Perfect ski getaway

Everything about our stay and the house was amazing! From before our stay, when Janet was very responsive and extremely helpful with any questions we had, to the welcome basket that was awaiting our arrival, everything was above and beyond. We had two families, with 14 people, and never felt on top of each other. The location was perfect in relation to the resort and the town center, and every morning we skied-out via the trail behind the house making our mornings so much easier. We would highly recommend staying here and would absolutely stay at this lovely property again!

A beautiful home and a great time!

Our group had a fabulous time! The accommodations are over the top! Loved the unbelievably well stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Beds were super comfy and slept well! The radiant heat in the floor was wonderful. It was great being able to ski out and down to the lifts and then wander along through the neighborhood to find our way home. The directions posted got us back from the slopes with no problem at all. I highly recommend, you’d have a great Tim, too!

Great trip to Big Sky

We had a wonderful week in this lovely home. We had three families with children. The kids built snow forts in front of the home, skied, zip lined and went tubing and dog sledding during the week. Adults skied and did some fly fishing one day. Easy access to the trails and lifts from the home. The house was very clean, fully stocked for all of our needs and extremely comfortable for our three families. We had a couple of questions and support needs and the response times were exceptional. I would highly recommend this home.

Great place for a group.

Overall very positive. Very well equipped. Lots of handy info. Very responsive owner/manager. The hot tub and spa were well appreciated. There were 9 of us staying and we had plenty of elbow room in the kitchen to all make our individual breakfasts. Kitchen has everything you need including lots of spices etc. Views from the house of Lone Peak are fabulous. Only negative is ski back requires heading to specific lift and tow rope plus some stairs and walking/poling. Might be a challenge for small children or snow boarders. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing vacation destination for families!

Our family of five just spent a week in this beautiful home and are already looking forward to going back next summer. The home is stunning with a fun rec room for the kids, a fully stocked kitchen for cooking, and a gorgeous backyard that feels like you're a part of the Montana wilderness. Occupants also have access to the Moonlight Lodge/Resort which offers a wide variety of activities and amenities. My husband loved the golf course (I don't golf), and I loved cruising with him on the cart and enjoying the beautiful views. We all spent time on the large pond at the resort paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking. We were able to mountain bike, swim in the pool and enjoy the fully stocked game room. There are amazing hikes nearby and Yellowstone is about thirty minute drive. I highly recommend this home for any and all families!

Magnificent

Our stay in this house was truly perfect. Every single exchange with the owners, from first to last, was so pleasant, gracious, inviting, and helpful. The property itself is magnificent, the location is fabulous, and the amenities included as part of the stay were truly special. We arrived as two families with five total kids - ages ranging from 7 to 15. There was more than enough space for us all, and we could have fit at least one more family! The home is beautiful, beautifully appointed, perfectly organized, and has everything a visitor could ever conceive of having on a dream vacation. Even now, I really can't imagine how it could have been better. Not only do I recommend it to others, but I also hope to go back myself someday!

Acheatel house in Big Sky MT

This was a terrific house in a great community. We had a large group of 12 people and the house had a bedroom for all of the family groups. There was literally nothing that we had to buy for the house except food. It was the best appointed house in which we have stayed through VRBO, The owners were terrific and responded to all requests and comments very quickly. Everybody in our group (3 families with children) were very positive about the house and the area. The level of attention to detail from the owners (Larry and Janet) was unprecedented in my experience. The signature membership to the Moonlight club was very useful for the kids in the group. The views were epic and the available activities in the area were terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be looking forward to returning.

NOT ski in, ski out

The house is amazing and has everything you need for a week of skiing. However, it is NOT ski in/ski out. You can make it out ok, but you must cross roads and to me that is not cool. As for getting back, its pure torture! We did it the first day and it was horrible, made our day go from awesome to extreme anger! Now we drive to the moonlight basin and park every day. Thank goodness we didn't bring the kids, because they would have never made it back to the house. I really think it should not be advertised as ski in/out!

