About this property

2+2 Beach house 2 blocks off the beach

Coastal Charm is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom beach house. Built by us, for us, that we share with you. There are a lot of our personal touches throughout the house, it’s not a purpose built rental. If you see it listed for the weekend you want, book it quick! Coastal Charm is a 1960’s bungalow reimagined. Vaulted ceilings throughout make it feel grand in a petite package. The master bedroom features a grand king sized bed, with an elegant claw foot tub and sink with a toilet room. A chandelier in the bath area provides a nice touch. The second bedroom features a queen size bed with 2 twin XL beds for the kids. There is another twin that can be lowered from the wall if needed for more sleeping arrangements. The hall bathroom has a stand up shower, toilet, sink and a hidden away washer and dryer, should you need it during your stay. The kitchen is open to the living room and dining area. There is a cooktop and a convection oven/microwave. The dining room table is setup for 4, but there is a leaf to expand it if needed. Living room features 2 couches for relaxing after a day at the beach. Outside, there is plenty of seating around the 180 degree deck, with deck chairs on the south side for tanning away from the sand, and sitting areas on the other 2 sides to enjoy the multiple views off the deck in every direction. You can see the gulf and jetty from the deck, and it’s always a thrill to watch the ships come in and out of the jetty. Downstairs is a large shaded area under the house with several seating areas so you can always find a breeze and some shade. There is a fire pit surrounded by adirondack chairs along with a large picnic table, and there is also seating towards the back yard. The yard is fully fenced, front and back, to keep the children or pets in. It is a great area to chill and relax anytime of the day. There is an outdoor shower, which is great for rinsing off all the sand and sweat from the beach, but in reality, it’s our favorite place to shower in the spring, summer, and fall.

Cute and Cozy

This bungalow was spacious with everything we needed. The outdoor spaces were amazing! The house was beautifully decorated and was a nice change from the typical beach-themed decor. The hosts were very attentive, helpful and accommodating. Short walk to the beach.

Great low key family time

We loved the little town! Not a lot to do but enjoy the scenery, and time with family. So nice being away from the constant of everyday life and just watching my kids play and have have together.

Definitely a “Coastal Charm”

We stayed for Easter weekend & absolutely loved the house! It’s so charming & extremely comfortable! We walked the short 2 blocks to the beach every morning! I would definitely recommend this beautiful beach get away!

It was great everything was nice and clean. The rental had been updated and it was just what we had hoped for. Owner was very accommodating as we had to change our dates. This is a great place to stay no doubt!

Wonderful Stay

Beautiful and up to date beach house that was nice and comfy. Very close to the beach and was not lacking in any way. Place was clean, except for coffee maker having old used coffee filter still in it. We would stay in it again and would recommend it.

Great place

The owners and the property were spectacular, The weather was not. Rained everyday we were there. Surfside is still cleaning up from Beryl and not a lot of restaurants were open, so we cooked. However, overall Surfside is a wonderful quaint Texas beach town. 3rd time in Surfside we will be back.

Home Away From Home

This house might seem small at first, but the renovations, decorations, and available amenities truly make it a home away from home. I visit the Freeport area often for work and my family comes with me. This is one of our new favorite houses. From the comfortable beds and bedding to the perfect size dishwasher, the well-manicured fenced in yard, and the available hammocks, the owners have truly thought of everything. We hope we are able to stay here again.

Hidden Gem

This was the cutest house with all the amenities you could need. Beach was right down the road. The outdoor shower was an added plus especially after beach and if you have pets. Fenced in property was also great for our pets! We throughly enjoyed our stay. Master bed was exceptionally comfortable which made for a great nights rest! We would 100% come back! Thank you David for sharing your hidden gem!

Coastal Charm

Nice place, total cool yard for your pets. Very nice bedding and nice bath towels. The covered front pouch is nice during the day. Nice downstairs grill, just need to check propane before renting ;( Would rent again we had a blast. Our fur babies enjoyed the fenced in yard needless to say the price of mind to keep up with them was nice too. Thanks Costal Charms

Labor Day Weekend Getaway

My experience staying here with my family was such a pleasure. We wanted to rent a beach house for Labor Day weekend but most beach houses were booked already. This charming rental popped up on the listing last minute and I am happy that I booked. The property is beautiful, I love the personal touches throughout the house. The house was very clean and accommodated my family just fine. It is conveniently located near the gas station and convenience store. There are plenty of food places nearby also. The beach is just a short walk away. Lastly the host was very quick to respond to our concerns and made every accommodation to make us feel comfortable. I would definitely rent this place again and recommend to others!

Charmed by Coastal Charm!

Our family of 6 absolutely loved staying at Coastal Charm for a long holiday weekend! There was plenty of room in the bunk room for our 3 young kids but more would fit as well, and we brought a pack n play for our youngest. The beds were the comfiest we’ve had at a rental and the kitchen had everything we needed for making some meals at home. It’s not only functional and comfortable but beautiful as well! They’ve put so much care and thoughtful touches into their home. The kids enjoyed the yard and porch very much and access to the pedestrian beach was so easy! We drove the few blocks when we had all our gear and walked when we were just going for a morning or evening walk. Check in, check out & communication were all a breeze too. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Nice property but wasnt as perfect as all the reviews made it out to be

Pro:easy check in, close to beach, nice yard Cons: dirty,found dead bug and had to wash all extra bedding, flattop outside was filthy. I had to pay for a propane exchange and their only response was “leave a receipt and I’ll reimburse you”. I didnt save the receipt so i guess i bought propane for the next few guests you’re welcome. Air conditioners stopped working and needed to get fixed. No oven in house, the tub is really slippery and the drain gets stuck. Tv is pretty small and outdated. No privacy in master bedroom, can see right through the door and no lock. Decent house but definitely not worth the money if were being Completely honest

Coastal Charm

Very nicely decorated. Accommodations were outstanding. I really liked the “take a penny, leave a penny” mindset. Very convenient if you’ve forgotten a condiment or a bottle of water! Secured property to keep your pups safe. Timely and clear communication from the property owners. I’m booking the Coastal Charm the next time I’m in Surfside.

Perfect Birthday Getaway

My husband and I wanted to treat our daughters (3 & 6) to a beach trip as an early birthday present! Our oldest daughter requested her dog come with us! So this house was absolutely perfect for all of us (including our 6 month old baby). There weren’t stairs within the house so the baby could crawl around comfortably. The girls loved the hammocks downstairs, the bunk room and brought bath bubbles for the beautiful tub in the master. My husband and I slept wonderfully in the master. We ended up driving to the beach, just because we were hauling SO many things including children with us. If you were going with older kids and not a lot of items, then the walk isn’t bad at all. Communication with the owners was amazing as well!

We have been coming to Surfside since we met. We always knew we wanted a place down here. We found this place needing a little TLC, and after we bought it, we realized it was a bit more TLC than at first glance. After over a year of working on the house in every free moment, we’ve created a lovely home in Surfside.
