THE UNIT:
"Big Wave Dave" is one of the highest end rental condo's in Daytona Beach. Professionally designed Miami Modern appeal it will leave you speechless from the moment you arrive.
Lets take a POV tour through the home.
You walk through the double door entry, straight ahead is the beautiful Miami Modern living room but immediately on your left is the 3rd bedroom that is a beach themed bunk bed room for the kids.
As you walk further into the condo on your left is the beautiful completely renovated gourmet chefs kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and numerous amenities that should bed more then enough for all of your cooking needs.
Through the kitchen you will find the full size laundry room.
As you work out of the kitchen into the dining area and living room you will see the white Miami modern aesthetic throughout. The dining table seats six with additional bar top seating for four. The living room has a gorgeous white leather couch with modern white/chrome accent chairs overlooking a wall mounted smart tv as well as the beautiful view of the ocean that can be access through the living room balcony entrance/exit.
To your right is the master bedroom featuring a king bed, wall mounted smart tv, walk in closets, and your own private oceanfront balcony entrance/exit. Through the master bedroom is the master bathroom which feature his/her sinks, a garden tub, and a large walk in shower.
On the opposite side of the living room is the guest bedroom #2, which features a king bed, private bathroom with a walk in shower, wall mounted smart tv, and a private oceanfront balcony entrance/exit.
The oceanfront balcony is HUGE. Complete with a cabana big enough for three and an outdoor dining table that can seat six. It does not stop there, on the balcony is a Weber electric grill for that grill master that wants to watch the ocean waves roll in while they grill up a meal for their friends and family.
OCEAN VISTAS COMPLEX:
Ocean Vistas Condominium is widely considered to be Daytona Beach's "Crown Jewel" of vacation rentals. Nothing else comes close in comparison. Ocean Vistas features a 75ft heated pool, a hot tub/spa, an oceanfront fitness center complete with a sauna, a community room with billiards for a rainy day, a sun deck, and a business conference center for those who need to work while on vacation.
*****OTHER THINGS TO NOTE*****
Minimum age: 25 - (this means the primary renter needs to be over 25)
1. Being transparent as possible -- Instead of charging a high security deposit or having you pay a non-refundable fee to VRBO for their coverage (which is not enough coverage) we have sought out a higher limit 3rd party coverage for incidentals. Our cost is $145 and is marked as an admin fee. This covers you for the vast majority of incidental damage to the unit that could happen. This solves two things. 1. We do not have to collect a huge security deposit from you. 2. More importantly it solves the damage claim process which VRBO had traditionally made hosts "aim" their damage claim at the guest first seeking payment before they would step in and pay. We wanted to ensure every guest was covered for both minor an major "oops" without having to deal with the hassle and coverage limitations set forth by VRBO.
CHECK IN: 4pm-8pm
EARLY CHECK IN: Is not available. (if the unit is ready early, our check in agent will let you know)
LATE CHECK IN FEE: This fee is charged for "after hours" arrivals. We just pass the charge on to the guest. ** 8:01pm-11:59pm: $50 ** 12am+: $100
PARKING: ~ ONE garage spot with 7ft clearance guaranteed. ~ ONE garage access pass to the first come first serve spots in the lower garage (6'7ft) for a second vehicle (If the complex is full parking for a second vehicle may not be available) ~ If your vehicle does not fit in the garage you will have to find other parking accommodations. ~ NO THIRD VEHICLES. ~ NO TRAILERS. ~ NO OUTDOOR PARKING ON SITE.
PETS: No Pets.
KEYS OR KEY FOBS: If lost or damaged are $75 to replace.
We provided a starter kit of household items; A few trash bags, laundry pods, dish detergent pods, toilet paper rolls, and one roll of paper towels. Once ours is gone it is the guest’s responsibility to purchase the things they need.
CHECKOUT: is at 10:00 am
HOUSE RULES:
1. Smoking is NOT allowed at all inside the condominium or on the balconies. Caught doing either will result in a $500 fine. (Smoking can be done out front of the building)
2. You MUST follow the checkout instructions in the binder given to you prior to checking out of your unit.
3. Do not hang anything over the balcony railings.
4. Wash the sand off of you and your beach belongings prior to coming up to the unit.
5. Be kind, courteous, and respectful of all staff, owners, and other rental guests staying.
6. Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.
7. The amenities such as the pool and fitness center cannot be used after 10pm. Breaking this rule can result in the condo association overruling me and asking a guest to leave.
8. Please do not do drugs or bring drugs into the unit. (This will result in an automatic termination of your stay).
9. Please do not take the towels or pillows with you. (Yes people do this)
10. If you break something please notify us right away you have damage insurance that protects us both.
11. One week before check in you will receive an email with all of your check in information as well as a couple documents to fill out.
12. You will be given a 15-20 minute tour upon arrival. This is so you know your way around the building and do not get lost.
13. You cannot have additional guests in the building or using the amenities that are not on your registration document. (This will get you removed from the building)
14. Parking is two spots. One reserved spot in the garage and one unreserved spot in the garage. (unreserved spots are limited) No outdoor parking available.
15. Checkout is 10am.
16. You will need to fill out a parking registration form as well as a standard short term lease agreement with us after booking prior to check in that will be sent via email.

