Tech Escape is a completely private mountain cabin with modern touches on 1.5 acres in the heart of Big Canoe. It is centrally located between all 3 lakes in Big Canoe in Audubon Ridge. Whether you are here to enjoy summers on the lake , to enjoy the multiple swimming pools, hike the trails , experience the fall leaf colors from the deck, or catch a little winter snow - our cabin is right in the heart of Big Canoe just a few minutes from everything.
When you're here you feel like you're alone in the woods - yet you are just minutes away from the best of what Big Canoe has to offer. This is a bright open plan home with huge floor to ceiling windows and beautiful wooded views. It is centrally located to major amenities, just minutes away from playgrounds, the Marina, the Clubhouse, racquet ball and tennis, wellness center, and the swim club. The home is fitted with smart thermostats, wireless phone chargers, Level 2 EV charger, 4 smart TVs, Netflix, DVD player, mobile access for the front door, rocking chairs, bbq grill and more. Enjoy outdoor Connect 4, Mega Jenga and board games as well.
This home has a convenient master on main and an office with a queen sized pull out sleeper. In addition to the open plan upstairs, you'll find a large deck with outdoor dining and another comfortable screened porch with huge Connect 4, sectional and modern finishings. A fan and lighting if also there for your comfort. It's actually my favorite area in the house to hang out. You're surrounded by beautiful wooded views and can sometimes catch deer strolling nearby. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare your meals. You'll find a Keurig coffee machine with complimentary pods, an assortment of teas, a spice rack with quite a range of spices, a blender, griddle, toaster / airfryer, and plenty of pots, pans, roasting pans, cutting boards and more. We've even included a bartender kit for cocktails. Downstairs you’ll find another lounge , with flat screen TV and sound bar. You’ll find 2 more spacious bedrooms, one with a king bed and en suite bathroom and the other with 4 bunk beds.
You're going to need a car when you visit here - Big Canoe is not terribly walkable. Be prepared for winding steep roads through the forest and mountains. Our driveway definitely has a hill to get to the house.
Parking is free in general but you must park in designated areas. Street parking is not allowed and strictly enforced. This is a wildlife sanctuary so take care when driving through - deer are frequently seen everywhere. Our house can support 4 cars parking on the property.
Finally all amenities in Big Canoe are ala carte and not covered by your booking fee. Access can be purchased from the amenity within Big Canoe.
We also offer a concierge service - so let us know if there’s anything we can do to make your trip easier . Even if it’s having firewood delivered or trying to book a spa. Send us a message and we’ll see how we can help you.
Note we do have a doorbell camera.

Thanks so much for letting us host you! It was a pleasure and we’d happily host you again.
Staying here brought back so many memories of our kids growing up visiting my parents here - the house was so comfortable, fashionable and clean! The hosts were on top of it the whole time. So accommodating!! Thank you!!
This was our second stay at Tech Escape. We have been coming to Big Canoe for years and really appreciate the location, floor plan and extras in the Tech Escape cabin. The immaculate kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, serving ware and spices. There are two large tables to eat your meals. The dual-master configuration is great for couples or two families to stay in the same house and our daughter loves the bunk beds. We will happily stay here again! The communication from the owner is phenomenal, even alerting us to a road closure/car accident within the gates of Big Canoe. 5+ stars all around!!!

I’m very humbled by your feedback. We really do appreciate you staying with us and we look forward to hosting you in the future. You guys are fantastic guests to host!
This has been my favorite property that I have rented. The owners clearly care about the home and have made great efforts to make it extremely welcoming.
The house had all the extras of staying in a house, with the conveniences you would expect from a nice hotel.
The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked several meals from scratch with all the supplies needed to do so. We gas grill is a nice bonus!
The bedrooms and bathrooms had lots of extra towels and linens, which made everything convenient and comfortable.
Communication with the owner was prompt.
The home itself is beautiful and is built into a hill, as almost all the properties in Big Canoe are. I liked that it sat way off the road. We loved all the porch space. I highly recommend!

