A creek is located just below this property where you take in the true serenity Montana has to offer!
This ski-in/ski-out home is absolutely perfect for those who want to make first tracks while the rest of the group is still sipping coffee by the fireplace. Walk down the driveway, strap on your skis and make your way alongside the road to the Thunder Wolf Ski lift, as long as snow conditions permit! If the road is not snow-packed, you will just walk up the road a short distance to the Puma lift.
Ski-in and Ski-out Access: Ski-in and out to Big Sky Resort. Best for skiers | Possible for children and Snowboarders, but ski-in can be more difficult for these groups | Ski-out - Travel down the road to the Thunderwolf Lift | Ski in- Intermediate and Expert take Silverknife to Bear Back Poma. Ski past the bottom of the Poma on the ski trail to Low Dog Road. From here ski the road back to the house | We recommend beginners ski to the Summit Hotel and walk out the front of the hotel and ski the road the whole way back down to Low Dog Road. Silverknife may be too steep for beginners. Note: During periods of melting the road could be exposed and cause the property to lose ski access since the road is necessary for parts of the process. The Home is only ski accessible when the road is snow-covered.

We were very satisfied with this house. Clean, open, nice beds, just like we liked it. Our only concern was that there is insufficient table level lighting. There needs to be more lamps throughout.

We had a great time, and the property staff was wonderful! Don’t expect an updated property, but it was comfortable and very clean! It had everything you need and more. The kids were not able to ski in/out but the drive to the village took 3 minutes and it wasn’t a big deal. Thank you for a great week!

Family Fun Vacation
Our rental was great. Different floor levels accommodated our families perfectly. Supplies were abundant, management was easy to deal with, great location to view nature and wildlife. Nearby lake to enjoy paddle boards and swimming. Hiking trails are close by. Local restaurants (Alberto's and brewery) were very good; awesome staff! Rented a pontoon boat on Hebgen Lake - awesome! This is a great location for skiers too! If opportunities arises, we will definitely come back.

Foxy and fun!
We had the BEST time in this incredible home! The house was so unique. Clean. Very European feel. The sauna and hot tub were so great after full days of skiing. The furniture and beds were comfortable and cozy. Such a hygge house!! We also had the treat of a fox walking on the porch. That round window made the entire experience feel most magical, like we were living in the trees. Loved it!!

Place could use updating but did serve our purpose
Large rooms with plenty of space. We enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked and everything work well and the furnishings were functional but could use updating. It' not exactly ski in ski out. You have to ski or walk on the road to access the mountain. The 2 lowest level bedrooms (each have 2 single beds) share one bath and the 2 lower level bedroom have their own bath.

I am glad to hear that there was plenty of space and that you all enjoyed the hot tub. Again, this is a "retro" mountain house. It was built in the 70's, hence the "retro." In addition, it is ski in/ski out if you have the skill ability to ski in/ski out. It is not recommended for beginner skiers. Continue to think of us in the future to book your upcoming adventure in Big Sky Country.

OK stay
The property is dated; cabinet door/drawers not working well, exhaust fan kitchen is poorly working, really soft beds, broken window by hot tub ( which was taped by property manager after we called), some lights not working. The listing for the house as ski in-ski out is not very accurate; you have to ski down the road to reach a ski lift, not doable for beginners/kids.We did have a good time though, snow conditions were excellent!

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear you had a good time and that the snow conditions were excellent!
We strive to address any issues as quickly as they’re reported, and we appreciate you bringing the window to our attention during your stay. We'll take a closer look at the cabinets, lighting, and kitchen fan to ensure everything is functioning as it should.
We aim to provide quality beds, though we understand that comfort is a personal preference — what works well for some may not for others.
Regarding the ski-in/ski-out access, we recognize this can vary depending on skier ability and conditions. While the route works well for many guests, it may not be ideal for beginners or young children. We’ll take a look how to better clarify this in the listing moving forward.
Thank you for being our guest! Best, Auburn F. Guest Service Manager

Great house!
Fun unique ski house! Our family of 4 had more than enough room to relax after skiing. Could easily accommodate another family. We liked the multilevel design. Really liked having crisp white linens! So many rentals have the owner’s 1980’s cast-offs. This was a nice touch! Why not 5 stars? Because this is NOT “ski in ski out” in the way a visitor would define that. This is not a convenient place to pop in for lunch. “Ski in ski out” should not be in the advertisement as it is misleading.

Thank you for choosing one of BPM's properties for your home base while visiting Big Sky, Montana! We are glad to hear that you are enjoyed the home. We are happy to hear that this home was large enough to accommodate your entire party! This is a fun, unique home! To our future guests, this home IS ski in/ski out, weather depending. 'Ski In & Out' is perfect for those who want to make first tracks while the rest of the group is still sipping coffee by the fireplace. Walk down the driveway, strap on your skis and make your way along side the road to the Thunder Wolf Ski lift, as long as snow conditions permit! If the road is not snow packed, you will just walk up the road a short distance to the Puma lift. These particular guests came and visited in April when the snowfall is somewhat lacking. Still plenty of snow at Big Sky Resort, but not as much on the road. Moreover, if there's hardly any snow, you will just need to walk down the Puma Lift. Super quick and easy! Update as of 1/8/20- The home is a true ski in ski out though it can pose as a challenge for those who have never skied. For beginners we do recommend you walk the 10-minutes to the main base to access the beginners ski area.