Phenomenol Home - Love the Moonlight Membership perks

We just spent a fantastic week in Swift Bear Retreat and this is truly a fantastic home. The layout suited our five couple group very well and we had room left over if we want to bring kids in the future. The kitchen is perfect for group gathering and well stocked for cooking. The ski in/ski out is a bit cumbersome, especially if there is a little bit of warm weather and the snow melts off the streets. However, the big perk is the owner's membership to the Moonlight Basin Club includes their rental guests. We drove to the private parking lot a mile away and left our equipment in the locker each night. Very easy this way. Overall, the house is five star all the way. Just take the owner's advice and use the Moonlight Basin Lodge as your starting and stopping point and skip the ski-in/out issues.

The most well-appointed rental home ever

This is, simply put, the most well-appointed rental home I've ever stayed in. Every detail was thought out for guests. All the light switches and cupboards and drawers are labeled, and are filled with high-quality cookware. There is a robust supply of spices and other cooking necessities like olive oil. I especially appreciated the two coffee pots in the morning so we could have regular and decaf! I also loved the extra things that I didn't expect, like a cast iron pan and small appliances like a waffle maker. If you have little kids, you have access to a high chair, pack and play, and crib. The little things all added up to a fantastic in-home experience. The house is also set up nicely for 3 groups. We had 3 families staying, and there were 3 "wings" with two bedrooms each, which gave us all our own space to retreat to at the end of the day. The back patio is gorgeous (we used the Cowboy Cauldron every night), and there are plenty of outdoor games like cornhole and horseshoes.

Better than Advertized

Although the pictures and description of the house, its furnishing and location were outstanding, we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. Walking into the main living area, we were amazed with the breathtaking view of the mountains. The house was extremely well appointed, particularly the gourmet kitchen with a Viking range. It was a pleasure to prepare dinners at the end of a long day skiing. Ski in/ski out was easy enough (although the trip home was a little more complicated for some in our group). The best option, however, was to use the Moonlight Club as our starting and ending point. About a mile from the house, the Moonlight Club provided easy ski access and a place to meet for après ski. Then back to the house for dinner and the hot tub. Most importantly, the care taken by the owners to outfit the house and make it user friendly was extremely evident. Everything in the house was carefully explained and the owners could not be more helpful and accommodating. Finally, the mountain was spectacular -- great skiing and wonderful vistas. We also were able to forego skiing for a day to explore Yellowstone by snowmobile -- another great day. Overall, I highly recommend this property and Big Sky generally.

Home Sweet Home

This rental will quickly feel like your home away from home. We were a group of 12 that included three generations. We created some awesome memories. Coming from a Type A personality, I was impressed at how organized and clean this home was. Kitchen cupboards were clearly labeled as were the bedroom dressers. We didn't need to look long for anything. Also impressive was how stocked this place was. We have never been to a place that had these many small appliances, kitchen gadgets, and cooking tools. Also, the available spices came in very handy. There were plenty of towels and basic supplies in each bathroom and a separate set of towels for the hot tub. The hot tub itself worked great and provided amazing views. We took advantage of everything this place had to offer. While we heard of Big Sky's great restaurants, we didn't venture out after a great day on the slopes. The massive dining table and BBQ were all we needed. The only caveat to this amazing place is that while it is a true ski out (seriously the cutest trail to get to the lift), the ski in route is a difficult task. The drive from the house to the main ski base though is only five minutes. And truthfully, that short drive was a welcomed treat after a long day. If you take a short stroll to the end of the road, there's an amazing view of the town below, which is exceptionally beautiful at night. I can only imagine how incredible this place would be during the rest of the year. We were fortunate though to take in the splendour of the mountains during the winter... There is literally nothing blocking your view.

Fantastic home and hosts!

