Great location & views. Very clean. Easy check in. Host very responsive. Only improvement would be to repair/replace the stove/oven. It works but oven door broken & gets very hot.

We are happy you enjoyed yourselves.l! Next time you visit, please let us know earlier of any issues and we will be happy to send over our Handyman.
We absolutely loved our stay! The house was very clean and was set up so perfectly. We loved being able to have our boat and jetskis right at the dock. The owners met us and assisted us getting our boat and jetskis on the lift. The house had towels, linens, blankets as well as every kitchen utensil you need. Thank you Christine and Christian for an incredible stay!!!!
This house was perfect for our family of 5! Everything was comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked, and we enjoyed dinner cooked at home with local farm goods! We also enjoyed fishing from the dock. Can’t wait to come back some day!
The house was everything we needed for a get away. The site next to the canal and lily pond was idyllic and we even got to watch an osprey feeding her young hatchlings! The house itself is set up for entertaining, cooking, and chilling. I especially loved that there was not a tv in the main living area so we could unplug, watch the boats and birds while the girlfriends caught up. Really away from it all but just a few miles to downtown. We hope to go back one day.
This is a great location overlooking the C&D canal, with a lovely pond flanking the property. It was the perfect place to host family members in town for a wedding. We rented the back apartment as well, which was cozy and comfortable. The hosts were welcoming and I appreciate their flexibilty as our dates changed as we solidified plans. I would stay here again without hesitation.
A very beautiful home on the C & D Canal. The home was very clean and beautiful, all Linens, pillows, towels were provided, which was very nice. We brought our new 22 foot pontoon boat over for a long weekend and found that at low tide, it was only about a foot to a foot and a half deep. Christine provided firewood and lighter fluid for our bonfire at night which was very nice. The only issue we had was we could not get the oven to work other than that everything was great. I would highly recommend this rental.
Enjoyed our stay at this peaceful waterfront home. Beautiful panorama of windows to appreciate the property from inside or outside. Across the canal are views of woods and beach so the home feels serene even though it’s not far out of town. Also last house at the end of a quiet road with a pond on one side. Saw otters, fox, osprey and deer. Fun swimming off the dock. Pleasant hike to another beach just 5 minutes away. Great place for playing board games, reading—can be as active or restful as you like. Liked watching boats and some big ships go by on the canal. Waterfront dining at nearby restaurants or stocked kitchen for those inspired to cook. Appreciated all of the little extras at the home. Excellent easy communication with hosts. Look forward to returning for a longer stay.
The house is as beautiful as it is in the listing pictures. The "nest" deck on top is really neat, and it allows you to watch all the large vessels go by the river-front property. This was one of the coolest houses I've been to, and it was very reasonably priced. Christine was incredibly kind and accommodating. We did not have a single issue. Hopefully I get to go back here one day.
What a wonderful home! Our family decided to spend a week on the water for easy access with our boat, and are we sure glad we did! This home was perfect for us, and allowed for us to make the most of our week. The views, the amenities, the dock, the location…it was all perfect. The homeowners were super friendly, helpful and accessible. We plan to return! This home on the C&D was perfect!
Really loved this place. Will come back for sure. Our boat lives most of the time on a trailer so having it ready to go on the lift all week was a great time saver and we got a ton of use out of it. Loved checking out the Canal, all the way to the Delaware Bay and all over the Northern Chesapeake. The views from the Main rooms are wonderful. Controllable AC in almost every room which made it comfortable for everyone. Plenty of storage space. Owners were very helpful and responsive. My sister rented the 1 bed room apartment on the end when she came to visit for a couple days so its flexible that way. Really the only bad thing (which really wasn't terrible and we worked around it), was the 2nd shower is a little too small for larger people. Still won't stop us from coming back.
We’ve stayed at roughly 15 properties along the upper Chesapeake over the last 20 years, and this might be our favorite of all the spots we’ve stayed at. Our stay was with six people for most of the week. Two adults and four children. My brother and his family came down for a night, giving us 10 for two days. We rented the main property and the adjoining apartment. I’d suggest, even for 6-8 people, renting both if they are available as it was great to spread out and not worry about other vacationers.
The property was well kept with good furniture for a group of our size and a well stocked assortment of kitchen equipment if you’re making your own meals. Everything was as-advertised for beds and other amenities. The views and water were awsome. During low tide there is enough shore to swim, the dock gives a place to crab and fish, or just sit out and enjoy the sun. Large lawn and very private with a pond area next door.
The difference maker for us was the little things that the hosts did to make this stay next-level. For instance, the fire pits didn’t just have logs in them day one, but also were “magically” (per my eight year old) refilled after fires.
Christine was great with communication from start to finish and made sure we knew what was going on. They had a few issue with the air conditioners and a tractor that broke down at the dock, but we’re on-the-ball with getting those things fixed and telling us what was happening.
Would stay again without hesitation.
Our group of 7 family members were in the area for a wedding and enjoyed staying in this comfortable home on the C&D canal. We especially enjoyed morning coffee outside watching boats on the water. This was a lovely quiet place for our weekend visit.
The house was very. open and spacious. The views from the the kitchen, living room and master bedroom were beautiful. I loved watching the big ships to by. We were able to spend the day relaxing in the water or on the deck. Really enjoyed our stay.
