This was the perfect house to stay with a bunch of friends. Close to Carolina Beach and reasonably close to Wilmington. I really like how they tried to get some extra beds in to the house but didn’t sacrifice the hang out space. I would stay here again.
Older ranch house with converted living room into a bedroom. Best refrigerator I've ever seen with a full computer screen and speakers on side by side door. Another house is on the property with a shared driveway.

Nice Stay
Recently updated flooring and spacious property. Hall bath should've been more carefully cleaned. Coffee pot, ice maker were unfunctional. Internet was restored, but down part of the time. Owner very responsive, but some items such as towel rack missing. Believe property manager should be more carefully checking over items.
The place was really clean for the most part. The decor is was really nice. Everything is up to date. The beds were really firm. I personally had a hard time sleeping because of it but I know some people like firm beds. There are limited kitchen items so bring your own. My family along with my brother's family stayed and the house is spacious enough we didn't feel on top of each other. I rented this house because it said private. I wanted the kids to be able to play outside. There is a small house that shares the driveway directly behind it. Which I guess didn't matter. It rained all weekend. Overall it was an excellent stay.

Disappointed
Disappointed with the house. No dressers in the bedrooms so we had to put our suitcases on the floor. Floors were filthy. Ten minutes of walking barefoot or in socks and our feet were black with dirt. Very few kitchen supplies. Only silverware, dinner plates, cereal bowls and a few old pots and pans. Not one mixing bowl or sheet pan. Went to a dollar store for containers to make pancake batter, salad, etc. Bathtub in the master bath was peeling due to a bad paint job so I had to pick up a bath mat as well. Mold in guest bathroom shower tracks. Mold on the ceiling of one bedroom. Air vents were filthy. Kitchen trash can was disgusting as well as broken. Side entrance needs a hand rail. Back entrance railing needs to be fixed. Will not be renting this house again.
The property has a great location for the beaches but its more dated than the pictures show. We cut our trip short.

Not the best, not the worst
We were excited to stay here given all the positive reviews, but overall left feeling underwhelmed. As far as the positives, the place had plenty of sleeping space and living space for our party of 9. The outdoor area was nice to enjoy the outside without the bugs. And there was strong Wifi with plenty of entertainment services to enjoy.
There were some shortcomings, though, that definitely impacted our stay. There was some basic cleaning that needed to be done: the hard surface floors were pretty dirty, one shower liner was filthy and needed to be replaced, and the windows were hard to see through due to dirt/cobwebs. There was a shortage of silverware/food prep/serving dishes that was a constant issue with a larger group. There were several hardware issues in the house: sliding door off the rails in a bedroom, door hanging off the hinge in the laundry, and no knobs on basically all the kitchen drawers. There also weren't any flat sheets on the bunk beds - just thin blankets on top of the fitted sheet. Finally I would call out that while it's not technically far from Carolina Beach, because it's across the bridge on 421, traffic can be a problem. We had multiple days where it took 20+ minutes to get to/from the beach.
Overall, it was a decent place to stay - we just expected more based on the photos and ratings. With a little TLC, it would probably earn another star.
It was a most cozy atmosphere would recommend anyone with a family. Love how close we were to the beach and shopping.

Great Location, Needs some attention
I want to start by saying that this house has a lot of potential. It is in a great central location, easy to find, and the yard and enclosed patio are great features. Check in was easy with keyless entry. However, there was no pre-check in message from the owner as we have gotten from others in the past. We had some issues upon arrival that we notified Tom of and he was very responsive. He offered to send the handyman who lives behind the house over to fix one of the issues and we declined as it wasn't detrimental I just wanted him to know about it.
Here are some of the bigger issues:
*Mold/Mildew in the house and the enclosed patio. It was very bad on the patio and we opened some windows out there as instructed but that did not help much. Not to mention, there were empty boxes and the patio was very dirty. You could not even sit on the furniture. We were unable to use that room.
Inside the house also has mold around the windows and a very strong musty smell. We could not open the windows in the house because they were filthy and in need of a good cleaning and/or repair. One window had a large amount of mold growing on it. Many screens were not in good shape.
*Out of Service Dishwasher - Tom said they were waiting on parts but I was never notified ahead of time and there was no Dish Drain to dry the dishes.
*The air filter looked like it had not been changed in years. There was dust all over the cover.
*Other issues - dusty ceiling fans, dirty baseboards, peeling paint on walls, doorways and in the master tub.
Hair was left in the drain of the master. We never even used that shower. No where to hang towels in the master.
No end table for one of the lamps in the living room it was just set on the floor.
Dirty bedding and a hair tie left on one of the beds (We just closed that room off and didn't use it).
When I alerted Tom that we had to cut our trip short because of the mold smell, sent him my pictures (I also have a video but it was too large to send), and asked for a refund for the cleaning fee and one night we were not going to stay. He obliged and gave me an extra $50 and said he was going to the property to check it all out and that the parts were in for the dishwasher and they were fixing that, too.
The house otherwise is very cute. The living room and dining area are large and great to gather the family. If the cleanliness and mold/mildew issues get addressed this would be a great place to stay!
Great size for 2 familys with teenagers. Incredibly compfortable beds, extreamly clean and perfect location between beach and Wilmington. Covered parking for 2 vehicles was a nice surprise. Hope to book again.
