Was perfect for just husband and wife, one night stay to check out all the little shops, bars, restaurants (mostly in Havre de Grace) No kitchen really just fridge, microwave, keurig coffee (not a fan of that coffee) but was a really nice coffee shop within walking distance. A very cute, comfy place.
We stayed for a short getaway. The apartment is nice and check in was easy. The location is great - easy to walk to the places in Port Deposit and a short drive into Havre de Grace. We recommend!
The room was as advertised and very neat and comfortable. It is next to a train crossing, so expect some occasional noise from that, which we found charming.

If you love Victorian architecture, you’ll love this place. Very clean. Lovely town with restaurants to walk to. Our dog loved the new dog park very close to the inn. We also used the public boat ramp just down the street.

Quaint place! Loved the decor. Much bigger than I thought. We were warned about the train, but it was loud.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The only thing that we didn't like was not being able to figure out how to turn up the heat.
We liked the size of the bathroom! Loved the quaint decor! Very welcoming!
Nice for one night, some confusion in the amenities available
Beautiful property in walking distance to all the attractions of Port Deposit. Nice stay for one night. Unfortunately did not sleep well because bed is memory foam, which is not comfortable for me personally.
Was also a little disappointed regarding the hottub listed on VRBO. There is no actual hot tub, i believe this was referring to the bathtub inside.

Alle thank you for reviewing your stay! Ware sorry about the hot tub confusion, our suite has never had a hot tub and after double checking the listing it does not say we have a hot tub but a tub/shower combo. We have ordered a new platform bed!
This is such a charming suite in Port Deposit. Our host Gwendolyn and her husband were so kind! She checked in via the VRBO app to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. I was able to visit her Shop downstairs as well and got a few goodies to take along home. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of the decor and ammenities in the Suite was just so nice - we really felt welcomed. It's so hard to find a quality vacation rental when traveling with a dog, and I couldn't believe this gorgeous property was pet friendly!! I hope to come back again in warmer weather and maybe stay in the cottage on the property! If you have the chance to stay here, I 100% recommend it!

Thank you for taking the time to give us this wonderful review! We enjoyed having you as our guest and love our well behaved four legged friends. We would love the opportunity to host you again! Stay in touch. .
I loved staying at the property a Port Deposit is a small, charming town with great people and places to eat!
The property is over 120 years old (which is what drew me to it) and there are things you “know” come with that. The Queen suite was larger than I anticipated… I could hear the occasional traffic driving by and the nights I was there a few trains went by (close to the railroad tracks). However, all of that made me love the place even more! Gwendolyn was always responsive and made me feel welcome. I highly recommend!
The room (suite) that we had was perfect for the 2 of us. It was spacious and quaintly decorated, the suite was well equipped and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, we slept well and we enjoyed our morning coffee on the back porch, which was very relaxing.
The location is perfectly situated near the center of town. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. Unfortunately, our weather did not cooperate and we were unable to walk through town, but it is an adorable setting for a relaxing weekend for us.
Booking was easy and all of our communication with the owner was very pleasant- Gwendolyn was very attentive and quick to respond. One of the things that we appreciated was the packet of information that was provided regarding check in and check out, places to eat and on local attractions. We highly recommend this B&B for a relaxing, comfortable get away. You will not be disappointed!

Jeremy we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and we thank you for taking the time to give us a review. Please do come back anytime!! Safe Travels!
I had a very nice stay at Gwendolyn's property in Port Deposit, MD! The description was accurate, including the noise level, but there were earplugs in the bedroom drawer and I brought a few as well. After one night you don't even hear it as you'll sleep well in the very comfy bed. The hot water is really piping hot and makes for a great shower experience. Walking distance to restaurants is great, and all the restaurants are really good, but you should note that the only close breakfast place is closed on Monday and Tuesday. The queen suite is on the second floor, so good mobility is a must. There's good stairs though and a nice stair railing. If it's going to be chilly, ask for the space heaters in advance. I couldn't find them, but luckily there were extra blankets available. Also, if you're going to use the microwave, bring your own microwaveable paper plates. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and a great experience. I would definitely stay there again.

Thank you Rosa for taking the time to rate your stay with us, we are so sorry that you did not find the heaters, they should have been in the Bedroom Closet. Next time please reach out while you are there. (I will double check this. when I clean) Also I hope that the Electric fireplace helped. Good point about the plates, I will change them to paper. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we definitely would like to have you back!
About the host

Bryan and I (Gwendolyn) bought the Historic home in 2015, I absolutely fell in love with it and the quaint waterfront town. The "Cottage" at the time was being used as a storage space. However in the past it had been many things, most recently about 2011 it was known as a small little Bar called "The Bee's Nest" then it became a small convenience store. When we first bought the property we did a quick fix up of the cottage and our son and his wife moved in. After buying their first we needed to decide what to do with it. With so Many possibilities, we decided to open it to guest visiting our little town. Noticing the need for more rooms, and privacy during the pandemic, we then created the Queen Suite. Creating this with a balcony and french doors leading into a living room/kitchenette, hallway to a full bathroom and a Queen Bedroom. Adding a wall w/ a maids door inside the Manor to create your own private space. se a suite. We absolutely love out little town and wanted to share our love of it with travelers and guest. It is a great little weekend getaway location. Not wanting it to be referred to as the Bee's Nest all the time.(mine you we love a cocktail or two from time to time) We decided to rename property, Gwendolyn's Marigold Manor (Built 1902). We are so happy that we took the time to look at this property, it was meant to be, we came to town to downsize, buy a little condo on the river, we said, ha ha ha. We recently added "The Shoppe at the Manor" located on the front of the manor. We feature gifts & souvenirs and wearables boasting out town and our "RiverLife". Our gourmet pantry section, features Italian meats and a variety of cheeses, jams, olives and much more. Everything you will need to create the perfect charcuterie board. Yes, we even sell the boards. Stop in and enjoy your 20% discount as a guest.
Why they chose this property
Beautiful 1902 steamboat gothic home. We have 3 different units, The King's Quarter's, The Queen's Suite and The Cottage out back. take a look at all of them. They are all designed to be an AirBnB not a Bed and Breakfast so each unit is totally private to you. We are within walking distance to everything! Our Waterfront Premade is 500 ft. away! Restaurants, Parks, Museums, Coffee Shop and Gift Shops. We love our Historic home and love being able to share it with visitors and guest!
What makes this property unique
Gwendolyn loves her town and knows all the other businesses/restaurants. Let her help create a great trip. She can plan an adventurous weekend, romantic weekend or party fun weekend. We can arrange for dog walking, maid service, laundry services, etc. Come stay with us and enjoy the small riverfront town. We are sure you will not regret it.
