We were greeted with a lovely welcome basket. The view is as amazing as in the pictures. Enjoyed the quiet location but still close enough to all the action. We saw whales from the balcony while eating breakfast two mornings. We caught the green flash during a sunset one day too. The pools are small so we don’t really use them (my husband had through about lap swimming but that wasn’t an option). The appliances, floors, counters and fixtures had all been recently updated but the cabinets are dated. The loft bedroom is open to the main room, so isn’t very private and gets noise. The beds were comfortable. It worked well for us and two young adult kids.

Perfect in every way ....

We totally enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if we find ourselves on the Big Island. The condo and grounds were clean, well appointed and in a great location. Communication with host was top notch. Thank you for a great vacation .... we'll miss our morning coffee on the lanai watching the whale spouts and boat traffic.

Great property

Everything about this condo was wonderful. The master bedroom was so comfortable and spacious. The view was gorgeous and the property grounds were well kept. The condo was clean and well stocked. We will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in the Kona area.

Great location - Beautiful sunsets !

This location was amazing - our host went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and satisfaction- we have stayed at several vacation rentals and this was top notch. We saw whales and dolphins from the balcony. Thank you for a great stay- we loved all the amenities of the condo association. Several pools, Pickleball, tennis, outdoor bbq by the pools. A clean quiet and beautiful location !

Great Stay + Explore

This property was perfect for family members who wanted to enjoy the ocean view and lounge by the pool(s) and equally as wonderful for the ones who wanted to explore the island. The condo had plenty of room for privacy and to congregate, cook and enjoy the view. Additionally, we were so close to amenities (groceries + shave ice) and to snorkeling beaches. Particularly loved the walking path along the rocky shore in front of the complex. A repeat stay in the future!

Wedding trip

We stayed for 4 days. The unit was clean, spacious and well appointed. The pools and grounds were equally clean and well kept. Our only issue was that the washing machine was not working but it didn't deter from our stay.

Exceptional Stay - Get it if you can!

Everything was exceptional! This property was one of the best I’ve ever stayed at and truly felt privileged to enjoy. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s even nicer in person. Get it if you can We spent a lot of time exploring but wish we would have had more time to stay in and enjoy this property. Dinner on the lanai provided a better view than any restaurant we ate at. Also from the lanai, the sounds of the ocean is mesmerizing and I recorded a voice memo to take home and enjoy to sleep, relax, and remember everything that was special about this beautiful part of the world!

Great location & comfortable place

We loved our stay! The condo is very comfortable. Beds are great - even the sofa bed is comfortable. It was also nice to have a full sectional and spacious living room that was a separate area to where the sofa bed couch is. It is only a 2 min walk from the beach, and we loved the location. The house has beach chairs and boogie boards for use. Sunny and spacious. We also loved being able to use the pool/gym/tennis/pickleball/restaurant across the street at the athletic club. Great location for seeing everything in Kauai. Please note - we didn't realize that there was no washer/dryer. For a holiday with lots of sand, this was a challenge. The listing says there is a laundromat nearby, but we didn't find one less than a 20 min drive away - not very close in my opinion.

Loved our stay!

We stayed here for 6 nights. There were 5 ladies in our party and this condo worked out wonderful. I enjoyed every morning sitting on lanai, drinking my coffee and watching/listening to the waves. What a beautiful view! It was perfect. The condo is very well equipped with all the necessities you need in the kitchen. She even has a few beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, beach towels and a decent size cooler. No complaints about everything. The bed and pillows were comfy as well. I would definitely recommend a stay here and given the opportunity I would come back.

Great location, lots of space

We loved our stay at Kanaloa at Kona #1904. Morning coffee on the lanai overlooking the waves was idyllic. Being able to play tennis and then cool off in an oceanfront pool was great fun. The condo is spacious and comfortable. We especially appreciated the spa-like master bath and the well-stocked kitchen. We bought groceries at the KTA nearby and enjoyed lots of home-cooked meals. The washer and dryer were key. Opportunities for kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming at a sandy beach are all close by. Highly recommend!

Fantastic condo, fantastic view

Condo 1904 exceeded our expectations and matched the other reviews we read. This condo has a great view. We enjoyed the view from the wonderful patio, enjoying the crashing waves during the day and watching the lights of the manta ray snorkeling boats at night. The condo was furnished with everything we could want. The beds and furniture were very nice and comfortable. The condo was large enough for our party to spread out so it would be great for a large family or group of friends. Overall we had a great experience with this condo.

Spacious and beautiful

The condo was so spacious the 6 of us had plenty of room to spread out and the 3 bathrooms were perfect! The view from the lanai was beautiful, couldn’t have asked for a better way to start your morning! The internet and tv didn’t work and we tried a few times to have the local contact come look at it but she never made it. Just a minor inconvenience for night time downtime for the kids. Would stay again.