We loved our stay at Big Wave Dave. It was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 3 children. The balcony was the best! We would definitely stay here again if we decided to come back to the area.
Big Wave Dave was exactly as described. It was bright, clean, and very conveniently located on the beach! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need as was the unit. We liked the covered garage space which was perfect for taking the top/doors off the Bronco for cruising on the beach. Our grandson Baker loved it as well! We had family join us for Birthday celebrations and just had a great relaxing beach vacation. We will most certainly be going back next Summer. Highly recommend and we loved the entire place especially the balcony.

Everything was excellent the view from the balcony was beautiful and pics doesn’t do the whole place justice.. everything was beautiful just the way the pics look , we truly enjoyed our stay and it will definitely be a repeat when we come back to Daytona Beach.. we loved everything about it
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was just as described. The view was great, the condo was comfortable. Joey was communicative and gave great recommendations for restaurants.
We had the absolute best vacation. The balcony and morning sunrise views were one of the best features! Very clean and spacious. We hope to book again! Lucas was excellent to work with!

This condo was exactly as described. And one of the best complexes we saw while in Daytona. We picked this unit for its location and design. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and allowed our whole family of 6 to comfortably stay steps away from the beach. Parking and the neighbors were wonderful and the building amenities (pool, game room, gym) were a great bonus. Would definitely stay here next time vising Daytona Beach.
Nicely decorated and well appointed. They have everything you need in the kitchen! Chairs and beach towels are also there. We’ve stayed at this complex many times and are never disappointed. The property manager was always available if we had any questions. Looking forward to our next visit!
This was the second time we have stayed at "Big Wave Dave's". It never disappoints! Even though we have to leave early due to the hurricane, we were still able to have a couple good days here. Wish we could've stayed longer, but we'll be back! Lucas was gracious enough to reimburse part of our stay, even while dealing with securing his other properties. Thanks Lucas! You're the best!
We enjoyed the fact that we had plenty of open space in this condo so that we could still practice social distancing while being all in the same eyesight. We also decided to stay in the condo for eating this year and had great cooking appliances and outdoor grill.
If you are looking for a beach themed condo, Big Wave Dave fills the bill! Wonderful view in an updated, very clean property managed extremely well by Lucas Lamoureux.
We were able to cook meals in or on the grill and enjoy them on the terrace with cocktails.
The sunrises were magnificent and worth setting an alarm to see each morning.
There is nothing missing in the kitchen to allow entertaining a dozen folks if you wanted to!
We really enjoyed Ocean Vistas amenities and will be back soon!
This condo will exceed your expectations in every way! If you are trying to decide look no more! The sunrises on the huge balcony are soul soothing and the ocean views from every room allow you to escape to paradise. The decor was stunning and we found something new every time we entered the condo. The cleanliness and security were top notch. Lucas was great to work with. I am envious of anyone who get to be here!! Big Wave Dave is unforgettable.
The condo unit and development were beautiful. The game room served us well for adult children to continue their games after we went to bed. The unit was well supplied with spices and extras that we usually have to purchase. My only complaint was not enough beach equipment. We flew in so we were unable to bring chairs and umbrellas. With the size of our group 9, we were not setup for the beach. Other than that if you are driving and can bring that stuff, you should have a great time here.
We loved staying at Big Wave Dave and would love to visit again. The condo was beautiful and had an amazing view from the balcony. The only hiccup was that the place wasn’t fully clean. The floor in the children’s bedroom hadn’t been swept and the beds were messy like they’d been used. The mirrors weren’t clean, there was an old k-cup in the Keurig machine from previous vacationers. There was hair on the outdoor lounge bed. And all of the soap dispensers had mostly water in them to conserve the last amount of soap. We definitely want to come back despite the place needing a better cleaning.

Hi Anna,
We thank you for your business however we were not alerted to the cleanliness of the unit not being up to par during your stay. Had we been told of this we would of sent the cleaner back to handle these things that were a concern to you.
From an operational standpoint all sheets were washed, floors swept & mopped. In the kids room the bunk beds are a little difficult to make so I could understand if the beds themselves had comforters that were not crisp flat like the two king beds as it’s more difficult for the cleaners to move the heavy bunk beds in order to tuck everything in but rest assured everything was clean. I will work with them on presentation of the bunk beds.
Unfortunately prior to your stay we also had a hurricane. So the outdoor furniture had to come inside and then go back outside.
The balcony is on the 3rd floor so it was a bit windy due to the hurricane and all sorts of things blow into the balconies but what usually happens is if someone from a higher another floor sweeps things off their balcony it falls to the balconies below. Our cleaners sweep the balconies and vacuum them as well as remove cushions but again if another unit above has swept things off that stuff typically ends up on the balconies of other units below and there is not much we can do about that until the next time we are cleaning.
Apologies for the unit not being up to par. Please make sure to reach out to us during your stay next time so we can correct those things for you if they exist.

