About the host
Hosted by Sean Fitz-Patrick
Hi, I’m Sean, the owner’s son, and I manage our family’s vacation rentals.
This home is much more than a rental property to us—it’s a place we genuinely love and use ourselves throughout the year. In fact, we spend more time enjoying the house with our family than we do renting it, which is why we take great pride in keeping it comfortable, well-maintained, and welcoming for our guests.
I grew up spending summers on Lake Wallenpaupack, and many of my favorite childhood memories were made right here—boating on the lake, gathering with family and friends, and enjoying everything the Pocono Mountains have to offer. Those experiences helped make this house a very special place for our family.
When we’re not using the home, we’re happy to share it with other families who appreciate the beauty, relaxation, and adventure that Lake Wallenpaupack and the Poconos provide. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, quality family time, or outdoor recreation, we hope you’ll feel right at home here.
Our family has made countless memories in this house over the years, and we sincerely hope your family creates some wonderful memories here as well.
Why they chose this property
Our family chose this location decades ago, and we’ve never found another spot on Lake Wallenpaupack quite like it.
The home was originally built by my family in the 1970s and has been thoughtfully expanded and improved over the years. What started as a lake cottage has evolved into a spacious, comfortable retreat that still maintains the cozy character and charm that made us fall in love with it in the first place.
Perched on a mountainside, the property offers beautiful views of both Lake Wallenpaupack and the neighboring Lacawac Sanctuary. One of the things we value most about this location is that the sanctuary is permanently protected from development. Because no homes will ever be built there, the natural scenery remains untouched, and light pollution is kept to a minimum—creating incredible opportunities for stargazing on clear nights.
The view from this part of the lake feels especially pristine and unspoiled. Looking across the water toward the sanctuary, you’ll experience a sense of peace and natural beauty that is becoming increasingly rare. It’s a setting that has kept our family coming back generation after generation, and we hope you’ll enjoy it just as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property truly unique is that it has been a cherished family home for generations, not simply a vacation rental.
Originally built by our family in the 1970s, the home has been thoughtfully expanded and updated over the years while preserving the warmth, character, and charm that made us fall in love with it. The result is a home that feels both spacious and inviting—a place designed for gathering with family and friends while still offering plenty of room to relax and unwind.
The location is equally special. Situated on a mountainside overlooking Lake Wallenpaupack and the protected Lacawac Sanctuary, the property offers a rare combination of lake views, privacy, and natural beauty. Because the sanctuary will never be developed, the views remain pristine and largely untouched, creating a peaceful setting that feels much more secluded than many other areas of the lake. The limited light pollution also makes for spectacular stargazing, something our family has enjoyed for decades.
For those who love being on the water, the property features a private dock that was completely rebuilt in 2021. The dock includes one boat slip capable of accommodating a boat up to 20 feet in length, as well as two dry-dock jet ski slips, making it easy to enjoy everything Lake Wallenpaupack has to offer. Whether you’re boating, fishing, swimming, tubing, or simply relaxing by the water, having direct private lake access is a tremendous advantage.
Perhaps most importantly, this home is filled with decades of family memories. We grew up spending summers here, and many of our favorite moments were spent on the lake, around the house, and enjoying the surrounding Pocono Mountains. We continue to use and love the property ourselves, which is why we take such pride in maintaining it. Our hope is that guests experience the same sense of connection, relaxation, and adventure that has made this property so special to our family for generations.
