The Lodge at Joe Walker Hollow, privacy at its best with plenty of family space

Joe Walker was the first white settler in the valley area now known as "Walkers Creek" the lodge is located in the hollow where Joe Walker built his home, although the exact location of his home is unknown. The Lodge at Joe Walker Hollow is a very private and secluded get away, miles of pristine wooded trails to walk. The peace and quiet is second to none, includes a stocked bass pond for catch and release fishing, an "under the stars" hot tub; gas fireplace, a large upstairs family room with 72 inch TV, wifi, a large covered porch with a gas grill. Thirty mintutes from VMI and W&L colleges. If you enjoy the outdoors, nature, hiking and privacy you will not be dissappointed.

Joe Walker Hollow is a relaxing lodge with numerous features that appeal to everyone. After spending 5 days here, it has become a must-stay when in the area. Our group of 8 was attending finals at the Virginia Horse Center. While the 30-minute drive felt long at first, it was easy to commute and the lodge offered a well-needed relaxing environment after a day of horse riding.

We had a wonderful stay at this Lodge. It looked exactly like the photos and description with no surprises at all. Everything is well maintained and clearly cared for, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Couldn’t be happier with our stay. The place was exactly as described and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We didn’t have a ton of time there since we were competing at the Virginia horse center but the time we did have was super relaxing. My son and I even had time for a little fishing. Labor Day Trip

This was our second time staying at this beautiful property and plan on retruning again in the future. We really enjoy the privacy of this property, the scenic views from the porch, and the fishing pond. At night, the stars are incredible to view when relaxing in the hot tub.

Family gathering

We were in town for my daughter‘s college graduation. I had family coming in from Pennsylvania and Iowa and this property was perfect for our gathering! We went fishing in the pond, roasted hot dogs over the fire, and sat in the hot tub. The lodge was very large and there was more than enough room to socialize and celebrate. The lodge is beautiful and the grounds were peaceful. I highly recommend the lodge!

Absolutely beautiful place! We were looking for a large cabin/lodge style home to stay in with other family members and this place was perfect. Privacy, beauty, conversation pieces, etc. So much to do! The home lies between Staunton & Lexington/Natural Bridge, but there are no shops within a 20-minute drive, so bring lots of provisions. We only stayed for 3 nights but wished we would have booked a longer stay, as we spent several days visiting attractions such as The Safari Park Zoo, Natural Bridge & the huge Factory Antique Mall in Verona on the one rainy day. Hope to visit again next year for a longer stay!

Modernized log cabin nestled in the serene countryside perched on a hill with breathtaking views.. really enjoyed sitting on the porch doing absolutely nothing. plenty of outdoor activities for all ages. Wedding weekend getaway

My friends and I came out to the area for a wedding and had a great stay at the lodge. The hosts were extremely responsive and the place was perfect for a big group of friends. We appreciated the very simple checkout process and absence of complicated instructions. The location was very remote so it’s difficult to get to things quickly but perfect for a quiet weekend in the mountains.
