The chalet is quietly situated in a green oasis about ten minutes' walk from the village centre. The picturesque, detached chalet with rustic furnishings is approx. 130 m² in size and can accommodate 9 people. The living area is located on the ground floor, where there is a wood-burning stove, cosy seating, two dining areas and a high chair for children. Extensive entertainment electronics, which are inconspicuously integrated and yet up to date, include an LCD TV (Smart TV), DVD player with Dolby surround system and a games console (Xbox 360 Kinect), a stereo system and CD player. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, cooker and much more. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed and an additional children's bed as well as a washbasin. The bathroom has two washbasins, a shower, bathtub and WC. There is also a sauna with shower and a separate WC on the ground floor. Upstairs are the other three bedrooms, two with a double bed each and one with three single beds. The two double bedrooms are each equipped with a TV, DVD and games console (PS 2). Enjoy the fantastic view of the surrounding mountains from the terrace. The Gernkogel (2,267 m) - the local mountain - is the third most flowery mountain in Austria. The approximately two-hour ascent takes you across lush alpine and mountain meadows. Fauna and flora are particularly beautiful in this alpine pasture area. A unique Alpine panorama with views of the Hohe Tauern mountains awaits you at the summit. Ideal for ski tourers in winter, tours to the Gernkogel are possible directly from the house. The idyllic, typical mountain village of Wald lies sunny and sheltered from the wind between the glacier-covered mountains of the Hohe Tauern in the south and the alpine region of the Kitzbühel Alps, the Pinzgauer Grasberge, in the north. From Wald you enter one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the Hohe Tauern National Park. In addition to easy hikes on a widespread network of hiking trails, medium and difficult mountain tours lead into the Venediger region. The Königsleiten summit and the Wildkogel summit can be reached by cable car at an altitude of 2,200 metres. Of course, Wald also offers a wide range of entertainment options. From June to September, a square concert and a farmers' market take place on Fridays. You can get to know the surrounding area on excursions: e.g. Krimml with its famous waterfalls, Durlassboden reservoir, Zillertal, Kaprun, Großglockner and much more. Special features: You must bring your own bed linen or it can be ordered in advance for a fee.
