This remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is located within walking distance of Arizona State University and Mill Avenue, which is the heart of downtown Tempe. City bus routes and a light rail system make this location quite desirable. The property is close to Sun Devil Stadium, Grady Gammage Auditorium, Tempe Center for the Arts and Tempe Town Lake, which is the home of the annual Ironman Triathlon and numerous other events. The AZ Cardinals stadium is a 30-minute drive away so this property is a perfect location for AZ Cardinals games and the annual Fiesta Bowl. If interested, the owner often has extra AZ Cardinals tickets. The nightlife of this college town makes this home ideally located for those who want to vacation in a quiet neighborhood close to where the action is. Since the property is very centrally located in the metro Phoenix area, you can hang out in Tempe or go anywhere in the metro Phoenix area very quickly and inexpensively. Executive as well as designer golf courses are nearby. A short drive will take you to numerous spring training facilities. The Phoenix Zoo is less than five miles away. The living room, all bedrooms, and the backyard patio are equipped with cable television. The beautifully landscaped backyard features a covered patio and gas grill. The interior of the house is newly furnished with contemporary furniture. This property can accommodate 6 guests but, if you need to find lodging for more, we own 2 other vacation rentals on the block. You can see them up at VRBO.com/395773 and VRBO.com/933406. Those properties both have pools. You will not be charged a cleaning fee at any of our 3 properties. The property can accommodate a family gathering but cannot accommodate a large event. Great location

We enjoyed walking along the river and throughout Tempe. It was also a short trip to visit friends in Scottsdale. We especially loved the backyard for grilling, playing frisbee with our dog and relaxing at the end of the day.

Great stay for race

Property was exactly as listed. Check-in was easy and Shirley provided a personal contact with details for access to the property. There are lots of extras available which makes it so much easier than having to buy coffee and condiments. It was the perfect place to stay for the RnR marathon.

We stayed here for our daughter's ASU graduation. It was perfect for us. Close to campus and restaurants. Being able to park in the garage and get the car out of the sun was awesome. I wish we had stayed here for earlier visits.

This house is supplied with everything you could probably need. Loved the backyard, especially if you are bringing dogs or just enjoy lounging outside. Shirley and Pete were very attentive and quick to respond with any questions and anything that needed attention.

Thanksgiving time together

The casita was wonderful. It was immaculate with abundant amenities. Shirley was very responsive and helpful. The dogs loved the backyard and were sad to go home as were we. Will be back if we can find an open booking slot in the schedule, stays booked which should tell you everything you need to know about the property!

In All Ways Perfect

We could not have asked for a cleaner, more comfortable place to spend a week. Pete and Shirley are excellent hosts, even coming by to put together a bunch of new patio chairs so we’d have enough for a small party we were having there. Confirmed beds, plenty of drawer and closet space, fully equipped kitchen, even a laundry so we could wash clothes and towels as needed. The spacious yard gave us all the room we needed for our friends. We would rent this place again in a heartbeat!

Outstanding Hosts

This property is extremely well equipped and maintained. It had everything we needed and more. Shirley and Pete were available anytime we needed them if we had a question or needed something fixed. On one occasion we left town for an overnight, and once on our way, wondered if we closed the garage door. I texted Shirley and she actually drove to the property to check for us. We loved the area with numerous restaurants and a Whole Foods within walking distance.

Our Guardian Angels!

Shirley (and Pete) helped us get into their adorable house, same day. Our AC went out and we needed to move ourselves, our 7 year old Goddaughter and critters as quickly as possible. Their house was comfortable, we had great wifi for work and the dogs loved the yard. We appreciate the flexibility with our timeframe and making sure we were safe and comfortable. Great outdoor space for when it isn't a million degrees out! Thank you both ❤️

Home away...

A great location in Tempe if connected at all to ASU. Just a few small blocks to University Ave and then just a few city-blocks to the corner of Mill & University. A bus line a few houses away offers a 10-minute ride to the transportation center right outside the stadium. A cute city park is at the opposite end of the block from the bus stop. The house is cozy but comfortable in a quiet neighborhood. Shirley and Pete stopped by without being intrusive to make sure everything was good. They seem to care about their guests, their property, and their community. Will stay again.

Fantastic stay

Our visit was exceptional. The home itself and our communication with the owners exceeded our expectations. This was our first visit and we came to cheer on our daughter in law who finished her first Ironman with great times. This home was perfect for the 5 of us. Our son really appreciated the bikes so he could get back and forth to the race without concern for car parking. We enjoyed most meals in the VRBO or in the lovely garden. Cooking was easy with the well equipped kitchen. Pete and Shirley are awesome hosts and we would love to come back again. Thanks so much!!

Comfortable home

This property is clean and in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. Restaurants and park within walking distance. Well stocked home with functioning appliances, clean linens and plenty of towels. Furnishing is not luxurious but comfortable and well placed. Large, maintained lawn which is great for dogs. Relaxing patio sitting area with BBQ and TV. Hosts are helpful and easy to contact. Would recommend this property.

Comfort and Convenience in Tempe!

We enjoyed a comfortable stay at The Casita and appreciated every aspect of the property. The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen is well-equipped, the common areas are nicely outfitted, and the sunny backyard is an oasis. Lastly, the location is perfect for exploring many local attractions including the Botanical Garden, Zoo, Papago Park, and the downtown areas of Tempe and Scottsdale.

This was Shirley's first house, which she bought in 1985. When we got together and Pete's son moved in with us, we moved to a larger home two miles away. But, we love the university area. There is always something to do close by -- a concert, a festival, a sporting event, or just taking a walk. We will probably move back to our ASU house in the next few years so, when we recently remodeled it, we decorated it with care. We hope you enjoy! - Shirley and Pete

Why they chose this property

It is fun to live in this neighborhood. It is quiet but close to a lot of activity. ASU students as well as home-owners live throughout, making the neighborhood upbeat and lively. Pete and Shirley have lived in the area since 1985.

What makes this property unique

The house is conveniently located to ASU and the numerous activities that occur there. You can always find something to do within minutes. A dog park is located at the end of the street so it is entertaining to just sit in the front yard, watching the neighbors walking to the park each night.
