Lake front cabin on the Eagle River chain. Pet friendly. Pontoon for rent.
Our cabin is located right smack in the middle of the true north woods experience. Vilas county is home to one of the largest collections of freshwater lakes in the world, with more than 1,300 beautiful lakes and 73 rivers and streams. The Eagle River chain is the largest freshwater chain of lakes in the world and boasts over 11,000 acres. It’s primarily known for its Muskies but also offers an exceptional fishery focusing on walleye and panfish. Fishing not your thing? No problem. The chain is fully recreational. Jet ski rentals and wake board boats are available to rent within a 1/2 mile of the cabin. Plenty of places to eat & catch a drink right off the water and even on the water (may come across a floating margarita bar). A few popular sand bars on the chain can become quite festive on holiday weekends.
The cabin itself is sprawled out giving everyone plenty of space and it’s not cramped like most of the cabins in the area. The entire property is 1 acre and its completely fenced in for dogs. Great WIFI signal for the area. Large game room is where most people like to congregate for some competitive ping pong, darts, bags, board games or some classic arcade games (over 400). Have bags, floatable’s, water trampoline, axe throwing, spike ball, lawn darts and 4 cross for outdoor entertainment. Two large fire pits in the back yard, one lakeside and one closer to the back patio. Picnic table and giant spool by lakeside fire pit. Two grills available for outdoor cooks. Neither is gas. I have a large Weber charcoal and a large green egg that I use primarily for smoking. It’s the best way to cook on vacation. Put some ribs on the grill, go out and enjoy your day on the water and come back home to a tasty dinner. Property has two kayaks that come with the rental. Fishing boat and pontoon boat also available for rent.
The town of eagle river itself has a population of 1,628 and has that small town charm with a vibrant downtown. Because of the many lakes in the area, the city is a popular vacation and retirement destination. The area contains many condominiums, seasonal vacation homes, and hunting cabins. Fishing, water sports, biking, hiking, antiquing, golfing, snowmobiling and ATV’ing are a just a few of the many activities the area offers.
The main house is about 30 yards from the water. The lakeside duplex is not operational atm but plans on remodeling it are in the works. There will be no work being done during your stay but we do plan on renting this out for multi family/large family weekly rentals during the summer, hopefully by summer 2025. The duplex would add an additional 950 sq ft of living quarters, with each side consisting of a full kitchen, bathroom, large bedroom and lakeside views from the living room through the large bay windows. You can’t get any closer to the water besides living in a house boat. Rates for summer ‘25 will be $2450.00 plus taxes for weekly rentals for the entire property. 24’ pontoon available for rent for $500.00 per week.

The kitchen had everything we needed. For a very cold wintry weekend it was warm and cozy. There was lots of room to spread out and entertain ourselves whether they’re watching TV in one room and playing games in another or everyone together.
The host was so easy to work with, very detailed with instructions and the cabin was neat and clean. We will definitely try to stay there again next year! Thank you so much!
Was very cozy and enough room to have our local family come visit us for dinner and a movie. And even though it was cold and snowy outside we had plenty to entertain us inside thank you!
Everything you could need and then some. Great fenced yard for the dog to investigate, amazing kitchen, comfy beds. Attended Cranberry Fest 2 blocks away so no dealing with the insane traffic from 9-3 on Saturday. Host easily contacted and responded promptly to questions. Unusually warm weather for October but worked great for kayaking and relaxing outside. Hope to return in the future. Thank you Eric
Amazing location and property! We were in town for the annual snowmobile races at the track and this location could not have been more perfect. The place was amazing and our proximity to everything we wanted to do was perfect. Thanks for everything Erik
My dog enjoyed the large back yard with fence while I grilled on the weber. Good dock for our boat. Game room is fun and roomy. Location is close to town.
Any issues we may have had were quickly fixed by the property manager, Eric. He was very accommodating every time I contacted him.Had a great time but it was too cold for us to utilize the pontoon boat. Would love to come back when it’s warmer. The campfire and the grill was a great added bonus. Would love to see what the other property looks like when they are done renovating. Can’t wait to come back again!
What an absolutely beautiful property. We had no idea how amazing this “cabin” is. Very comfortable beds, nicely updated spacious interior with everything you could possibly need.
Owner is great. Everything we needed was ready for us. Pictures do not do this property justice.
Can’t wait to stay here again!!
Eric was very easy to work with. Nice location right on the edge of town, made runs to town easy. The game room was fantastic with post and beam architecture, big table and ping pong.
We spent the vast majority of our time in the game room. Great place for hanging out!
A very cool place, lots of room. Dual fire pits. Lots of area for our dog! Only thing that we didn't care for was the next door neighbor has rooster chickens.... which don't stop crowing.
Spacious house, fantastic kitchen to cook meals in including lots of spices and other amenities we've not normally had available in a VRBO. Very comfortable house! We booked hoping to spend most of our time on the lakes but WI weather didn't cooperate with that. We did get to spend one day on the water and the dock for our boat was nice. Since we spent a lot of time indoors due to weather - we had a lot of family fun with all the games that were there including a ping pong table. We didn't hear one time that our teenagers were bored. The fenced in back yard was fantastic for our dogs! Host was excellent - easy to communicate with and very accommodating.

