About this property
BEAUTIFUL SOUL REJUVENATING MONTANA CABIN AND LOCATION
Our unique Montana cabin and location has refreshed and rejuvenated the souls of many and we are happy to offer you the opportunity to enjoy our special spot! Personal refreshing, enjoying the company of loved ones, birthing new dreams it all seems so easy from our peaceful retreat. Pour a cup of coffee, settle in to our Adirondack timber gliders and may your peace and joy ignite as you reconnect with the glorious natural sounds and sights found most profoundly in the quiet of an early morning and evening in Montana. From our cabin's oversized porch listen for the distant honking of geese over Echo Lake and soak in the majestic grandeur of the Swan Mountain Range. Our Montana "get away" has been called over and over again by family, friends and groups as "the perfect spot" for refreshing the soul, connecting and reconnecting and making lifelong memories. We hope during your stay you will experience some of our breathtakingly beautiful star filled nights, and perhaps, even through the master bedroom's two walls of oversized windows experience the brilliance of Montana's full moon, soft tree silhouettes, night shadows and tranquil wildlife. Our 1000 ft cozy cabin, constructed in 2019, sits on a hilltop in the center of 26 treed acres where many deer, turkey and birds have chosen to call home. This 26 acre property is bordered by state land which helps enhance your private remote feel while also conveniently located a close 6 miles from the quaint fun town of Bigfork and a 1/2 mile or walking distance from the Echo Lake fishing/boating/ swimming public access. Inside the main cabin area you'll find clean freshness of whitewashed pine combined with the warmth of reclaimed cedar found throughout the built in bunk nook and master bedroom. Our cabin is well-insulated and stays "air-conditioned cool" on even the hottest days of summer. Winters are delightful with the automatic "smart" propane stone fireplace which keeps the cabin warm while creating a cozy, comfortable setting to enjoy the winter, wildlife and mountain viewing through oversized windows and comfy recliners. Also, for some added fun check out the corner shelf by the dining table and it's chalkboard for keeping your vacation game scores recorded and alive throughout your stay:) Wood for the cabin's siding and porch were milled locally from the property's timber. Logs, hand peeled by the owner, highlight the 8X40 ft. wrap-around porch. But, truthfully, the perfect start or end to any day may possibly be found in the main bathroom with its' "reclaimed wood" tiled shower, two shower heads, tiled bench, heated bathroom floor, 100 year old reclaimed wood vanity and ....remember to personalize your chalkboard circle above your bath towel hook. Two twin beds can be found in the loft along with a table and 4 chairs. The loft is a wonderful spot to check your emails with our high speed internet, or perhaps have quiet time or play some board games. Cabin has new full sized washer and dryer, smart TV w/ Netflix, fully equipped new kitchen, appliances large and small, a round dining table w/ 2 additional leaves and 6 chairs. Outside you will find a fire pit with removable cooking grate for the cast iron pots , gas grill, large reclaimed wood dining table, round porch dining table and chairs, yard games (corn hole, ladder golf, horse shoes). This property also has a unique and fun refurbished 1884 one room Trapper Cabin with full sized bed, authentic wood stove, table, cabinet, rocker, battery lighting-no electric, fire pit, gas grill, hammock, two seater outhouse and outdoor shower and is for rent for an additional fee upon request and depending upon availability. Boat rentals, guided tours, hiking, fishing, golfing, restaurants, cross country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, National Parks, cultural events and so much more are just moments way or within an enjoyable driving distance.
We invite you to be our guest and hope you enjoy our special spot as much as we do!

About the host
Hosted by Lynn Taylor
I relocated to the Flathead Valley from Northern Virginia in 1983 as a single woman and have spent the last 40 plus years enjoying our valley's natural beauty, recreation, culture and people.
In 1985 I married a local Bigfork man. My husband Kirt and I raised 4 children here in the valley who kept us involved in local sports, 4-H and music worlds. Each of our children left the valley for college and career but have returned with great spouses and 8 beautiful grandchildren to enjoy!
As a VRBO host I love taking measures to help you quickly feel at home in our cabin so you can relax, and both enjoy and maximize your visit to our special area. If requested, I am happy to share my 40 plus years of local knowledge to help our guests get plugged into special experiences that I hope will become unique and cherished Montana memories.
A little about me: When first arriving to Bigfork 42 years ago I was in love with water sports and horses which actually drew me to this area. I dreamed of starting a windsurfing school on beautiful Flathead Lake until I realized how short the season would be! While that dream did not pan out I do hold the title of being the first windsurfer on Flathead Lake lol. That year I was tour guide and captain for a resort's Flathead Lake boat cruises, along with teaching swimming and windsurfing and renting boats. My first winter season brought me to Whitefish as Director of Special Events for Big Mountain Ski Resort. Over the years I have continued organizing and directing various special events for my church, family and friends as a side to my profession as a dental hygienist.
Our family has always enjoyed horse packing trips and hikes into our Montana wilderness areas and beautiful alpine lakes and picking those treasured huckleberries! When in question about the best hikes and fishing around I always ask my children especially my boys who have hiked and hunted every nook and cranny in the Swan and Mission mountain ranges.