Great time at Big Sky!
The good:
- Ski in / Ski out is great. Getting to the lift may be a little challenging for beginners, there's a pretty steep slope on the way. Getting back is a little tricky, take Silver Knife and stay right!
- Fireplace, hottub and sauna make for a warm welcome after a day on the slopes
- Great room and dining table had plenty of room for 6 adults
- Bedrooms on multiple levels made it feel more spread out.
The not great, but not that bad:
- The master bathroom really needs updates. Showerhead was busted and it had a useless bathtub that you could park a VW in.
- The driveway is pretty steep and the house is on a hill which makes getting in and out a bit of a challenge if there's snow on the ground. BRING A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE!

Thank you for choosing a Beehive property as your home base! The feedback is appreciated.
For future guests: The ski in/out can be difficult for those with little to no experience, if that is the case we recommend you walk up the road about 1/4 mile to the Puma lift.
The master showerhead has been repaired; the tub is rather large, great for bubble baths!
We do highly recommend a 4WD vehicle in the Winter months, the home is located on a hill, when its very snowy or icy, a vehicle other than a 4WD could pose a challenge.
Spacious and hip location for 6 guys that've been skiing together for over a decade. Be sure to read the SKI ON / OFF details as without a snow covered road this is a challenge but doable for the advanced; from our perspective this is reflected in the price to comparable properties near this location. Cool artwork throughout. The clean, well equipped kitchen and first floor level offered plenty of room to chill and catch-up after days on the mountain. There are numerous little dens and areas where one can sneak away to check back at home or office. Bedroom rooms were ample, furniture is showing wear. Communication with the host was excellent and they were able to address a few maintanence items. Hot tub size is really for 1-3 grown men (max). Be sure to bring your own bluetooth speaker. The grill on the deck was functional, could use a refresh. Overall a perfect location for a group of guys to hang out and have a great time.

Great property in a great location
We loved this location! We had a group of 7 friends and it fit everyone and then some.
Having a hot tub, sauna, and large kitchen/living area in the home was definitely a luxury. Views from the balcony were fantastic!
Ski in/out was as advertised. Getting to the Thunder Wolf lift was an easy ski down the road. Coming home at the end of the day could be done off Ramcharger/Silver Knife run, and then a short ski along the road. A 2 minute drive or longer walk (maybe 1/2 a mile?) to the main mountain village where there's dinner, rentals, etc.
If you're driving in the winter, you'll definitely want AWD/4X4. Our front wheel drive minivan with poor rental car tires had some trouble with the snowy hill the house is on, and needed a push from the group. AWD rental had zero problems.
The management company was great to deal with. They went above and beyond to answer some questions we had and were very easy to reach. We won't hesitate to book again!

this place was ski in/ski out because there was enough snow cover which was so convenient! our beginner friends had to walk a bit though. be careful not to put anything close to the radiator in the mud room - it melted 2 of our ski poles and the company would not reimburse us. the management company was very communicative. though we did get a message asking if we wanted to check in a day early. we didn’t - but asked for an earlier check in the day of and were denied. they also charged me accidentally for an extra day - but they refunded it immediately when i pointed out the error - thank you. the management company also took the trash out while we were there - and also made sure our driveway and sidewalk and deck area were shoveled and plowed. thank you!good kitchen, great space, lovely views, great room for everyone. not much provided in terms of bathroom basics. but we had everything we needed in the kitchen. great towels for bathroom and hot tub! we would definitely stay here again. it was a great trip - thank you!

Thank you for the thoughtful review! I’m glad the home, views, and ski-in/ski-out access worked well for your group. Sorry about the ski poles and the check-in mix-up. I appreciate your understanding, and I’m happy we were able to fix the billing quickly. We’d love to have you back anytime! Best, Cleo D
The condo is spacious and convenient for skiing provided you have snow and don't mind climbing stairs. We cooked our breakfasts and dinners and the kitchen and outdoor grill served us well.
We had a great time because it snowed twice, putting snow on the road so that we could ski down to the Thunder Wolf lift in the morning and home from the Bear Back Poma at day's end. If the road is not snow-covered, the walk to either lift is pretty long, mostly uphill to the Poma.
Because it is built on a steep hill, the condo is 3 stories plus a loft. Living room, kitchen and dining are half a flight up from the entrance. The primary suite, queen bedroom, and bathroom are half a flight down from the entry way, and it's another flight down to the two twin bedrooms (small) that share a Jack-and Jill bathroom, the sauna, and washer-dryer. Not horrible, but we are all 70+ years old.
The hot tub (indoor) was good; the washer-dryer worked fine; we never used the sauna. All in all, we were quite happy but want to give a full picture of the place.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
We are sorry to say we would not recommend this property given the high nightly rental price. Major issues: the furniture needs updating; the beds are soft and need replacement (both couples had difficulty sharing the queen beds due to the poor springs/mattresses); the carpeting is stained in many areas and needs refreshment; a bathroom shower faucet didn't function properly; one of the bathroom sink faucets leaked requiring a plumber to come by. The windows in the lower floor were very dirty and appeared to not have been washed in months. The lighting in all the guestrooms was poor; there were no clothing hooks in bedrooms or towel racks in the lower bathrooms; the filter in the hot tub was missing, and required maintenance to come over while we were there to adjust water level as it was nearly overflowing. Overall, the house feels like it has not been maintained consistently by the owners, and does not the standard indicated on the listing. Finally, the house is barely ski-in ski-out. It requires skiing down a road for 1/4 mile to reach a lift (if there's enough snow) or walking 1/4 mile uphill towards the village to the puma lift. The posting says it a 1-min walk to the village; in reality it's about 10 min. with skis.