Our group of 15 (10adults/3kids/2babies) stayed at 14 Swift Bear the week of Feb 25. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the mountain, the Moonlight Club, and the Big Sky area. We loved it so much that we rebooked for next year immediately. Janet is an amazing host who will answer every question you have with fast turn around. She is available by email to help in anyway. She is lovely to work with. Additionally, the house was extremely clean, well stocked, and user friendly. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in. While the house is considered a "luxury" home, it is also extremely comfortable. Even with 3 small families and additional adults, everyone had their own space. The rec room was wonderful for the kids. The access to the Moonlight Club is an additional feature that was well worth the small fee. The staff there was overly friendly, the ski locker was so convenient, and it was a great starting point to get to any part of the mountain quite easily. The location of the club is right in the middle of the mountain and a great spot to meet for lunch. While ski in and out was easy for the members of our group who chose to do so, our family found it easiest to take the quick drive to Moonlight and ski out of there simply because of the convenience of the locker. We started everyday buying our lift tickets at the club and ended every day with a swim in the gorgeous pool. We enjoyed apres ski there almost every evening. The Big Sky area is a wonderful vacation spot for skiers and non-skiers alike....Six of us skied almost everyday, another group cross country skied and snowshoed around Ulerey's Lake, and the others just enjoyed the house and some yoga at a local center. We fell in love with Montana two summers ago, and enjoyed the winter just as much. We have enjoyed skiing in Colorado, California, Whistler BC, as well as at our local resorts on the east coast, but nothing compares to Big Sky. Nothing beats skiing up to an empty chair lift almost every run. We enjoyed the house so much, we have already booked for the 2018 ski season. Additionally, we used Yellowstone Alpen Guides to snowcoach through Yellowstone to Old Faithful and enjoyed the Montana Yurt dinner. We highly recommend both!

Fantastic property for skiing with large group at Big Sky

Highly Recommend. We were 5 couples for 1 week and 9 adult family members the 2nd week What was great about this house? 1. Skiing from this house is fabulous. See more below about skiing out (very good), skiing in (possible but not so good), and skiing in and/or out from moonlight club (excellent). Great ski and boot storage in rec room, 3 steps from ski in ski out trail. 2. Kitchen was great. One of best ever we have had in a rental. We cooked in on 11 nights. Kitchen is very large and allows 5/6 people to be working at the same time. Nice bar for 3 more people. Very well equipped-- cooking equipment, spices and much more. 2 refrigs. 3. Great hot tub. Used it everyday. Many times we had 6/7 people. 4. Wonderful bedrooms. All 5 had king sized beds! Large windows with views. Plus rec room had 4 more beds including 2 doubles. Bedrooms very private. House a on one floor-- no noise disturbed early sleepers/ late risers. Only 2 have en suite bathrooms, one has bath down the hall, & 2 share a bath. 5th bath in rec room. 5. Wonderful 10 person dining room table. 6. Excellent wifi. 7. Good fireplace once you learn how to use it. 8. Great views of Lone Mountain and snow forest. 9. Homeowner, Janet, was extremely responsive to all of our requests. 10. Access to Moonlight Basin Club is an unbelievable benefit. 3 minutes away from the house. Great member parking 50 feet from club. Best place ever to buy lift tickets. Large locker comes with the house. Great for lunch & after skiing drinks. 11. Radiant heated floors--kept us toasty More on ski out/ski in. Options below. We did them all with experienced skiers. 1. Ski out is extremely easy. Ski trail is 3 steps out back door of rec room. 2 to 3 minutes to White Otter lift (4 to 5 minutes lift ride) which takes you above mountain village. From there you ski 2 to 3 minutes to main base area. Make sure to take quick right off trail to avoid slow explorer lift. Caution: be careful when you cross the residential road(s)on way to & from slopes. One day trail was partially blocked by snow by plow. Another day snow plow cleared road to bare surface 2. Ski in is possible --not easy. Worse on powder days with soft snow. 3. Drop car at Moonlight Club and ski out and ski back to Moonlight 4. Ski out and have driver pick you up at Moonlight Club or Mountain Base 5. Drive to Moonlight. Ski out and Ski in and leave skis overnight in locker

Best family experience!

Thirteen family members gathered to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in this wonderful Big Sky home and enjoyed every minute there…everything was provided, from recreational extras (ping pong table, basketball, skeeball and many games) to the best equipped kitchen I’ve ever seen. The view alone is spectacular, but the back porch, sauna and hot tub were thoroughly enjoyed. And the ease of check-in and communication with both the owner and property manager was great….Thank you for a wonderful and very memorable vacation!

Our back yard views were amazing. The house was clean and spacious.

The house was equipped with little extras that most rental properties don't have. For example, a little box of common medications. Lots of extra kitchen items, plenty if extra linens, soap and shampoo in all the showers. We were very pleased with our stay. Do not leave garbage cans at the road! We did simply because that is where they were when we arrived and a bear or bears tore 7 to 10 bags of trash out all 9ver the road. We also enjoyed seeing lots of wildlife right in our back yard.
