OBP Poolside Chic

This house is beautiful, perfectly located between the ferry, the beach, restaurants, market, and twenty minute walk to Ocean Beach. For almost 2k/night, (rental plus fees), it should be closer to ideal. Having the pool is the game changing decisive factor, but the little things as described above need to be addressed. Without the pool, I could find an older, comfortable home for half the price and adjust my expectations accordingly.

Absolutely incredible

We were blown away by this vacation home, the best we've ever stayed in on Fire island. The pool on the deck was an awesome amenity. We did come across a couple issues but any concerns were swiftly handled by Cassie and the team. Being in this hole was vacation enough!

Stunning House!

We loved how clean, well-equipped and well thought out this house was. When not on the beach, we spent a lot of time on the great deck by the pool. Very short walk to the beach, plenty of beach chairs and towels. Beautifully designed and the sunsets from the rooftop deck are not to be missed!

NO AIR CONDITIONING

The air conditioning was broken. Too hot and impossible to sleep. I reached out and they said they would get back to me but never did. It’s a shame because otherwise the house was perfect.

Location great Pool great 5 bedrooms good. Rooftop a treat. However, overall 3 stars Too many important things not as described and / or in need of fixing: 1. Gas grill grease in need of good cleaning. (used for one minute & vegetables on fire) 2. No homeowners Wifi connection. (Two adults had to work remotely & this was a problem) 3. No television connection (error message) 4. No Hot Water in Main Bathroom Shower. 5. Kitchen glass sliding doors open fine, But the One Large Screen door does not. 6. Bicycles were not locked up upon arrival, they were strewn in the wet sand under the house, all rusted & some chains broken. This was a problem, as we carried over child's bike and planned to ride with him. (One very upset 6 year old). 7. Kitchen is Very Under Stocked. Most pots/pans were unusable. And No Spices, Etc. OR they were in broken cabinet next to oven which does not open? (Cabinet door also maybe breaking on recyclable cabinet?) 8. Dishwasher top rack was filled with most of the flatware, not dried, not unloaded and some pieces rusted when found. 9. Also, some ceiling flood lights (kitchen/living room) need light bulbs replaced. (about 6 maybe).

Second time here

Awesome house in a great location. 2 minute walk to beach. 2 minute walk to town. Super high roof deck. Heated pool. Clean and modern. Vacasa is there for your every need. But you won’t need much

Amazing! Modern Contemporary, but still a Beach House.

Just spent 10 days here. Clean, modern, close to beach and town. Well stocked with bikes, towels, and beach chairs. Great private suite upstairs with beautiful barn doors giving us much privacy while our kids occupied the bedrooms. Sliders in kitchen open up wide to give an indoor/outdoor feel to the deck and pool. Heated pool that is. Spiral staircase leads to large roof deck. Great for sunset and cocktails. Or to lay out during the day. Vasaca is there for any needs. Just a phone call away and respond immediately to the slightest requests. Modern Air conditioners in each room so easy to control climate throughout. Worth every penny!!

Beautiful house & pool, great location, shotty construction

The house is fantastic - great amount of bedrooms, 2 big bathrooms, and a beautiful (heated) pool close to the beach - what more can you ask for? There's no shortage of fun in Fire Island. The main problem exists behind the walls. The outdoor shower, foot wash & outdoor washing machine didn't work - there's clearly a plumbing problem that was not addressed before our stay as we heard this was going on for weeks, which was a disappointment as the outdoor showers on fire island are the best. Additionally, we lost lights in the kitchen, living room and deck for the last 2 days. The team at vacasa tried to help by giving us a lamp as an electrician couldn't come out, but it was again very disappointing as the home has extremely limited space for hanging out so losing all light on the deck was really annoying as that was our main living space for the week. Lastly, things like proper trash cans with locks so the deer cant get to it is necessary as we had to pick up our digusting trash each morning after the deer had field days eating it - this was also told to the team at Vacasa to get new trash cans as it will be every renters problem while they stay there.
