Sit back and relax. If you love the outdoors and sitting in a pine tree forest, you'll love this. It's a short walk on a beautiful trail through the forest to Sisters, buy a bakery fresh donut or a fine meal at many of the city’s fine restaurants. The common area at Tollgate has miles of paved biking trails, a swimming pool, a basketball court, and tennis court. Hiking, fishing, and boating are just a couple miles away at Suttle Lake and the Metolius River. The house is open and airy. You face the forest through windows over 20 feet across and two stories high. It's a beautiful way to sit inside comfortably and see the forest against a magnificent skyline. The whole house is yours’s. There is also a nice patio outside to comfortably sit and visit with friends, enjoy a nice drink and breath in fresh mountain air. The garage is however locked and not available. The best way to reach me is by email. It's a nice quiet neighborhood. There are miles of paved biking and walking trails next to the roads so it's always safe for kids and pets. Dogs must be on a leash while in the neighborhood. The hiking and bike trail into Sisters is just a couple hundred feet away. It's a nice walk in the forest. In the summer there is a nice swimming pool and there is a nice basketball court and tennis court available year-round. There are miles and miles of off-road biking trails through the woods right outside the neighborhood.

My husband and I stayed here with my in-laws. The house was perfect for us. We fell in love with the house and all of the attention to details that really set this property apart. It was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the BBQ and sitting outside on the back patio.
This was our second year in a row staying at this property and it was once again great. The location is fantastic with all the space behind the house and the proximity to Sisters. The owner is very responsive as well and we will keep coming back.
This was the second time we’ve stayed at this home. We had a fabulous time and will stay again. Thank you for being pet friendly as my red heeler loved it as did I!
My husband and I stayed here while visiting Sisters. It was a short bike ride into town on a nice bike path. The place is very quiet and private. It was clean and well-provisioned. We couldn’t ask for a nicer stay.
Our stay was wonderful. The house is so beautiful and we loved having access to the trails into town and through the woods. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend away.
My mom, myself and my dog Pepper throughly enjoyed the house. Loved the large windows and many sitting areas outside and the woods. Would definitely rent again and will recommend this to our friends.
We enjoyed our Sisters getaway very much! Lists of access to hiking trails and close to the adorable town of Sisters. Everything was as posted. John was very responsive. House is well set up!

About the host
Hosted by John J Temple
Lori and I have been happily married for 45 years. We're native Oregonians having grown up in Eugene. Go Ducks! Having said that we've lived out of state for almost 20 years and were happy to root for any team in Oregon even the Beavers. The last number of years we lived in Phoenix and although we loved the winters down there, I knew it was time to come home when I wanted to cry when I saw the old growth pine trees outside of Sisters or the McKenzie river where I grew up fishing. We love the outdoors. Our hearts are to give people who have worked there tails off like we have to find a place to rest and regroup by experiencing the great outdoors, either by hiking, riding a bike or simply have a cup of coffee and watching the sun come up. We invite you to come visit us and sit back and catch up on the little things that really matter.
Why they chose this property
I have traveled all over the Country and there is no place I would rather be than in Central Oregon. It's a giant play ground for the outdoor enthusiast and/or if you just want to sit back, rest and take in the sites. If you're a mountain biker, just around Bend there are over 300 miles of mountain bike trails. For fly fisherman there is the Deschutes River, Crooked River and the Metolius River, the Metolius River comes straight out of the ground in one giant spring, it is truly one of the most beautiful rivers in the world. There are also dozens of beautiful mountain lakes to canoe. There is snow skying in the winter and there is golf in the summer. Central Oregon is truly a beautiful place to vacation.
What makes this property unique
This backyard boards the Deschutes National Forest, it's a priceless way to sit back and relax in privacy and/or head outdoors from your own back door.
