Hey Julie - Thank you for the constructive feedback. We have replaced the coffee pot. The ice maker and the entire fridge have been replaced, so those two items are currently working well. Additionally, I offered to buy you ice and bring it to you. I know that's semi inconvenient, but I thought a good solution. Instead of towel "racks" we opted to install towel/robe hangers during our renovation. We have found those to be a little more functional than traditional. So not missing; just not to your liking (apparently). On the internet, we are working on moving it to a location that the tenants can not unplug it. I wish you had noted in your review that the reason that it was non-functional was that your crew had unplugged and moved the wifi node, then complained that it didn't work. I guess I should have anticipated that. No worry though. It should be completely out of sight soon. All the best! Tom

Let me start out by saying that my normal attitude is that “the customer is always right”. This client called and complained even before they were in the house. “Tom, the code doesn’t work”. I made sure she was doing it right and she was in with the code she already had. That set the stage. Two days and several calls/messages later, she was “locked out” again. I walked her through it and she was in. This little story isn’t particularly relevant to her complaints, but tells you her mindset. She didn’t read the email sent from VRBO (welcome email that she “didn’t get”) and had problems. I did refund her one night and the cleaning fee to avoid the one star review that she promised me, but it wasn’t because I felt like she deserved any money back. I’d like to address all her complaints: 1. Handyman lives behind the house. Not really. We have a contractor who lives in an adjacent property. They do share a driveway, but it’s a full house on a different parcel. He’s not “living behind the house”, but he is a very close by handyman. 2. Mold/Mildew. Absolutely not. We clean thoroughly and there is no mold in any of the windows or anywhere. The house is older, and it has storm windows that are hard to clean, but that’s on the outside. We are replacing all the windows over the winter with new vinyl replacement windows. 3. Patio smells. That’s a judgement call. There was a mild smell to the enclosed patio. We clean it with bleach regularly. It was admittedly a little dirty for this visit, but nothing like what was represented. The furniture was not dirty. Also, it’s an outdoor patio. 4. Empty boxes. She complained about these empty boxes as soon as she arrived. I offered to come get them and she said no. These were literally three medium sized empty boxes in a corner. She complained about them every time we talked. I don’t know where they came from. We think the last renter left them and our housekeeping missed them. They were not dirty or smelly, just boxes. 5. Dishwasher out of service. The tenants prior to this overloaded the dishwasher with soap, broke the pump and we had to order a part. It is true that there was not a dish drain and maybe we could have told them ahead of time. There was a note on the dishwasher, and I offered to send someone to clean the dishes for her at the end of the day. She refused. The dishwasher is now fixed. 6. Air filter. The air filter is changed every 30 days. It was about two weeks old on their visit. I have several other properties and they are all on the same schedule. You can’t run a rental property and not change the air filters. 7. Peeling paint. Yes there are two areas with paint that is rubbed off. These are not the result of any peeling paint, but the door rubbing. We have since resolved that issue. 8. General dirtiness. Again, absolutely not. She did send me a couple of pictures of some minor dirt as “proof”, but the house is generally clean. 9. Left because of the mold. Thankfully they did leave. In closing I would say this. This tenant was difficult even before she set foot in the house. She called me numerous times “just to let me know”. I offered several times to send someone to help her situation, but she really wanted to just complain. I do everything I can for my tenants. Even when they are unreasonable or exceptionally difficult. Sometimes it just doesn’t matter. I always offer whatever or solution refund the client wants. Literally. If they feel unhappy with anything, I simply ask them what would make it better and I make it happen. No questions asked. Typically, I don’t hear from most of my renters, as they usually have a great time and leave happy. Please take the time to read other reviews before you make your decision on this property. It is older but well-kept and cleaned with all new furniture.

Hey Rebecca - We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at our house. Since your stay we have renovated with the following items: 1. Painted all the lkitchen cabinets 2. Gutted and replaced the master bath (no more peeling tub). 3. Repainted where needed; including the ceiling where you noted mold - which was inactive. 4. Replaced the filters. 5. Fixed the back railing 6. Added some hanging robe hooks 7. Added closet shelves to be a replacement for dressers. 8. Restocked the kitchen. 9. Removed the shower tracks in the guest room and replaced them with a hanging curtain. For the record, I do dispute most of your review that depicts this house as a complete mess. I would agree that it needed some loving and upgrades, and we have done that in the 2022 offseason. All the best! Tom
