Great place to stay super close to shaver. Stayed there for a ski weekend and only had to drive another 20min to China Peak. House was clean. Modern aesthetic and very spacious on the inside.
Our family had a great time renting this home for Christmas. There’s also small slop on the back of the property where the kids had a great time sledding. This is a great home to rent and we look forward to doing it again sometime.
We had a wonderful time at Forever Young Cabin. The only issue I had was forgetting my door code and I got an almost instant reply after contacting the host. The location is perfect, close to the town, coffee shop, restaurants and store. However, once you are at the cabin it seems as if you are miles away from everything. The beds were very comfortable, there was a lot of seating, great patio, all around great place. Edison camp, shaver lake and Dinky Creek are all minutes away. We are excited to return in the winter. Thank you to the host for providing a safe and beautiful place to stay!

Disappointing cabin
Cabin was disappointing. The cabin was not clean at all, trash was found under the beds, lots of outside debris on the floor, dust everywhere, the kitchen was dirty as well, and dog hair was found on the couches when claiming no pets allowed. The heater in the living room was not working properly, but worked okay in the rooms. Vacuum didn’t work properly as well.
House: 2/10. Everything was dirty, my family stayed up cleaning the night we got there until 3am. We had to strip all beds and wash all sheets because there was trash under the sheets. Stained pillows/beds, it was gross. Beds are uncomfortable, they seemed old and outdated. Broken bed, when I notified the host she was aware of it, but failed to communicate with me ahead of time. We needed that bed. Family had to sleep on sofa beds instead. Trash under the bed and in plain view on carpet areas. There was dust everywhere - the blinds, fans, end tables in the living room. Spiderwebs in multiple areas throughout the home. Kitchen utensils were filthy - there was still food/grease on them and thrown in the cabinets. Microwave was not clean. Outside area: Bbq grill and table were filthy. Plastic chairs were broken, literally missing legs off some of them. I messaged the host and let them know about the uncleanliness and included pictures. I didn’t receive an apology for the inconvenience and only received a $100 refund back.
Location: 7/10. Great, it’s about a 5min drive to Shaver Lake Marina. 30min drive to Huntington Lake. Walking distance to food/stores in the area.
Neighborhood: 7/10. Quiet area and peaceful. However, there were people cutting their grass early morning, late evening one of the days we stayed.
We had an enjoyable stay here . Location was perfect . House was the same as pictured. My family and I had a lot of fun making memories. I would highly recommend this place .
Property was nice and cozy. Will definitely book another stay.

About the host

I bought this cabin to be a family cabin. I want to be able to spend time in the beautiful mountains, where it’s cooler weather than where I live and spend time with my adult children, and my grandchildren.
Why they chose this property
I purchased this property because it has 2 bedrooms on the first level, as well as a full large bathroom, so I won’t have to walk upstairs (I’m in my middle 70’s). The houses in the East Village are spread out farther than the West Village. There is plenty of extra room at the back of the cabin to play games, and you can play in the snow without having to drive to a snow park.
