The home has 8 comfortable bedrooms, 15 beds and 4 baths. Easily sleeps 28 but can sleep more if you have small children. There are plenty of sofas to lounge on and sleep in as well. We offer a 5% discount on a full week's stay and a 10% discount for the whole month!
Enjoy family time in an open kitchen with a large pantry stocked with the necessities such as coffee, coffee makers (two 12 cup drip), and Keurig pods, cookware, large serving pans, silverware, wine/regular glasses, blender, basic seasonings, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. This should be enough to get your stay started off comfortably, and possibly for the entire trip. The home has two washers and three dryers which is great for large families. High speed internet, three large TVs, ESPN and other streaming outlets.
We want to be considerate of all of our guests so we do ask if you bring pets that they don't sleep on the beds please.
The home has beautiful tile and hardwood. The balcony, upper-level porch (unscreened) and carefully designed places within the home are a delight to sit back in a comfy chair, sip your drink of choice and enjoy the lake. The upper balcony has two picnic tables as well as chairs with gas grill (gas provided). There is a foosball table upstairs as well for the kids. The lower-level porch (unscreened) has a hammock swing with chairs and tables to sit back and listen to the birds chirp. Cornhole bean bag toss boards and horseshoes are also available.
If you like smoking meat, a giant smoker is on the property. Feel free to bring your favorite flavor of smoking wood and have fun! It’s perfect for vacations or football weekends to watch your favorite teams by the water.
One canoe and one “John Boat” (similar to a canoe) are included for you to paddle around on the beautiful water. Dock is attached for you to swim around and sunbathe. We also include a giant floating mat you can attach to the dock, as well as inner tubes to float on. Beach towels are included for your stay.
Pontoon boats for cruising or tubing, as well as bass fishing boats are available for rent. Tubes are also available for rent. The boat rental owners are super nice and helpful. The boat can be picked up at the marina or they'll deliver to the house for a small fee.
You are welcome to bring your own boat or pontoon and tie up to our dock. You’ll have access to the private community boat ramp.
We are retired restaurant owners so the house has pictures of some of our menu items which we took out of our old business. They brighten up the home and will probably make you hungry! 😊
We leave our Christmas tree up all year long because hey, every day is like Christmas morning at the lake (also great for weekends around the holidays!).
The main floor of the house has a large open room with high ceilings. The kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances is fully equipped for your stay. Everything you need to whip up a great meal is there. Large gas grill is just outside on the porch.
A breakfast room that’s perfect for breakfast or playing cards and boardgame while you look out over the lake. Across from the kitchen is a full bathroom.
The dining room seats 10+. A sofa and flatscreen TV are also in this large area.
Around the corner you will find the spacious master bedroom with a king bed and private bathroom with a shower and bathtub. Large flat screen TV in the master as well. The guest bedroom on the main floor is a full-sized bed and very cozy.
A large laundry room with two washers and three dryers is downstairs.
The downstairs den has a large flatscreen and big, comfy couches. You’ll also find a second kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher and sink here as well.
Around the corner are two guest bedrooms and a full bath… one guestroom has two full-sized beds and the other has two queen beds.
Go upstairs to the third level and you’ll find four more bedrooms and a full bath. The first room has a full-sized bed. The second has two queen beds, the third is a giant room with three king-sized mattresses and one full-sized mattress, a large flatscreen TV and a sink. You can access the fourth bedroom through the giant room. The fourth smaller bedroom has two twin beds inside.
An extra twin mattress is available if needed.
Our cove is residential and has several year-round residents. We ask our guests to respect the peace and quiet our residents enjoy. Loud outdoor parties are not appropriate.
The nearest marina is about 30 minutes away on the water… just past the 48 bridge. They have gas pumps open seven days during the summer months. 6 days in the fall and winter.
Restaurants in town as well, however admittedly scarce. Nearby from two grocery stores in the town of Wedowee (~15 minutes), Roanoke (~30 minutes) and Anniston (~60 minutes).
About Lake Wedowee—
Lake Wedowee, technically “RL Harris Reservoir” was created in the 80’s by Alabama Power. It’s 10,000 acres (1/4 the size of Lake Lanier north of Atlanta or Lake Martin near Montgomery) and was formed from a deep river channel of the Tallapoosa River. The water is very deep, and very clear. At our south end of the lake, hundred foot depths are the norm.
Alabama Power lowers the water level about 8’ staring in early October until late April. It does affect the appearance of the shoreline somewhat. Our dock does remains floating. The lake in the winter is special. Incredibly quiet and peaceful.
We welcome you to our slice of paradise!

Thank you so much for the great review and for choosing us to host your gathering! Glad you enjoyed everything. We do hope you’ll certainly come back again in the future.
The host was very nice and welcoming. The house was very nice. Two of the bedrooms had cobwebs on the ceiling (the basement rooms). The VRBO/AIR B&B that we’ve stayed at in the past had shower soap and shampoo but there was none so had to find stores to purchase that. It was a pleasant stay.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for staying with us. We are really glad to hear you found the home nice and had a pleasant stay overall.
We appreciate you letting us know about the cobwebs in the basement bedrooms. We apologize for that oversight and will make sure it is addressed so future guests have an even better experience.
Regarding the shower soap and shampoo, we did have several bottles available at the time you messaged and asked, and I am sorry if they were not easy to find. If you had reached out again, I would have been more than happy to help right away. We will make this clearer for future guests so there is no confusion.
Thank you again for your feedback. It truly helps us improve, and we would love the opportunity to host you again in the future!
This home on Lake Wedowee is absolutely amazing, as well as the host. It is on the lake, which is a plus, clean and spacious with all if the amenities you need. I highly recommend this home for your stay on Lake Wedowee.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m really glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate how respectful and easy you were to host. I’d be happy to welcome you back anytime… hope to see you again on your next visit!
Great communication from the host. Very good instruction. It was February, so we didn’t get to use all the amenities like the kayaks and fishing, but it looks like a beautiful place to enjoy both. It was very nice in that there was meal seating for 20 and plenty of plates and silverware for meals. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with appliances and cookware. The house was immaculate. The common area is on the first floor with four large sofas. There is also a kitchenette down there. Overall, we had two refrigerators, which was plenty for our group of 16. There were closets of towels. The porches are lovely and overlook the lake. We did use the fire ring one evening and it was very peaceful to sit out there and enjoy each other’s company. It is very private and very quiet. There is also plenty of parking. We had a wonderful time. Very relaxing. The owner asked very little in terms of leaving. Just to start the washing machine and dishwasher and remove the trash. Very reasonable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review. We are truly grateful that you and your group enjoyed the space, amenities, and peaceful setting, even during the winter season. It means a lot to hear that the home worked well for your gathering and helped create a relaxing and memorable stay. We would love to welcome you back again so you can enjoy the lake and outdoor activities in warmer weather! Thank you again for choosing our home. We appreciate you!
We had a great weekend stay! The place was clean and comfortably slept 17 people. The owner was extremely responsive. The kitchen was well stocked and it was helpful to have an additional fridge in the basement. There was a large table that seated everybody. The drive there didn’t have many street lights, but all the roads were paved and there is plenty of parking space at the house. The lake was nice and we enjoyed the canoes and kayaks provided as well as life jackets and beach towels. 12 people could easily sit around the fire pit and there was plenty of firewood. The area was very peaceful and the leaves were really pretty in the fall!

We loved our time at this house and on Lake Wedowee. It was perfect for our large family. We enjoyed the easy access to the community boat ramp, the steps leading to the dock from the home were not too steep. The house was roomy for our family of 20. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