Thanks so much for booking my cabin. I really appreciate your feedback. I’m trying to make sure this cabin is the way I’d want a cabin to be for myself - so your insights are helpful. It was a pleasure hosting you and please know you’re welcome back any time! Thanks again.
We have stayed at various homes in Big Canoe throughout the last few years. However, Tech Escape far exceeded our expectations! Owner communication was fast and friendly. Every detail was thought of, and every supply was provided. It’s truly the little things that make a getaway relaxing: baggies, salt, pepper, spices, every cooking tool, beach towels and especially the cookies in the cookie jar! We didn’t have to make any special trips, which was wonderful. The home itself was very clean, cozy and perfectly furnished. The office was a special bonus, too. We loved having coffee and playing Connect Four with our kids on the enclosed porch. The home felt like a treehouse in the woods, and we loved it! Thanks for everything!

First let me say I’m humbled by your very kind words! I’m constantly working to try and create a welcoming vacation home experience! It was a pleasure hosting you and you are more than welcome back anytime.
The property was great and communication with the owner was immediate and informative. The house was super clean! The kitchen was well appointed, and the snack basket was appreciated after a long day of traveling. I also truly appreciated the new, fluffy towels. :) The driveway as steep but not as steep as others in this area. Plus, there’s plenty of flat parking just outside the front door so that it’s easy to load and unload your vehicle. I also appreciated the wireless phone chargers and screened-in porch. Overall, a great stay. Thank you!
This is a lovely home in the woods. We saw deer every day. Communication with the property owner was terrific. We were concerned about steep roads but were able to get our minivan up the steep driveway. The family room is warm and inviting with a knotty pine wood ceiling. We loved the feel of the room, and it was a great place to relax and unwind. The office functioned perfectly for my husband who needed to do some work. We loved seeing all the stars at night from the deck.
This house had everything you would need. We have stayed in Big Canoe for 10+ years, and we enjoyed our visit to this home. It is very convenient to the fitness center, pool and all amenities. Highly recommended. The owner was very responsive. The only thing our kids missed was having a pool table. 😊
This property is absolutely wonderful. The house was extremely clean and very comfortable. I would and will stay here again in the very near future. The communication with the host was perfect and everything we needed was already there. Thank You for allowing us to enjoy your house.
The house was perfect and Kats hospitality unmatched by any vacation home I have ever rented. 5 ++ stars

About the host
Hosted by Kat
I'm a digital solutions consultant with a love for travel and an absolute love of nature. I'm also a passionate cook. I've created a vacation space that feeds my love of nature, provides a kitchen anyone can create in and is also a perfect remote workspace. As a fellow traveler, I'm committed to making experiences the way I would want them to be for me.
Why they chose this property
When I set this property up, we thought of all the vacation rentals we've done over the years and developed our wish list. This house embodies all of the creature comforts I would want in a vacation home. Aside from making it very warm and inviting with good spacious areas, there are little touches to make your trip easier. We've included toiletries you might have forgotten, wireless chargers for your devices in every bedroom, USB chargers in the lamps, labeled drawers for your convenience, or an EV charger for Tesla and EV drivers.
We keep essentials in the kitchen from appliances, cooking utensils, a communal spice cabinet, wine glasses, and even a cocktail making kit. If you look through the drawers, you'll even find a cookbook just in case you're looking for a recipe.
The screened in porch lets you enjoy the beautiful outdoors without the bugs. And we have a full dining area on the outside deck.
Oh and did I mention the wildlife? Deer frequently stroll through our property and it's quite something to be able to get a close look right from your balcony or front porch. They've even been known to nap on our driveway.
What makes this property unique
We offer privacy with proximity to amenities, which is something that can be hard to come by in Big Canoe. This house is completely private. You will not have any visible neighbors while you're here. However you'll be just 2 minutes away from Playfield Park and just 5 minutes away from the Clubhouse.
