Close to town, the college and a beautiful serene surrounding
Outstanding privacy given its close proximity to downtown and UVA wise this beautiful ranch, 3 BR, 2 Bath house is all your large family needs for a wonderful stay in the lush Virginia countryside. Large living room for gatherings, piano, TV, internet for entertainment. A comfortable front deck and covered porch provide outdoor dinning opportunities or just time to view and relax among the deer, meditation pond and peaceful views of an endless meadow without close neighbors. As per popular request we have added a large BBQ, an outside firepit, basketball goal with balls and other outdoor activities including corn hole and a fantastic tree swing.
We have a three night minimum stay but would possibly consider two nights to previous renters or under special circumstances. Its a large property to be having folks only staying two nights. Please reach out if you would like to review.
We can support special events as long as the overnight guest count is not exceeded. Special events will require a bit more cleaning fee and a few basic rules to follow, please reach out to discuss.

We had a wonderful time in Wise. The house was exactly how it was described. There were a lot of little touches that made it feel like we were staying with family- extra blankets on the bed, trial size toiletries, and things in the kitchen you might have forgotten. It was a great stay!
Rental was "dated" but sufficiently met our needs . Nice, quiet, secluded property. Would rent again.

Disliked: Communication
The outside was not as clean and mowed as I expected , we complained about a blocked sink but no one responded .
The bed was comfortable and I loved the size of the living room with its decor .
We were at this home for a week, and the size of the property allowed us to spread out and have plenty of room for everyone.
The deer in the yard, the amazing star gazing, and the mountain bluebirds made this a mountain top retreat really special.
This was our second trip to the property, and we were so relieved it was available for our trip!
We were in the area to celebrate our 60th anniversary.
We had moved away from Coeburn years ago but wanted to celebrate with the many relatives in the area.

we are delighted these folks chose our place to celebrate their 60th anniversary.
Property was quiet, no noise from neighbors. A bit tricky to find but solid directions h to guide you to it. Communication was excellent. Denver was great to respond with any questions. House and amenities were definitely dated. 5 adults stayed here and everyone agreed it was time for new mattresses. Sleeping is a big deal when staying away from home so this is my main point for making it 4 stars. We all woke up with our backs bothering us in the morning.

sorry the beds were uncomfortable. That really is a bummer to us. you have no idea how often we hear, oh we loved the beds... or the flip side, oh the beds were uncomfortable. we just put new soft toppers on three of the four beds as they generally are appreciated by those that want a firm under bed but pillow top feel. We strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible and a soft top bed often has shown to be appreciated by people not sleeping in their own beds. Turns out the beds are not old, yes, some of the furniture is and we are replacing some of the couches. i wish i had a magic wand to somehow make the beds match the wide wishes of our guests... but that is not possible. What we have are good quality, well kept beds with 2 inch posterpedic covers on all the beds except the queen in the master bedroom because that bed already is a posterpedic. The beds have new waterproof washable covers and are covered with qood quality sheets. There is an assortment of pillows as well depending on your preference for thick or thin, soft of firm.
The house was great. Dated, as other reviews say, but absolutely spotless. Everything was just as listed and very comfortable.
The back yard area was wonderful. So nice to come in from work and relax out back while watching deer and bunnies play! Would definitely recommend and would stay again if in the area.
The host was responsive and always made sure all was good!

We are fighting to keep this property in the family - it has been for over 125 years part of a local family farm. It was once an apple orchard and many old trees still line the area. We do not want to sell the property after our folks passed so in order to keep it in the family as well as visit local friends and family when we can we turned it into a short term rental. We are not trying to get rich here or take business away from local hotels or others, we are offering something completely different and unique and original. Once you see the location you will understand. please help us pay the bills, taxes and insurance for this property so we can keep it in the family by booking a long weekend in the Virginia mountains
Why they chose this property
This house is our family house we grew up in, we cherish the location and area and want to keep the property so a short term rental might allow us to do that
What makes this property unique
No traffic, no pollution, no noise, gigantic yard, tons of parking, great for events, secluded private space, wildlife including many deer, rabbits, even bob cat with too many local birds to count. At one time we counted over a dozen Cardinals in one tree.
