About this property
Family friendly beach house, 5 min walk to Croatan Beach and bike to boardwalk
Our beach house is located in a peaceful neighborhood that is just a short walk to the beach and still close enough to the boardwalk to bike or even for a long walk there. We have a well-equipped kitchen, two laundries, and an outdoor shower. We have decks on the back of the house with hammocks, swings, and lounge chairs, and we even a small work area with a desk in the main bedroom on the second floor for those times you need to check in. This is a great place to bring your family, especially children. The Virginia Aquarium and their adventure park are just a 15 minute walk away (you can also drive, especially if it rains), and we provide bikes and some beach toys as well.

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please leave all the sheets and towels for each bedroom/bathroom combo on the floor of that room
Trash day is Tuesday, so if you happen to be there on that day, please roll the bin out to the street. Recycling is every other Tuesday, you can tell by the other bins on the street.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

About the host

We are Cathy and Chris, and we live in Alexandria, VA. We bought a house in Virginia Beach because Chris grew to love the area when he was in the Marines. We brought our son here as he was growing up and we have a lot of great memories of this area together. We bought the house some years ago in a kind of neglected state and we are using the rental income to upgrade it one winter project at a time. You will notice that all the bathrooms except for the main bedroom have been upgraded, the deck has been upgraded, and we've painted and done other things as well. We make up for the wear you can still see in places with amenities. But that aside, our hope is for other families to have great beach house memories together like our family does. It really is a special category of family vacation.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is on the beach, and it's biking distance to the boardwalk and some key local attractions like the Virginia Aquarium and adventure park, and the Ocean Breeze water park/go kart track.
What makes this property unique
We are an easy five minute walk to the beach, which works even with small children. We keep a rolling inventory of beach toys and we provide bicycles for those times driving isn't as good an option.
