The unit is lovely and we had a nice stay. It was very quiet and peaceful. We loved all the birds who came to visit us on the patio. The unit is a bit dated and could use new carpet. USB charging ports in the bedrooms and new hair dryers would bequick and inexpensive upgrades.

Mahalo for your comments. We’re glad you had a nice, peaceful stay and enjoyed the birds visiting the patio. We appreciate your feedback on the carpet and will have our operations team review it. Thank you as well for the suggestion to add USB charging ports. We’re sorry the hair dryers were not up to par, and had we known during your stay, our team would have been happy to replace them. We hope to see you again. With aloha, MRR

Great Location!

This is a great location and resort! It was very clean and had everything we needed—plenty of towels, soap, etc. We used their transportation service several times to go to different places on Maui, and those guys were great. They were always on time, funny, and great people. We would definitely stay again!

Great accommodations in Maui

Lovely newer property near Kaanapali. The furnishings were very comfortable and the unit was spacious. Plenty of room with 2 teenagers along for the trip. Parking was convenient- either in the below ground lot or by valet. Definitely a top notch accommodation.

Perfect!

We loved staying here! It has a wonderful view from the balcony. The property manager was quick to respond and send maintenance when needed for the dryer. Highly recommend staying here. It was so nice to make our own meals or eat at the resort. Love!

Fantastic condo

The Honua Kai is a world class property, and this condo is a jewel within. Our group of 7 was easily accommodated. Don’t miss out on opening the wall to the lanai and enjoying a superb outdoor space with seamless flow indoors. Communication with the property manager was seamless and smooth making us feel like VIPs. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Enjoyed It

We've stayed at Honua Kai before. We always enjoy the property and location. We get late flights out and would really like to see a courtesy shower w changing room. Unfortunately, we have to shower at the beach rinse station. Otherwise.......it's Maui and it's awesome!

The only bad thing was that we asked for an early checkin at least a week prior, we were told it would happen, but then it was only an hour prior. We would've happily paid a fee to check in early if it was offered. We had been up for 36 hours by that point and were exhausted.

Aloha Tosha and mahalo for your comments. We understand the challenges of long travels days and are sorry you were disappointed with the check in time. We're very cautious to promise early check ins as we do not know in advance if a room will be ready early. Your reservation was noted with your request for an early check in and our records show our team reached out to you shortly past 2pm. We hope to see you again. Amazing Trip

We were so happy staying at Honu Kai. This resort was in a great location. The 4 pools and hot tubs were awesome! The beach was beautiful! We did walk down a little bit in order to swim. Having Dukes restaurant right on property was ideal for lunch or dinner. The food was great and the view was beautiful. There is a walking path that runs in front of the resort to black rock, that was great for walking or running (only 2.5ish miles there and back). There were grills on property to use too. The unit itself was great. There were two huge bedrooms with king beds and each had full attached bathrooms. My daughters shared the pull out couch in the large living space. The lanai was beautiful, we had breakfast daily there and two dinners too. The kitchen had everything we needed. The resort had 4 beach chairs (that we did use, as the chairs near the pool were hard to come by at times), and a cooler bag that was very helpful. Staying on Kaanapali beach was a great location to quickly get in Lahaina, restaurants and exploring other beaches. I think the property and the unit itself were well maintained and I would def recommend this location for families! I want to go back:)

Good overall

A good experience overall. The pools were much smaller than the pictures. Condo is very spacious and comfortable. Especially liked the tommy bahama chairs to take to the beach.

Lovely Vacation!

The Honua Kai is an extremely nice beachfront property on West Maui, with several pools. Our condo was clean and well furnished. Maui Resort Management was quick to respond to anything we needed. The only suggestion I have is that the Konea tower needs a properly staffed front desk for check-in! Right now it’s a lonely bellman at the valet stand who is extremely overworked with a constant line of customers!
