well below freezing and he said that’s not a big deal. I asked him if I could put blankets in there, wood and metal cages, and he said no . His sweet little beagles were subjected to the most brutal cruelty of Under

We also had a terrible experience with this renter and would not recommend. Her entire review is over-exaggerated and false.
All of our family meet for Christmas to celebrate together but separate from others. It was a wonderful place to stay. Everyone had enough room to run around and have their own space. I would recommend this place to any family wanting to get away.

About the host
Hosted by Bunner
We fell into this business and have enjoyed every minute of it. We really like meeting our guests and getting to know their families. We welcome many of our families back for multiple stays. We enjoy providing them with surrounding activities. Some just like to explore our property.
Why they chose this property
Our 60 acre property (Gray House Farm, LLC), with 4 lake cabin rentals and an event center, is completely peaceful and we are so excited to be able to share it with others. We like to call it our little homestead on the lake. Collect your own fresh eggs, when available, from our very own free range chickens. We currently have 1 rooster and 8 laying hens.
What makes this property unique
The area is 30 minutes to Tahlequah and 30 minutes to Muskogee. There are several things to do around the lake. Our favorite hangout spot is a short boat ride to Cypress Cove. They have live music, heated fishing dock, food for the catfish and ducks, and excellent food and spirits. We are sometimes available to water taxi.
There is also Sequoyah State Park. It’s a 20 minute drive or short scenic kayak trip. They have golf, horse back riding, hiking and biking trails, boating and fishing, as well as a nature center with a bald eagle, owl and other wildlife. Catch them at the right time for animal feeding.
Other ideas: -Pontoon boats for rent at Paradise Cove. -Whitehorn Cove has a restaurant on the water. -Tahlequah has an awesome Cherokee Museum and village. -Wagoner (10 miles) has a yoga barn and rope course and lots of antique stores. -Hulbert (5 miles) has a splash park for the kiddos. -Wildwood State Park 2 miles away with boat ramp, swim deck, camp grounds with showers. -15 minutes to scenic Fort Gibson, oldest town in Oklahoma.
