Lake Home - 6 bedrooms, 4 bath, sleeps 12 guests - also includes 24 foot pontoon boat

Sanctuary at Hay Lake is situated on just over a half acre of nature's bliss. The house has been meticulously re-designed and remodeled with the vacationing family or larger group in mind. It features 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and very comfortably accommodates 12 people. All of the beds feature memory foam mattresses with an additional memory foam topper so each guest can choose between a softer, or firmer mattress experience. On the upper level three of the bedrooms offer guests the flexibility to choose bed configurations of either two twin extra long (XL), or combined for a single king size bed. In the fourth upper level bedroom we offer two sets of bunk beds to sleep four people. For the comfort of our taller guests all of the twin beds are XL - even the two sets of bunk beds. On the main level we offer two bedrooms, each with queen size beds. For added flexibility and additional gathering space, one of the bedrooms features a memory foam queen size sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa was specially selected for its sleeping comfort, and features a 6" memory foam mattress and an additional 2" memory foam topper for a combined total of 8" of memory foam sleeping bliss. All four bathrooms include complete towel sets, and body wash/shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower. The master bathroom also features a whirlpool bathtub with lake view.

House amenities include a fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs, and dining for 14 people. All bedrooms, except the bunk room, offer Smart TV's with cable TV. The house is fully air conditioned, and Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the house. For guests who have difficulty with stairs the house is equipped with a motorized chair for easy lake access, and the house features two bedrooms on the main floor.  Also included with your stay is use of the 24 foot pontoon boat, and seating for 14 people Including captain. And of course, there are plenty of other water toys including tubes, floating dock, floating dock, a single person kayak, double person kayak, and a lake badminton court. Hay Lake offers 363 acres of fully recreational waters with truly amazing water clarity - you can see the lake bottom from the house! The lake is stocked by both the DNR and the Hand-Hay Lake Association, and features black crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, northern pike, rock bass, walleye, and many other fish species. Approximately half of the lake shore is completely natural and undeveloped - this is truly Sanctuary at Hay Lake! The lake has no known invasive species -- we thank you for doing your part to keep it that way.

The Sanctuary at Hay Lake was truly that, but also much more! We had such a great time getting away from hustle and bustle of life and spending time with the family in a quiet comfortable getaway where it seemed like we were actually on a private lake! The surroundings were beautiful, the lake was calming and the home was very comfortable. But there was also SO much for us to do including boating on the pontoon, and playing on the lake but also so many fun games and activities inside the house. The deck was fantastic and made lake watching very enjoyable, especially moments before the sunrise when the lake was calm as glass. Jay was a fantastic host and was very responsive. When we had questions or when issues came up he was readily available and gave us the help we needed. I absolutely recommend you give the Sanctuary a close look!

Our family consisted of 12 ages 2-84. Everyone’s needs were taken care of. Plenty of room inside and out for relaxation. The electric chair lift for the stairs to the lake made it possible for my father to join us on the pontoon. The amount of bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. Jay responded in a very timely matter and was very attentive to making sure everything was perfect for our stay.

This lake home was comfortable and well appointed as described. It was perfect for our family gathering ages 3 to 80! Comfortable beds, great fire pit with wood and cooking forks, large screen house and outdoor games. The beautiful clear lake, dock, water toys and pontoon were a delight. Jay communicated with us well and was very helpful! A true North woods getaway.

We have rented several VRBOs for a lake getaway over the years, and this place was our favorite. The lake is beautiful with clear water for swimming and fishing. The property is set up for relaxing fun for all ages. We especially enjoyed playing water volleyball and cruising in the boat. There were plenty of indoor games on rainy days and we enjoyed sitting in the screened shelter and listening to the rain. I could tell that great care was taken into the little details and amenities to make sure everyone has fun! We had no problems and the host checked in every day to double check that we were doing well. Thanks so much for an unforgettable vacation!

Enjoyed one week stay with 10 people ages 6-81. House was great with 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Plenty of outside space to spread out if you want to. Enjoyed the fire and screened in area. We loved the lake! Very clear waters and had a blast catching fish. Serene and quiet area perfect for a week of down time. Enjoyed the kayaks and canoes. The kids enjoyed catching the little fish close to shore with a net. My family enjoyed this vacation more than last years trip to Florida. Owner was responsive to questions. I didn’t love the induction stove, but it did not hinder any cooking. We ate most meals at the house with plenty of space to eat and play games. There are 40 steps down to the dock so my legs got a workout! Would definitely consider a return trip next year.