I’m in love!

I fell in love with this home and property. I honestly didn’t want to leave. We stay in many places throughout the world and this rental by far was one of our favorites. The teens loved their respective spaces and the pools. We parents enjoyed the deck. The location was perfect for exploring the Island. I cook every meal and couldn’t have been happier with the kitchen amenities and all the extras. We slept better than we have in years and were sad to leave. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Wonderful place to stay!

This condo exceeded our expectations from the minute we walked in! It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The view is absolutely stunning, it doesn’t get any better. We had plenty of space for our group of 5 to spread out and relax. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the bedrooms and beds were comfortable and perfect for relaxing after long days at the beach or shopping. The property is well maintained and we had a choice of 3 different pools to choose from, all were just a short walk from the unit. The only downfall was the bugs (roaches), but some that is to be expected on the islands. The location was quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and traffic of downtown Kona but close enough to easily access everything. We can’t wait to come back and visit again! We weren’t lucky enough to see any dolphins, but maybe next time!

Our Big Island Getaway

This was our first visit to the Big Island. We spent four nights at Kanaloa at Kona Condo 1904. Upon arrival the first thing we encountered were a lot of steps to get to the living area of the Condo. It was a bit of a pain getting all our luggage up the stairs. So, I would just want people to be aware of that issue. They do show a picture of the entryway online so you can see for yourself. That being said, we loved the condo. And the view from the lanai makes the steps worth it. Right on the oceanfront and the sound of the waves was marvelous. When not out exploring the island and beaches, we spent a good amount of time sitting on the lanai enjoying that view. The condo worked very well for our family of five including grandma, parents and two teenage boys. Plenty of room, everything we needed for our stay in terms of kitchen items, dinnerware, towels, including beach towels, beach chairs. Bathrooms were updated and beds very comfortable. There are three pools, including one with a view of the ocean. There was grill close by the unit which we did use for one meal. The community was nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend Kanaloa at Kona Condo 1904 for your stay on the Big Island. And would love to go back there someday!

We love Kanaloa, because it is beautiful & quiet, but just a short drive to everything. From our lanai we watched the canoe clubs paddle by in the a.m. & the sunsets in the evening. We swam in the oceanside pool before/after the beach.The condo layout was ideal for us - 2 couples & 1 single. One couple visiting from Europe (12-hour time difference) especially appreciated the expansive primary suite with the dedicated WFH space, the loft had plenty of room & enough privacy for the second couple to spread out, & the smaller bedroom with a walk-in closet & adjacent bathroom was more than adequate for the single. All the beds were comfortable, & the bed linens & plentiful towels were of good quality.The high tech refrigerator automatically provided 2 sizes of ice cubes, filtered water, & was conveniently stocked with a variety of condiments.  Kitchen provisions included dishwasher detergent, soap, trash bags, wraps, dishes for 12, plenty of glassware, dishtowels, placemats, serving dishes, & more. We were happy to find what we needed for the beach - towels,  umbrella, mat, cooler - but there were also boogie boards & chairs.We used the "smart" clothes washer/dryer almost every day, & watched the giant TV when we found a DVD on Hawaiian skies, a consolation for the the canceled Mauna Kea Summit Tour.In addition to a Basket of Hawaiian goodies, you'll find a well-organized binder of House Rules. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mhari & Gary's, and heartily recommend it.

Fabulous Condo!

We just got back from a week staying at Kanaloa at Kona, and it was fantastic. The location is great in that it's away from the crowds of Kailua but close to a grocery store, drugstore, restaurants, etc. The condo itself is wonderful. The balcony is right on the water so the sound of waves crashing is ever present. There are 2 large bedrooms on the first floor and a loft bedroom up a flight of stairs. Beds are comfortable, pillows good and towels thick. The kitchen has everything you need to cook whatever you like, and there are some basic condiments/spices available as well. We don't have one negative thing to say and encourage anyone looking for a great place to spend a week, stay here!

Perfect getaway!

We LOVE this condo!! We came as a family of 6 and had plenty of space to hang out inside this very comfortable well furnished space. We had everything we needed and loved to watch the amazing sunset from the back porch overlooking the water. The master bath is huge and the beds so comfortable. We played tennis and pickle ball and the pools are great!

Beautiful views & great location

Well-equipped condo in a nice location in Kona area with a beautiful view from the lanai. We found the condo association to be well-maintained with a friendly staff. Rental process was easy from start to finish of stay, good communication and condo had everything we needed for a nice vacation full of exploring the island as well as relaxing on local beaches. Beautiful place

The lanai speaks for itself. Plenty of room for 3 couples while we were there. Pool and other amenities were outstanding. Easy enough to get to Kona yet far enough away to have some peace and quiet. We'll be back
