Awesome cabin & close to town

Great stay this past weekend. Cabin was clean, had enough sheets & towels available. TVs in every room. Sauna & hot tub worked great. Detailed instructions for all the electronics. Kids had a great time in the arcade room & theater room. Was close enough to town that it wasn’t a pain to go back & forth for dinner or what not. Door dashed lunch one day with a lot of options. Had a lot of coupons available on the kitchen counter when we arrived that was nice. Jets in all the tubs worked perfectly. Can’t wait to stay again. Host company checked in on us the night of our arrival and the day we checked out to make sure everything was going well.

Overall, this is a nice unit that needs a little work. While they are advertised as Luxury, I never felt they were luxurious. See below for reasons:Pros:- Great Views- Nice community pool (no private pool)- Get to see a lot of nature (Black and Brown bears!)- Hot tub was nice- Beds were comfortable- Parking right at unit- Fairly quiet and the layout doesn't make you feel like your on top of your neighbors.- Conveniently located for getting to Gatlinburg shopping and only 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge entertainment.Cons:- The VRBO listing states Pool and Community pool under amenities. There is only a community pool.- Refrigerator's ice maker did not work well. Leaked and created a block of ice and caused water to leak into the refrigerator itself.- Refrigerator is small for a unit that sleeps 8 people.- Had to deal with an ant infestation resulting in having to dispose of several food items. Took them over 24hrs to simply drop off a can of spray (it worked quickly though).- Two items in game room did not work: Air Hockey table & Golden Tee arcade cabinet.- Arrived to find all towels in the washing machine. We had to move to dryer and run several times to get dry- No cleaning supplies beyond a few "sample" size items they leave on table.-Limited kitchen supplies. What is available is very worn and beat up. No toaster and a very old coffee pot.- Shower downstairs was clogged.

Meh

The Good. The cabin was clean, well laid out, easy to find, great views, and comfortable beds. The location is right next to the main drag. The Bad: We made our reservation and received a message on VRBO to contact them directly because they have a minimum stay for our dates. This felt very scammy. When I did call, the lady I spoke to said never mind about the minimum stay because there was no availability before or after our dates. I mentioned that their listing said nothing about a minimum stay. We received no further communication from them via VRBO (which is where I am used to receiving all communication). We arrived, and I checked my VRBO, and there was no info on how to get in. Luckily, we arrived 30 minutes before the office closed and were able to pay the balance of our stay - which is why they hadn't sent us our check-in info. I have almost always paid my balance through VRBO. I received no contact from them to do this. When we got into the cabin - there was no cabin binder. We didn't know how to work the gaming system or the hot tub. We also didn't know what we needed to do before we checked out. Two tv remotes and all of the gaming system controllers were dead. They showed up 8 hours later with batteries for the remotes. Told me the gaming remotes need a mini droid type charger - but didn't provide it to us. VERY loud partying neighbors all weekend. Hot tub was weirdly shallow. They offered me a 20% discount for my next stay with them. I won't be using it.