Relaxing family getaway

This was a beautiful place to stay. It was very clean and the house was very accommodating. The lake was very peaceful. There was plenty to do for all ages! My kids already want to go back to this house next year!

Perfect house for family gathering where enough spaces for get togethers or just want to be alone. Beautiful views of the lake. Kids really enjoyed the game room; wished we were there longer. Definitely recommend and will book again. Jay was great with communications and very accommodating.

Perfect for Lake Life

Great property for our extended family group of 10. We had everything we needed. The lake is beautiful, nicely explored via pontoon, kayaks, standup paddle board, etc. The glamping tent was a fun extra option for sleeping.

Lots of space, nice kitchen to work in, our oldest grandchild enjoyed glamping! We really enjoyed the access to free use of the pontoon and kayaks everyday!! Loved hearing the loon calls daily! Appreciated the prompt answers to our questions by Jay!

Wonderful Family Time

This property at Hay Lake is a gem! Sanctuary at Hay Lake is a peaceful oasis with lots of amenities both inside and outside. The property is on a quiet lake and we enjoyed kayaks, badminton, the pontoon boat and floats. Comfortable beds and a beautiful interior were also highlights for our group. Lots of room to spread out and gather together. We really enjoyed our time at The Sanctuary at Hay Lake.

Family Fun

This was a family gathering of three generations. The accommodations were plentiful, and a couple thoroughly enjoyed glamping. The grandchildren enjoyed the arcade, car racing, and laser tag. We all loved the pontoon for fishing and tubing. There was plenty to do or just relax in the gazebo. It was a quiet lake and out in the woods.

Sanctuary Stay

We have stayed at Jay’s properties three times and he continues to impress. His communication is flawless and his commitment to the guest experience is second to none. We really enjoyed Sanctuary at Hay Lake and all the amenities. The home is spacious and set up for families. The pontoon and water activities kept everyone happy, but should you need inside activities The Sanctuary has lots of space, games, movies and a gorgeous view! We look forward to our Sanctuary stays in the future!

Perfect setting for a stay at the lake.

I was impressed with the amenities included to keep all three generations of my family entertained for our weekend retreat. There were plenty of pan fish to catch from the dock and a pontoon and kayaks for exploring the lake. We played water games and lounged on floating toys near the shoreline.The numerous bedrooms gave plenty of privacy and the large dining area made for comfortable meal times together. Even a storm with a power outage did not dampen our spirits. A great time was had by all.

Great getaway

We enjoyed our family weekend at this home! Accommodations were just what we needed for the 4 different families and sleeping arrangements. It was great weather, the lake was beautiful, the pontoon was great, and we caught and released lots of fish! One thing we would have changed would be the lake front - there isn't much of one and we had two little kids who would have liked some sand and a small beach. All around we had and great, relaxing time! Thank you!

However, I did want to tell you that my other lake property at nearby Norway Lake does have a small sandy beach, and I have the necessary approvals to expand that beach with more sand starting the 2023 season. Great cabin for a group

We went as a group of 5 adult couples and this worked out perfect! Communication and check in was very clear and easy. The screened in porch and bonfire pits were really nice. The cabin had a beautiful view, and we really appreciated the pontoon being included! It’s a nice lake. A little weedy by the dock, so some of us who are babies wore our water shoes, but it really wasn’t too bad. Plenty of bedrooms/beds and bathrooms. Just a heads up, this isn’t really close to many restaurants or shops, but we had planned to spend all of our time at the cabin anyway and did enjoy some bloody Mary’s and appetizers at the Harriet Club. Overall great stay!

They thought of everything!!

My son and his family came from Montana. My daughter, her family and the two of us came from Wisconsin. We called this Camp MontaMinneWis. Truly, the owners have thought of everything! We loved the pontoon for fishing, tubing, and evening tours. The kids had a great time tubing! Campfire night was so much fun, too. One morning we went to the beautiful shops in Nisswa. Then, as if that isn’t enough, the owners have set up a Glamper…a tent in a sheltered deck complete with pretty lights, a comfy bed, AND air conditioning! My daughter and son in law slept out there and loved it. We highly recommend staying in this home.
