About this property
Spacious Mountain Retreat, central location, great for Groups, Sleeps 14
Location, Location, Location!
The Bartlett Village House is the perfect White Mountain get-away for your private group, whether family or friends, skiers, hikers, retreaters or other, we are happy to have you here!
Winter, spring, summer or fall, there is SO much to do just steps outside our door...
The White Mountains have long been known for their natural beauty and stimulating recreation. Whether you choose to explore the many hiking trails, visit the theme parks, shop at the outlet malls & boutique shops, sight-see, or ski, you’ll discover spectacular scenery, covered bridges, fresh water rivers and lakes, picturesque towns and villages, and nature's playground all around you.
Catering to Private Groups :)
With 3-stories of living space (7 guestrooms + 3.5 baths) and a private backyard with within walking distance to the Saco River and nearby hiking trails, there is plenty of space to s p r e a d out or come together. Enjoy cooking meals together with our commercial 6 burner stovetop with double ovens and griddle, dining together in our large formal dining room, relaxing after a long day of adventuring by the cozy fireplace in the living room or wind down with a glass of wine or hot cup of tea in the jacuzzi tub.
History, Circa 1890...
Built in 1890, this house began as a private residence, but by 1918 was operated as an Inn/Restaurant by Gertrude Thompson whose husband worked as a foreman on the railroad. In 1945 it was purchased by Sanford Hill who renamed it the Chippanock Inn (bright north star). He continued to operate it until his death in the early 1990'S.
Historic beauty and charm with just the right modern updates, and nestled in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire, The Bartlett Village House is the perfect location to get-away with your private group that you will want to return to again and again for years to come.
