Great stay with a great view

The hardware Inn is a great place to stay if you’re looking for something that is quiet, peaceful, and offers a great view of the river. It was easy to access and the owners were very, very easy to work with.

We loved the history of the inn and the location on the river. Our suite was very clean and comfortable. It was so easy when we arrived, we had our own entrance door and lock code.

A great choice

We stayed with our 6 year old grandson while visiting The Wilds. The Ely Suite was spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen and plenty of room to spread out. A much nicer choice than a cramped hotel room. Communication from the owner was excellent and helpful.

Great space and awesome hosts

This was a wonderful stay and a perfect spot for our family. Room for plenty of people to stay and socialize in, full fridge for food and drink, oven for cooking and comfy rooms to stay in. Love the feel of Stockport and having this place to stay is ideal. The only drawback was the VRBO listing says there are 2 queen beds and there is only 1. That needs to be updated. But that’s minor in the grand scheme of things. Thanks for a great stay!

Unique and Interesting

The suite was unique and so interesting! I would have enjoyed staying more than one night. The floor did have some locations that could be trip hazards for my mom who has difficulty walking. But, that was the only issue we had with the location.

Great place to stay

I was in town with my dad for an overnight and stayed at the hardware inn. I have stayed there multiple times before, it was as clean and convenient as always. My dad commented many times about how nice the Ely sweet was. Travis is always extremely accommodating and great to work with. We will be staying here again when we come back to the area.

Peaceful getaway

The property is a historic building with a nice view of the river and the old mill. It's not fancy, but it's comfortable and has lots of space, including a great enclosed sunporch and a large deck. Stockport is a tiny town within a reasonable drive of good hiking in the Wayne National Forest units nearby and some other towns with good restaurants and historical sites. The host was very helpful providing information about the area, and he even got a grill and charcoal on the deck for us before we got there.

A little about us...
My husband Travis and I are proud parents to two energetic toddlers. We live in Waterford, where my husband grew up, and love spending time with our family.
We fell in love with this inn upon seeing it, and dreamed of making it our own. A lot of long days, some minor renovations, and the help of family and friends has made that dream a reality.
We hope this inn will bring joy and happiness to our family and yours!

Why they chose this property

Located in Southeastern Ohio, on the Muskingum River, the Hardware Inn of Stockport was constructed from a building that served the area as a hardware store from 1851 until 1999. Inside are remnants of the original building, from the beautiful hardwood floors to back staircase which led to a meeting room upstairs. The Hardware Inn of Stockport has many options available to serve you from a quiet romantic getaway, to a family retreat!!
