Welcome to Woodlands!

Escape to nature at Woodlands Cottage. This charming century-old cottage nestled under the trees in Douglas, MI rests on a beautiful four-acre tree-lined property filled with old majestic Pines and Maples.

INSIDE THE HOME
Woodlands is tastefully decorated in modern-cottage décor that includes art work from the Saugatuck region. The main floor features a full bath and the king size bedroom, upstairs there is another full bath with two bedrooms.

OUTDOOR SPACE
Relax with your morning coffee in the porched-in dining room while looking out into the woods, or relax on the back deck and soak up the sun, or build a fire and relax with a glass of wine under the century-old Maple on the patio. Enjoy the sound of the wind rustling through the forest while watching the regional birds visiting the bird feeders, and don't be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a deer or two passing through the grounds.

The Fall season is a beautiful time to stay at Woodlands cottage. The foliage on the property and in the Saugatuck/Douglas area begins to change as early as late September and the color continues through to the end of October with the peak around the second and third week of October. The house is also redecorated for the Fall with decor and art from local area businesses.

THE LOCATION
While wonderfully secluded in a serene forest setting, this quaint little country cottage is only a short bike-ride away from downtown Douglas, the Dunes Resort, and Saugatuck.

Clean house in a quiet area

We had a great stay! Everything was clean. The outdoor area was great to have the firepit and a grill. It was close to dt douglas and saugatuk. Not too far from the beach! Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable, clean indoor space and we enjoyed a fun weekend exploring nearby Saugatuck. Rustic, wooded setting with very nice fire pit area. Unable to get the lights to turn on in the gazebo- may have been user error. :) Inside fireplace isn’t operational.

Very nice cabin in the woods!

We really loved our stay at Woodlands. The scenery was beautiful, easy to maneuver around the several local towns. Loved the backyard and dining room with all the windows.

Charming Cottage

Reminded us of earlier times that had been modernized for convenience. Loved the sunporch with a view of the birdfeeders and the woods! The kitchen was well equipped. We wished it had been warm enough to use the gazebo. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Nice long weekend getaway

Nice property close to Downtown Douglas and Saugatuck. Enjoyed the wooded setting and amenities such as the covered gazebo and firepit. The cottage was clean and well appointed, nice accommodations. Host had good communication and pictures of the property were accurate. Overall nice stay!

Comfortable house, amazing backyard!

Our family enjoyed our stay in July 2024 very much. The house was clean and comfortable, with almost everything we needed. Rooms were a tad smaller than pictures seemed to show. Backyard was incredible - we really enjoyed the screened in gazebo and the bird feeders. Overall, excellent!

Longtime friends

Lovely and relaxed little getaway for 4 friends for almost 40 years. House suited our needs for space. Kitchen was great and well equipped. Best feature was the darling gazebo, perfect for happy hour even when it rained. Loved the charm- just need to make it easier to lock the door when leaving.

Cozy cottage

We had a lovely stay in the woodland cottage. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with Dishes And cookware. We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders as we sat at the dinning table. On a rainy night we put together a jig saw puzzle. Sometime it would be nice to come back in warmer weather and take advantage of the campfire and gazebo.

Great get-away in the woods!

We enjoyed five nights staying in this cabin, which is actually closer to Douglas than Fennville. Worked perfectly for my older teens to stay upstairs and share that bath, and my husband and I to be on the main floor. We had a few maintenance issues on the first day, but they management company quickly responded and took care of our concerns. The one thing that wasn't resolved was we couldn't get the dishwasher to work.

Peaceful, woodsy cottage

It was close to Saugatuck, 10 minutes away, and easy to find. It was perfect for 2 couples. We enjoyed the enclosed backyard gazebo. If you want peace and quiet, this is your place. The listing said the home was air conditioned, which it was. However, the air barely reached the two upstairs bedrooms. After a call to the realty company, our problem was quickly solved with an upstairs window air conditioner. I would definitely list with Jacqua Realty Co. again! Thank you!
