About this property
Idyllic gem, surrounded by olive groves, close to the sea.
The gem, surrounded by olive groves, is sophisticated and comfortably furnished for 3 people, and even makes room for a 4. Family member, if you bring it. Built on a natural stone plateau as a foundation, the outdoor area with natural stone, the interior paved with marble slabs, we have placed great importance in the construction, that here everything remains natural. And because it has to be, doors, windows, ceilings and all solid wood furniture are made.
At the marble table under the covered terrace you can enjoy your breakfast at sunrise or starlight dinner. Already on arrival, the guest has the feeling to pull back and be able to say immediately "mine". Because you experience nature.
Features: If you are looking the more real Greece in its originality, its untouched nature and its open, friendly people and at the same time want to experience a fun-filled, lively holiday, then Western Peloponnese is the right place. Inside the country after Lampia, Oleni, Andritsaina, Neda River or Kalavrita you still face and then a goatherd with his flock or an old man transporting so Allerlei on his ass. It is especially nice early evening with often mirror-like sea, where you can enjoy fresh fish then either in a restaurant or in one of the taverns your food in the kitchen even can even put together on the beach.
Very interesting are also the day trips by ferry from Kylini to the Ionian islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia.
Attractions: Visit in summer music festivals and theater performances in the open air at the ancient theaters.
Walk on historical floors: the ancient sites Olympia, Ilida, Bassae, the Nestor's Palace in Messini and Kalavrita in the mountain region can be reached in day trips. The imposing castle of Chlemoutsi and the famous cattle stomach bay (battle of Navarino) in Pylos are also worth a visit and exciting for children.
Experience in Amaliada the Gypsy Market (every Saturday) - as early as possible in the morning, so you can enjoy it especially in high summer. Fruit and vegetable markets, where farmers offer their harvest, you can also find in the 13km distant Pyrgos (Wednesday and Saturday). Here Shops are plentiful where you can also find everything for your daily needs, u. A. Doctors, banks and post office, as well as taverns and restaurants serving regional cuisine.
Beach life: In and around Agios Ilias there are numerous natural beaches and coves where you can spend carefree days and just relax. The excellent water quality and long sandy beaches of the coast of Western Peloponnese to the few places one of the world where the nature reserve of loggerhead turtle (caretta caretta) nests still your builds (Gianitsochori, Kakovatos and kalo Nero). The mild climatic conditions allow you bathing from May to October.
Famous are also the sulphurous waters of the small lakes of Kajafa and Kylini.
At the Kajafa lake, with the two sources Anigriden and Geraneio on the east bank, tells the saga that the centaur Nessus had washed his wound poisoned by Heracles arrow in the water of these sources, and this explains the unpleasant odor, which is above the lake.