Thanks for the kind words Danielle. Hope to have you back again.
House is perfect getaway when you are done enjoying the great north! Beautifully appointed kitchen has everything a person could need, plus some i now cannot live without. Lol! Multiple spaces for lounging, games, Tv, ect... to enjoy one anothers company or spreading out. Backyard off the kitchen is large, fenced and has a courtyard like area that has picnic table and chairs, and options for outdoor cooking. Equal sunny and shady areas, grassy for bare feet. Quiet area near water with a nice view of chain without being completely on display. Host is super thorough and stocked ice, bottled water and goodies. He provides so much more than expected, and we've rented in the area for years. Toilet paper , paper towels, basic toiletries, nicely laundered bedding and towels... i could go on and on how easy he made our stay.Everything to let you rest after traveling. We will be back.
This home was great and very clean! Loved the huge fenced in yard, for our 2 dogs ( which there was no additional fee to for...which was very surprising and refreshing). There were 2 fire pits, one close to the house the other at the back of the yard to enjoy the river view ( wood was included). There are 3 big screen TVs, one in the game room, one in the livingroom and the other in the master bedroom. Well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans, spices, ect. Plenty of pillows, blankets and games in the game room. One of the days we were there, it rained all day and we were definately not bored in the house. The only thing, I'd advise, is to arrive in the daylight for check in because the GPS will take you across the street, behind a business. Since we were not familiar with the area and arrived after dark, my husband realized the river was across the street. So, we looked for the picture of the house on the app and then found in about 10 minutes of driving around.
The house in the process of being upgraded and what has been done looks fabulous. We will definately be back and since the house is so big and he's remodeling the lake house, too, will bring family with us next time and rent a pontoon, to enjoy the river view. Thank you, for a wonderful experience!

Okay at best
Not worth the money unless you invite more people. The furniture including the beds to sleep on are uncomfortable. There were dump trucks coming and going that the owner did not tell us about. He is hard to get a hold of. Then construction people woke us up the morning we left and were right outside the window. We will not go back.

Sorry for the late response to this. I tried responding off my phone back when this occurred and a prompt came up that said it couldn't go through. Seems like I can only respond to reviews on a laptop. First off, I would like to say thank you for staying with us for your trip to Eagle River. I do apologize for the commotion on your departure day. I was having a new septic put in. I was told that they would be doing it at the end of the month and was told Wednesday-Friday. The weather wasn't going cooperate with there initial plan so they made some changes on the fly without notifying me that they were going to start Monday morning. If I had known I would have filled you in. Putting myself in your shoes I would've been upset as well. Its something that shouldn't happen again as that was the only major construction project that needed to be done by someone else other than myself. I sincerely apologize for the lack of coordination on that. In regards to some of the other items you mentioned, I'm going to kindly disagree. I responded to everyone of your inquires within 24 hours and you never reached out to me during your trip for anything so I'm not sure why you're saying i was hard to get a hold of. I'm assuming you were sleeping in the kids room. The twin bed is a tempurpedic pillow top and is comfortable for smaller adults. The bunk bed is what it is. I've never slept in a comfortable bunk bed but TBH this is one of the more comfortable ones. Box spring and full pillow top mattress. You don't feel any bars or supports. The king bed in the master is a firmer tempurpedic mattress w/ a 3" memory foam added to it for people that prefer something more plush. That's a brand new mattress as well as the queen pillow top mattress in the game room. As a full grown adult I wouldn't necessarily like sleeping on either bed in the bunk room but my home is setup for more family types with kids than all adults. The beds in there are adequate for adults but mostly made for children. I wish you would've had a better stay and we will do better with future communication if we have any work being done to the property.
We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It isn't fancy but there is ample space, it was very clean, and the location was great. We found that we could snowmobile west for about 600 feet to Oak and catch the trail there. The river is on the back of the property and there guaranteed to be beautiful views in the summer.
