The gentle sound of the waves will lull you to sleep at night in your 25 m² bedroom, which features an adjoining walk-in closet and a bright bathroom that opens directly to the outdoors. Your 70-square-meter home, featuring a very large wraparound veranda with ocean views, is built using traditional materials (natural stone, wood). Depending on your preference, you can enjoy the outdoors on the large semicircular terrace with a living and dining area, or relax indoors where the fully equipped open-concept kitchen and dining area still offer ocean views. For quiet evenings, high-speed fiber-optic internet provides access to numerous channels for a good film. As an additional service upon request, we offer “Cap Massage,” which can come to the villa to give you a massage after a walk or to help you unwind from your long flight. RIGHT ON THE WATER: the ocean is just 30 m from the gate

For large families, we have two other spacious homes nearby that can be rented at the same time. They are attached but offer plenty of privacy; only the gate leading to the beach is shared with the other houses

EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE HAS A VIEW OF THEINDIAN OCEAN

We’ve done everything necessary to ensure that all living areas have a view of the Indian Ocean and the pristine lagoon of Grand Fond. The lagoon isn’t very deep, but it’s teeming with small, colourful fish and corals; you can admire them as soon as you step into the water with a mask, snorkel, and lagoon shoes. To the left of the house is Z’Aigrettes Beach, a 3-minute walk away—a fisherman’s paradise and a very large beach where families love to gather on Sundays to swim in the small “coulines” with their children, Finally, we’ll give you all the details about the island’s safe beaches, all of which are between 3 and 10 minutes by car from the house.

Now let’s talk about the practical details: From breakfast—with a traditional coffee maker or Nespresso machine—there’s everything you need to live completely independently (laundry facilities and a fully equipped kitchen). A cool, refreshing, air-conditioned atmosphere in the bedrooms with private bathrooms; fans in the living areas; a sun lounger that can be placed either in the warm sun or in partial shade; and a lush front garden that you’ll walk through after parking your car in the house’s private car park. With the layout of our home, your holiday will be relaxed right by the beach yet with all modern comforts.

A TRADITIONAL HOME WITH ALL MODERN COMFORTS

We built this house in 2013 using traditional Réunion craftsmanship, with lava stone walls, thatched roofs, and ventilation designed to maximise airflow from the natural trade winds. The floor plan is simple, and every room offers unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean.

DAILY AMENITIES WITHIN A 3-MINUTE WALK

You can start your day with a 3-minute walk to pick up the famous geranium-flavored brioche from the excellent Casta bakery, along with the day’s newspaper or national publications at the small tobacco shop.

If you’re not much of a morning person, you can still do your shopping in the same area starting at 8:30 a.m. and buy your fish for lunch; the small supermarket has a wide selection; otherwise, you can also buy your local fish at the Saint Gilles harbour, which receives daily catches from deep-sea fishing boats and also offers a catering service: the famous fish tartare with honey and ginger, tuna rillettes with saffron... All of this is fresh daily, and while you’re there, a produce vendor in the centre of Saint Gilles will offer you the freshest exotic fruits and vegetables from Réunion
