Nice apartment, problems with neighbors and landlord

The apartment was nice. It had everything my two sons and I needed. There are elderly neighbors who were problematic and complained a lot about "excessive noise" when we weren't even being loud at all. The cable tv was awful with one kid's channel and everything else was news. The DVD player needs to be replaced because it barely played any movies at all. There was nothing in the town to do, and everything was far away. Not all of this is the landlord's fault at all. For our personal needs, I wouldn't stay there again.

As we received Brian and his children on arrival in the most friendly manner and as usual, started to explain how things work: devices, rules (including house / community rules, the garbage separation rule) etc.... to which he reacted with frequent interruptions and stopped us to proceed with the comment: "I know, I know, I've lived in this country before...". One day he has been seen putting all the garbage, without separation, in the large paper bins ! To our very friendly remarks that garbage needs separation, he reacted again unfriendly. Now on his points: - He has traveled with two sons age 7 and 8 and we can imagine, it could be sometimes a bit loud which should be tolerable during the day time. Yet the neighbor still claims, they were very loud during the resting times (after 22:00 hours). We've had no way to believe him or the other side and brought this politely to his attention. - There is a perfectly functioning and brand new Sat. TV and DVD in my apartment with 100s TV programs in different languages and themes . We´ve made two sets of "favorite" lists with different languages. He could have found kids programs either in the saved list, or in general TV programs. Or he could have listened to us explainingg this to him, or could have asked us. - Glashütten - a well known clear air/water resort with natural beauties, is perfectly located : very central and close to many large cities reachable within 30 minutes like Frankfurt 30 km, Wiesbaden 25 km,Königstein 7 km , Kronberg and Oberursel 12 km, Bad Homburg 20km,Idstein 15 km. You could find in Glashüten within walking distance: Two grocery shops (REWE & ALDI ) Pharmacy, Laundry, Bakery, Cafe, 3 Restaurants and bar, playground, sport field, many trekking and bike paths and in summertime a swimming pool in Schloßborn 3km. All in all, it's very unfortunate to have observed such behaviors from this guest which has been for the first time for us since more than two years we're receiving guests in our apartment.

Schöner Tage in Glashütten