We loved our stay at Big Wave Dave's! We have stayed at Ocean Vistas before, but this is one of the nicest and most luxuriously decorated condos that we have ever stayed in at Daytona Beach. Access to the pool deck and the ocean was nice and easy, even with the recent damage from the hurricane. The balconies at this property are one of our favorite perks and we were able to witness not one, but TWO rocket launches the week of our stay!!
Lucas was a great host. He met us at the property upon our arrival, and kept us informed of all updates to the amenities that were inoperable due to storm damage.
If you are trying to decide between this and any other room, save yourself the trouble and book this one now! You won't be disappointed!!
We stayed in this unit a few years back & it was still an awesome place to take our family! We love Ocean Vistas condos. Just a little sad the walkway from the pool area to the beach hasn’t been repaired since the hurricane 2 years ago. There is still a walk way but it is much less convenient. However, this is not anything that this one condo owner can be responsible for, it is a building issue. And it may be something else that has held up it’s repair, like government regulation, etc. Thanks for a great & beautiful place to bring our kids & grands!!!

Debra, thank you so much for staying with us again! Yes the beach ramp ballooned in cost from $60k to $180k after the hurricanes on top of building insurance seeing a massive increase and as such homeowners HOA fees doubling. The owners and board thought it best to wait on the beach ramp until prices cooled down since we have the cities beach ramp right outside the south garage entrance. There was a few other hiccups in the world of regulation, turtle season, materials, etc but the good news is at the last board meeting the new ramp was approved and work should begin soon to replace it!

Pictures do not do this place justice. It was much bigger than anticipated, with plenty of room for everyone in our family. Beautiful decor in every room, and the kids loved the coziness of the kids room. They have thought of everything. We really appreciated the beach supplies kept in the garage and the convenient parking. Great having an assigned parking spot rather than having to search for one when you get back late. Location is much quieter than Daytona which was exactly what we were looking for. However, Daytona is a very short drive, or even walk up the beach if you’re looking for more activity. There is a great mini putt a short walk away from the condo and we were even lucky enough to see a SpaceX launch while sitting around the fire pit one night. Awe inspiring! Checkin was easy and we really appreciated the personal tour to get us accustomed to the building. One of the most secure condos we have ever stayed at. Hopefully, we’ll be back one day!
The room was nice, and the view of the beach was great. I loved having a reserved parking spot and a designated area for beach gear, which helped keep the sand out of the room. However, there were two major downsides. First, the dishwasher was broken, so we had to hand wash the dishes all week. It seemed to have been out of service for a while because all the dishes in the cabinets were dirty, except for one cabinet that, no joke, had about 30 salt and pepper shakers! While it was nice that there were plenty of supplies, it also created some challenges. The pantry needed to be organized just to accommodate our food for the week. Some of the closets were stuffed with extra pillows and blankets, leaving little room for our clothes. On the positive side, it was great that beach chairs and pool and beach towels were included, which could have saved us a lot of space in the car had we known in advance. We also encountered an issue with ants and had to stop by a hardware store to buy some pest control supplies. They're were all over the kitchen and the amazing cicle lounge chair on the porch but it could not be used for 1/2 the trip due to ants. If not for the clutter, ants, and dishwasher I would have rated it a 4star

Matthew, thank you for the feedback. For future guests reading this — a few clarifications:
The dishwasher issue wasn’t reported until his stay. Once we were notified, we had a technician out the same day and it was quickly repaired. Our cleaners hand-wash dishes, but with a 2,000-piece kitchen they rely on guests to leave dirty dishes out or run the dishwasher before departure so everything can be reviewed properly.
The “30 salt and pepper shakers” is inaccurate — there were 8. Vacation rentals often have a spice cabinet, maintained and cleared of old items, which most guests find convenient. The pantry is stocked with useful items like foil, a cooler, and a first-aid kit. This has always been considered a benefit, though we’ll review the setup to ensure food storage space is maximized. Closets are stocked with extra linens and pillows for guest comfort, which may make them feel full but is intended for convenience.
Ants were never reported during the stay. Every condo has regular pest service with Dave’s Pest Control, and we could have arranged immediate treatment had we been contacted. The property has since been retreated.
Beach chairs and towels are included under our “beach essentials” amenity. Had Matthew asked before arrival, we would have gladly confirmed what was available.
We encourage all guests to communicate before their stay begins or during their stay so any issues can be addressed immediately. We’re easy to reach and quick to respond.
